What a fantastic concept! This should be in every city. A huge variety of board games but with the absence of some classics, most notably Mah Jong and Wiz War. On this frosty evening, the place was packed with Catan players.

Fantastic place! Every board game and then some are here to play. The options are truly amazing. Pay per hour per person, which isn't bad, and order food while there. The game tables are beautiful, and the staff here are great! Great for a date, friend hang out, or club games.

Loved every minute! It was our first time in.. first of all, the staff was extremely welcoming when we first walked in. Everything was explained to us and we were seated. We went and picked our first game.. however, there were SO MANY choices we couldn't decide. The gentleman that had been helping us came by and asked if we needed any help picking a game. We told him what we liked to play and he quickly started showing us games. We went with a game he recommended that we had never heard of. It was really fun and we enjoyed it. We ordered food and drinks. The lavender London fog is sooo good! Highly recommend. Their sandwiches are amazing, I recommend the Three Little Pigs for sure. We played another game and got some more drinks. All in all, we spent almost three hours there and would honestly have spent more if we didn't have somewhere to be later on. It's a good time for a date, family or just a group of friends. You might think a place with board games wouldn't be this much fun, but it is! Sure you can buy your own games and play at home.. but the atmosphere, drinks and food at Empire make it well worth going out and playing there. There are so many game choices, some you've probably never heard of. And the best part is if you don't like the game, simply go get a different one. You don't have to worry about buying a game at the store and hating it. Cannot wait to go back! My family is already looking forward to next time. My friend and I only had a short window between meetings. We had a wonderful lunch here, but what was amazing was the staff. Trevor helped us select a game based on our wants. He mentioned we couldn’t finish it, but he helped us set it up and taught us how to play. In between checking in us he saw to other customers and made food. He made our experience there the great it could have been. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you Trevor!

I have been going to empire for like 6 years now, I didn't go during COVID, but now that things are back to normal I went and it was as great as I remembered! Fun games, great staff, nice facility, and delicious foods and drinks.

This place is amazing if you like to hang with friends and play games. They have a bunch of cool games to use, and if you want to try a game you haven't played before, they will explain it to you....I'll definitely be going back! You guys get 10 🌟

This was the first time that I went to this place and the service was awful. I sat at my table waiting for at least thirty minutes with no service. I eventually got some one when I mentioned that I had been waiting there for thirty minutes the server started yelling at me that they only have two people and he’s had enough and that there are too many people there. After another thirty minutes the food I ordered finally came and it tasted terrible, there was several hairs in my sandwich and the bread was soggy. I will not be coming back I had a terrible experience.

Adorable and fun little place to spend time with friends. Extremely reasonable pricing on both game time and cafe items. Super welcoming too, even if it's your first time and you have no idea what you're doing (like me). Plus, the organization system makes it easy to find games to play.

What a phenomenal place! There are so many games you can play and many recommendations for singles, pairs, or groups. Everything being served looked fantastic, but I just ordered a Dr. Pepper. We were here 2.5 hours. If this was nearby, we would be frequent visitors.

I highly recommend this place for 3 reasons. 1) Trying out a new game before you buy it! Only 3 bucks for an hour of any game in their selection. 2) Clean, study and roomy tables for parties of all sizes. 3) Great iced coffee!! Service was good too. My partner and I had a wonderful afternoon here trying a new board game we'd never even heard of before.

Stopped in for a latte while waiting for my cat at the vet's. Super nice staff, comfortable surroundings, and jumping with tons of folks having a good time playing games. Seemed like a great vibe. They have sandwhiches, drinks and more . And good lattes.

What an excellent time. Played a few games I wouldn't have otherwise had access to and had a spectacular date night, I'm super greatful for this place :)

Super friendly and patient staff. DANG their drinks are good!! That peach ice tea and those cream sodas! They have a no sugar Vanilla option too. I adore this place.

Enjoyed playing games on a HOT afternoon on vacation in the a/c location. Good sandwiches and drinks were enjoyed as well. Several other tables were busy plus they were fielding phone calls about what games they had in stock. We paid per hour to play.

Insanely great place to hang with your friends! $4/hour per person to try any games and the food is delicious!

We LOVE the people and the games here, the staff is very knowledgeable and do an excellent job setting up and explaining the games in a way that gets you playing as soon as possible. The prices are a little steep, especially if you end up getting food and drinks, but not unreasonable. My only complaint is how allergy unfriendly their menu is, desserts and such are made by local business (💯) but it means they often won't have ingredients for them, and the ingredients in the sandwiches change in availability so what was OK one trip is sometimes not OK the next trip. With a great vegan restaurant that just opened up nextdoor, it would be really awesome if they could make an exception to their no outside food or drink since their plant based options are very limited.

Very fun place! Employees are happy to see you having fun. We stayed until close, and they just said take your time! Good food, too. Sick place.

I'm liking the hot chocolate and other seasonsal options. The paninis are hot and ready and the one with jam is to die for. However the overall layout seems congested. There's a lot of games on tables on display and not as much room for walking around. It's a bit difficult to maneuver with so much on the floor. I really like this place but I think there could be some improvement to make walking easier. Cute tree!

Place is really awesome if you love games and socializing. Board games that is. The workers are great and can give tips too.

Really cool place, every time I've been here the employees have been helpful and nice. I called ahead for a group of 15 people and they were really accommodating, family friendly and the cafe is great.

This place is awesome. So many games to choose from and great atmosphere to hang out with friends and family. Staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Great little game store with a lovely staff, a wide selection, and surprisingly good food menu. Enjoyed playing games they’re all killing time on a hot day.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's amazing how much they know about so many games. Speaking of a lot of games, they have a LOT OF GAMES. You won't believe the inventory; it's almost like you have to make a scouting trip before you settle on a return trip for serious play. For both those trips, I recommend their specialty coffees and a sweet snack. Parking in Nob Hill can be a little bit of a pain but definitely worth it for Empire alone not to mention other stores and restaurants nearby.

The workers are amazing, especially the owner. We came in at 10:30pm and then they closed at 11pm but they were not upset at all. We were welcomed in and told to stay as long as we wanted. We felt so bad so we only played two games. It was so fun. The snacks and drinks were good! I will definitely come back with my family and friends! ♥️ Please go visit and be considerate and courteous!
