As a UNM student, and a new gym goer, this gym is pretty amazing with good equipment. They even have an indoor running tract. I have yet to explore the rest of the facility, but i think everything was pretty good

Everywhere I go at UNM... it's clean. The Johnson Gym is no exception. It's THE cleanest gym I've been to. I mainly use the cardio and weight section of the gym... it's great. They have updated equipment for almost everything. Plenty of benches, tons of treadmills, bikes, row machines, mats and even an indoor track.

Today (Monday September 19) the Olympic pool was closed, but there were no notices about that until swimmers got to the door of the pool. The Johnson pool was offered, but the swim team was practicing, so there was only one lane available. Before I got in, I told the guard I'd need help getting out, since the ladder is too steep for me (I have to use the stairs at the Olympic pool.) When I was ready to get out, I was not offered the chair that lifts swimmers out of the pool. So I struggled to use the ladder. Got stuck. Some people came to help, but with my injuries, I wasn't able to grab their arms. Please post on the outside entry doors of Johnson Center when the pool is closed. I had checked on line before I drove to campus and the webpage indicated the pool was open. It was not a happy time.

I go to unm I love it here and maybe because I'm a small town guy but the amount of equipment to use is amazing.

*Currently undergoing major renovations slated to end in late 2019 early 2020*. I have been going to this gym for over 10 years now. Even know it's really old I personally enjoy walking through the concrete maze to pop out on the outside by the Olympic pool. They even have a second smaller pool! The weight area is extensive. The pro shop is really handy if you don't want to commit to buying, say, mountain bikes but just want to take one out for the weekend. On the East side is a massive multi use green area (Johnson field).

I would take this off of the campus tours. Maybe just the new refurbished side. Very off putting.

I really like this place, it covers most of the activities you need to do, however, it would be great if the gym part was a little bigger.

I absolutely love love love the therapy pool for little swimmers. There is a fantastic lesson program with reasonable rates for group and individual lessons. Add to that the pool is warm and indoors (think no sunscreen) and I literally plan my week around when we are going to swim and have been doing that for more than 5 years. Over the years several student guards and teachers have been outstanding. It can be difficult to navigate the swim lesson sign up but it's absolutely worth it.

I absolutely adore Johnson Center. It's a great place to see a volley ball game or basketball game or swim and work out. The people are wonderful and my boss is great!!! Surely you'll wanna come to have some fun here in the newly renovated area.
