HB & Lucille Horn Family YMCA

Gym

🫤 My daughter participated in the fall volleyball. The coach and team were awesome. The ref was mean spirited and not there for the kids. She would hide behind her lap top and drink coffee. Emailed my concerns and nothing. Did not receive a jersey either. Very disappointed. Hoping by spring it'... People often mention YMCA, staff, great, equipment, classes,

Don't use this for youth Volleyball. My daughter is trying volleyball for the first time. They assigned us a teenage coach even when some parents said they would do it. The coach instituted championship level substituting. My daughter is not great as it is her first season, but some games she hardly got to play while the more advanced girls never came out. According to the YMCA we dote, this was supposed to be a developmental league. The worst part is when I sent three emails to the athletic director the only response I got was, "we have passed your comments along to the sports director." No changes were ever made and no response was given. This is concerning if they can't even respond to a simple request. I don't want to know what happens when I have a real issue that actually needs attention. Don't send your daughter to play here unless she already knows how to play volleyball or you are going to be adamant about volunteering.

The absolute worst. They do not care about your kids only about the dollars coming in. Roberto the president will treat you low when you tell him the things wrong about certain programs. Brian the athletic director only cares about being right and being heard. Loves to talk over you. Albert just thinks everyone is wrong but him.

My husband and I visited ABQ for the National Senior Games this past week. ABQ opened their arms to all the athletes from across the nation. I would like to thank the staff at this YMCA for their kindness and support. I was able to work out prior to my matches. The Governor was generous to allow the athletes to use the wonderful facilities. My women's 60 year old team did get in the silver bracket but was not fortunate enough to come out with a medal. It was great to have come from Maryland to play at such a high level. My whole experience in Albuquerque, New Mexico was a fantastic one. Thank you.

I was visiting family in Albuquerque last week and after a few phone calls to several gyms, I decided to try their fitness center. It was fabulous and was just what I needed. There were many different machines for cardio plus lots of weight machines. It is clean and the workers were very friendly. Estine (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was especially kind at the front desk. I was there at 5:30 AM and she was always smiling. She made a point of greeting everybody. She asked me how my visit was going and was so pleasant. It was a great way to start my day. I will definitely go back when I am in Albuquerque. Thank you! I recommend this YMCA and their fitness center most highly!

Nice clean facility, easy to reach from San Mateo and I-40. Staff are upbeat, helpful and friendly. Especially a good deal for seniors. Many medicare advantage plans cover the membership, giving access to various classes. Fees for a trainer are the best in town (IMO). My current trainer will be moving soon to Lincoln Neb for grad school (yay for him, sad get me. I am sure he will hand me on to someone equally skilled and attuned to seniors' needs.

Tried to gather information about program and how to register. Unfortunately special needs children aren't accepted into the after school program that services my children's school. 😕 wasn't given to much information as to what to do was under the impression theres a American Disabilities Act but got nowhere

I love this YMCA location. The receptionist is a sweetheart and very professional. The elders that attend YMCA are very loving and welcoming.

Clean, great equipment and very friendly front desk crew. No soap in the showers, you need to bring your own.

Just joined the Y! Friendly staff and clients. Plenty of room to work out. Not so busy you need to wait for machines. Clean and welcoming!!

Private shower = best YMCA I have come across yet! Only thing to make the private shower better would be a seat (other than the toilet) for after showering. Not sure why the elevator wouldn't come to the level with the private showers, but luckily I could still climb the few stairs despite my disability.

Our family has always enjoyed the YMCA. They have fantastic classes and the staff is always professional and courteous. Great place to go in the summer months with the kids.

Needs help. Little dusty and needs ventilation in big open room. Lack of communication in cleaning when people are using facility.

This YMCA located in Alberque NM is pretty cool. They offer alot and have an outstanding workout area or areas I should say. The staff here is pretty amazing they were all cool, calm and relaxed. That's how I like to see people!! Work to me doesn't mean stressed and chaos! So I definitely applaud them for that. The workou area is filled with your usual workout equipment and some eqipment I have never seen at any other Y in the U.S!! Which is why this was a pretty special visit for me! I got to use some equipment I have never used before. I definetly will be back whenever I am back in Alberque!!
