Consistent flow of people conversing and buying, and the person behind the counter kept it flowing. I didn’t even realize it was a chain until I had to find the ABQ location! I tried all the sample but eventually left with pecan-pie puerh tea.

I discovered this local yes company at the prickly pear festival where I purchased they're Biscochito green Chile; divine! When I was ready for more tea, I visited Old Barrel Tea Company to refill my container with a new tea at a discounted price.

They're selling some of the lowest quality sencha I've ever seen or tasted. The leaves are broken and fragmented, the color is dull with no shine, there's almost no smell, and the taste has none of the light grassy notes you'd expect from sencha. I've had better Sencha from Kirkland, the leaves were dust, but at least they were the correct color and flavor. The only way someone could say that they stand behind this tea is either if they don't know anything about tea, or if they're lying through their teeth to make their business look good. Take note that in the business's response they didn't say anything to defend the characteristics of their tea. They know what I'm saying is true. I'm frustrated with this tea because this is the type of tea and the type of company that gives people the idea that they don't enjoy tea when all they've been drinking is trash. People put their trust in this kind of company to be experts in quality tea, and the business either doesn't know what they're doing or they don't care about their customers or their product.

I love their tea! I have severe allergies and spoke with the owner about honeys with local pollen that might help, and the owner directed me to the Bee Pollen tea as well. I can't say for sure if it impacted my allergies (very little does), but it tasted wonderful. I will keep coming back here for teas for myself as well as gifts!

Please like and follow us on Facebook at SNDTravels. The one problem I've had with old town is trying to find plugs to recharge, as this life now demands. I had stopped by this great little tea shop earlier and gotten some hot tea (lavender and chamomint 👍) and so they let me come in and set inside while I had some iced tea ( white blueberry, better hot) and the young ladies (Petra and Elexa ) that work there were friendly and knowledgeable about the products. After I finished my second tea they let me try the lavander blueberry (yes I like blueberry) iced and found it very enjoyable. Stop by here and spend some money because these are the kind of little places that are hard to find.

A great place to find some good tea. They had free samples that helped us make a decision to purchase additional tea. The counter help was very helpful. I will definitely be buying from them again.

Such great service and amazing tea! The cashier was knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help us try new things, learn about the tea, and make our selections. I love this shop!

The sales associate summed up OBTC's brews this way for me: "Our tea master is so good at getting the layers just right. They're basically perfect." She's not wrong. Everything I tasted (including the teas I bought and brewed for myself) had every tasting note in harmony. I have no idea how they do it, but they really do. I took my sweet time wandering around this shop, making sure I'd picked all the right teas. I might have a few more flavors in mind for my next visit to Albuquerque. If there is anything I wish they had, it's more peach teas and another white tea or two. But I suspect peach teas will pop up with the summer. (Another reason to visit again!)

Stopped by this shop and I'm so glad I did. They have the most amazing selection of teas and other goodies. I was able to sample some tea and their vanilla honey (yum!). It was great service and great quality. I left with two tins of tea and a jar of that awesome vanilla honey!

My favorite tea shop in New Mexico! Clean, informative, friendly staff, amazing collection of teas and accessories.

Stopped by on our way through Albuquerque twice. Both times met with extremely friendly staff. We got the bourbon tea (darker) and wild strawberry (lighter). Both are great, but the bourbon one is fantastic, capturing all the complex flavors you'd expect of the whisky.

This little tea shop is in Old Towne and definately worth a stop in even if you are not a tea drinker. The shop is full of little tea/coffee mugs, spices, candles, oh and they sell raw honey too. Got a huge jar of marigold honey which set me back $34. But it is soooo yummy! Tea is a little pricey too at $10 a tin or $35 for a large mason jar but they do offer deals...i bought 2 large mason jars of amazing loose leaf tea & got a free tin of loose leaf tea! A medium sized cup of fresh brewed tea was $3.95 & it was DELISH, just wish the cup would have been bigger, and I would loved to have seen a deal on it with a reusable store branded drinking cup instead of in a plastic disposable cup! All the young ladies in the shop are VERY knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. They also sell those fantastic Takeya Flash chill ice tea makers and they have the black ones for a decent price of $30. If you cant make it in store they are online too at amazon

To Albuquerque a few times a year for work, and every time I come, I make it a point to stop by here to replenish my tea supplies if I have time. :-)

Great Tea. My first visit to the store was great. I forgot his name was very knowledgeable on the assortments of seasonal teas. They also have sample tea which is great for deciding on new flavors. They also import unique and rare teas & honeys.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The people that work there are just great! They are welcoming and helpful. Plus, their teas are amazing! I had trouble sleeping a while back and one of their teas took care of my problem! I'll be forever grateful!
