My son has been attending N.M Jiujitsu Academy for about the past 18 months. I have been extremely happy with the quality of the instructors, supportive environment, and responsible approach to teaching these skills, particularly to younger children. The classes provide great exercise, help build important life skills, and will hopefully help my son keep from losing his lunch money in the Albuquerque Public School system. The students are taught to develop strength and confidence while reserving the fighting skills for defending themselves, rather than utilizing these to become a bully aggressor. It has been a great experience so far, one which we expect to continue for at least the next several years.

I have been training hear for over 10 years in Jiu - Jitsu and Muay - Thai kick boxing, and love it! It always feels like a welcoming and big family. The instructors; Armando, Joe, Anthony, Christian, and Dylan are super knowledgeable and friendly with kids and adults. Also when I travel or need to put a "hold" on my account, it is as easy as one phone call. I can't say enough good things about this business!

I was going to write this review after the introductory 15 minutes I spent with Justin after having my mind BLOWN by a trap and roll, but I figured I should probably finish out the class before I jumped to conclusions. Then I realized I could never write a proper review until I finished out the free 10 day trial (which I made sure to squeeze as many classes into as possible). Once that was up I figured I should at least get my first stripe at 20 classes before I made any assumptions. Next it made complete sense to wait until I got my second stripe and was allowed to spar so my review contained all that was available (Not to mention Muay Thai, Wing Chung, and Judo). Of course, you can't REALLY review a place like this until you have spent HUNDREDS of hours there, shed blood, sweat, and tears, become a part of a huge community of some of the most wonderful people around, and allowed such an amazing lifestyle to truly propagate through your entire being….. so now, after 2 years of training, 5 days a week, getting the first stripe on my blue belt, I feel like I can say... I think i'll wait for my Purple belt! But seriously. This school has been such an integral catalyst for change in my life that I feel forever indebted to it. Justin and his team have built something truly marvelous here and they welcome new people with open arms. This is the perfect balance of self defense, exercise, community, and sport. I have come up through the ranks here with some of the finest individuals I have ever known. The children's classes are top notch and the kids get a fantastic education while having fun and learning to defend themselves. We call the kids "bully-proof" and I think it is the perfect description. If you have ever seen a UFC fight go to the ground and thought "Man, I would love to be able to do that," or you just need some more exercise, this is the place to be. I cannot wait to meet you. Chances are, I'll be there.

I can only provide a very positive review of Justin Hall and his New Mexico Jiu Jitsu Academy! I have been training with Justin for about 3 years now and have found him to be an excellent instructor as well as an accomplished martial artist. He runs his business professionally and with high integrity, serving as an important role model and mentor for kids and adults alike. If you have any interest in learning how to defend yourself, I would strongly recommend that you visit Justin's academy and try a few classes. You won't be disappointed!

My daughter and I have been going here for BJJ for a couple of years now. All of the instructors are incredible and offer unique perspectives. I appreciate so many things about the culture of this place. My kids love coming here, it's very family-friendly. I like the emphasis on self-defense and practical BJJ. Considering that we are routinely trying to choke each other, I think most people would be surprised by the very friendly atmosphere. :) :)

I've been taking Jiu Jitsu classes from Professor Justin Hall for approximately 18 months, and it has been an awesome experience. From day 1, I was treated with respect and have always received excellent instruction. Consideration has always been given based on my work schedule and communication is top notch! There's no surprises here! I've also had an opportunity to observe Justin and his staff communicate with other students, adult and children alike, and have always thought highly of their engagement and openness. The atmosphere is amazing and a true sense of belonging is always fostered. Without hesitation, I would recommend NM Jiu Jitsu Academy to anyone interested in learning the true art of Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Paul

I’ve been training with Justin for several years now. His technical instruction is incredible, and he has a commitment to teaching excellence in Jujitsu. The blue belt combatives curriculum is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone looking to learn bjj and real world self defense, adults or for kids. I’ve also begun training wing chun, and am equally impressed! Highly recommend this school!

I’ve been a student at New Mexico Jiujitsu Academy for two years training in Wing Chun Kung Fu. Sifu Justin Hall is an accomplished martial artist and a consummate professional in his instruction. The facility is clean and well maintained in an easily accessed location, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. I was given a free lesson and a trial period, providing an ample amount of time to decide this was the gym I wanted to train at. The kids that I see leaving their class are polite, encouraging to the younger ones, and clearly having fun. NM JJ Academy cultivates a supportive environment among its students who train hard, challenge each other, and focus on the fundamentals of their style. If I had more time and energy to practice, I would be in the Jiujitsu and Muay Thai classes, too.

New Mexico Jiu-Jitsu Academy provides a welcoming, professional, and patient community of instructors and fellow students. The staff is very understanding of the need for work/life balance and does their best to be accommodating. I look forward to every class as one of the highlights of my day. My experience there has undoubtedly been worth the time and money, I only wish I started sooner.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Spent two weeks training at JacksonWink and it was like Disneyland. I initially stopped by just to ask if I was allowed to peek inside. I was filled with anxiety and excitement to find out I can easily train there everyday of the week (for a price). I went to all the 6pm - 7pm classes. Every class w...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I remember walking down Jackson street on my way to the bank, and finding a sign that read "FREE KARATE" with a phone number printed right under a white silhouette of a man performing a flying sidekick. This peaked my interest initially, seeing as I was looking to attempt training in martial arts. A...
