I’ve always thought good coffee was hard to come by in ABQ, but this has changed my opinion. Nestled on the north west edge of downtown, this quaint little joint knows how to prepare coffee! Indoor and outdoor seating, though not a ton. Great decor inside complete with coffee products for sale, at for sale, and even a mini record shop! And the coffee was fantastic. Day one was just a mocha, one of my favorite ways to judge a coffee shop: those starting with bad coffee usually put way too much mocha flavorings in order to cover the poor coffee flavor, but not Castle! The mocha flavoring was mild and really allowed the rich, complex flavors of their espresso beans to be the dominant flavor. Day two will be a pour over — the ultimate beans test.

Coffee was pretty strong for my tastes. Small coffee shop with limited seating. Good location just a short walk from the busy bar scene on Central. Friendly staff.

The best coffee shop in Albuquerque! Delicious coffee, amazing asthetic, great prices, and even better atmosphere. Truly the best flat white I have had since Australia! Castle coffee just launched their own, roasting line! Can't wait to come back

Cute local coffee spot. Set in downtown and easy to access, this is definitely an inclusive space with quality coffee and pastries! Staff was super helpful, letting us ask plenty of questions before ordering. Above and beyond, they even entertained our general questions about ABQ, like where to find the porcupines! Great experience.

This is the first coffee I had on my trip to Albuquerque from Seattle, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere—calm and cozy with plenty of seating. The next thing was the friendliness of the owners. After taking my order, we chatted about my trip here and Steve I think it was gave me a recommendation, even shaking my hand. Being met with such positivity and human connection was a fantastic way to begin the day. Then last but certainly not least is the coffee. Coming from Seattle, I thought it might be difficult to find coffee living up to my snobby tastebuds. Yet, their lavender latte really pulled through. It looked great, and tasted even better! It’s really no wonder why this place is so highly rated. I recommend it to all, visitors and locals alike.

Look no further for a downtown craft coffee shop. I'm just passing through Albuquerque but if I lived here this is where I'd be a regular. Josh was so helpful and friendly. I got the iced coffee which had incredible floral notes and the donuts were incredible.

I stopped by on a whim, and I’m very glad I did. My latte was tasty, the pastry was delightful, and even my kids’ hot chocolate tasted outstanding. Free parking across the street too!!

Cute shop with a different variety of coffee and pastries. Very hipster environment. Staff is extra friendly and seem to know their regulars. Had to wait a while for my iced latte but two people apologized. Not too allergy friendly since do not have nonfat/low-fat milk and only nut/oat milk alternatives (which I can’t have).

Lovely neighborhoody coffee shop. Trendy, yet authentic feeling. Also great coffee obviously. For the tourists and Breaking Bad fans, Dog House is an 8m walk from here.

The baristas are incredibly friendly and have successfully crafted a welcoming community focused environment. Everyone is greeted with kindness and treated as a friend and regular. Such a wonderful environment and a model for what a third space should be like. One critique would be the lack of space since many people seem to come to work on their laptops here.

This place is incredible. Delicious coffee and donuts, caring people, warm atmosphere. The owner saw a homeless, mentally unstable individual come in and his response was compassionate and kind.

Lovely little corner coffee shop tucked away on the northwest end of downtown. The ambience is very comfortable. It was neither overcrowded, nor empty. The staff are super friendly and ask your name as well as introduce themselves. The coffee is first rate too. I may have found a new hangout spot since my beloved bud and beans closed

Very nice owners. good coffee at a nice location. Unfortunately the place is getting busy with the “office camping “ crowd. Update 1/20/2020 10:15: Tried again as we really like the coffee. I guess the popularity of the shop speaks for itself, unfortunately no place to sit again while plenty of patrons use the shop to complete their homework or use it as a virtual office. Even the outside tables were occupied in January. On the other hand if you need to borrow a pen or a highlighter you would have plenty of people to ask. Update: The perfect time to visit is just after lunch, around 1pm (not Saturday). No issues finding a seat. Update 2023: Still one of the outstanding coffee shops, highly recommended, but another two visits in a row where all but one table were occupied by single people using all space as an office. While I understand that the owner has little influence how the space is used, I won't get out of my way on a Saturday to visit.

This is a cool spot to meet a friend and talk over coffee ☕️ or I had New Mexico Breakfast Tea (in place of English Breakfast). 😃 There are cool happy people working there. The tea was hot and we sat next to the warm sunny window…I liked it! Will go again

Fantastic service and even better coffee. These guys were super friendly! We ordered vanilla lattes, breakfast burrito, and a pastry. All were great, but the coffee was really tremendous. Castle Coffee was all-around one of the best experiences I had passing through Albuquerque.

Castle Coffee offers what is, in my opinion, the best tasting coffee in town, whether you select a coffee specialty drink or a simple brewed cup. And not only is their coffee delicious, the friendliness of their service matches the quality of their product. This is the sort of place where employees know your name and show they care.

My experience at Castle was remarkable. Ryan and Matt made my visit special. It is the only option for coffee in Albuquerque.

Great coffee and atmosphere, delicious gluten free pastries and even sweeter service. I had the best morning visit and latte yesterday and left my bag by mistake. I was able to get in touch with a staff member during off hours and retrieve it the next day when the store was closed. Josh even sent me home with a drink in hand. Thanks guys, you’re the best! 10/10

Pretty good coffee, definitely better than most. Had a cortado. Staff with a bit eerily friendly. Enjoyed perusing some of the books they had. Would recommend if you are in their part of town
