BEWARE!!! This establishment has very self serving ideations accompanied with an unprofessional vulgar staff that likes to escalate situations both inside and outside of the business. The heavy set security guy pictured in the blue shirt on the phone is customarily verbally abusive in the parking lot and can be found egging on illegally parked customers getting towed to do property damage to surrounding businesses. He also stated he had zero respect for the Military and Veterans! I’m sorry his mother didn’t teach him any better. Looking at their reviews, the owner condones this type of behavior against “certain people” and takes pride in fostering an environment of disrespect and utter chaos! This property should be declared a public nuisance and shut down! Please call 311 and file a report if you agree. Avoid this place at all cost unless you want to be disrespected and experience world class drama!!!

Came to enjoy myself and forgot my ID so my sweet husband drove home to get it. We showed it to our second waiter since the first waiter never came back to our table after serving us. The waiter also charged the wrong tab to our card btw! Then 45 minutes later and into having a good time after dinner, (8;45 pm) I was asked by a very fat heavy set man to step outside. I said no for what? He did not want to explain and that was very off putting and threatening. He escorted me outside where I was met by 5 large security guards. This is unnecessary for a petit 5’3 woman who weighs 115 lbs. Felt completely threatened and there they are questioning my ID again after I showed it to my waiter 45 minutes ago. The security guards were Laughing and getting a thrill out of how upset I was. C’mon I’m 45 years old, just trying to enjoy myself. What an embarrassing time. I never get out and the one night I do, I get harassed by the staff. Shandra the manager never apologized even after I tried to explain how uncomfortable the situation was and instead argued with me and accused me of harassing her. (Who knows poor thing she has to try to make a living off of this gig, so I guess I’d walk around with a chip on my shoulder too.) How did it take them another 45 minutes to come and verify my ID after I had already showed it to my waiter?! What a joke. And lack of professionalism. These guys were laughing at the fact I was upset and throwing peace signs for my photo.

You want to Dance? This is your place, matter fact it’s the only Country & Western dance hall (this size) left in town. We got there at 6PM as they opened the doors. ID’s checked, no fee at this time to get in. Picked a table near the floor got our drinks then hit the dance floor. For hour & half there were only about 3-10 couples dancing. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. As the hours pass we were told the younger crowd shows up. Well… can’t verify because we left before 8. As a senior this was perfect night for us, dancing, great atmosphere, friendly employees, clean environment. I know Covid has scared many people away from going out, but if you go at 6 any risk is minimal. Others can tell you about the late night scene my goal was to tell you about the over 60 experience 👴🏻

Went there last night with a few non white friends all over 35yrs old looking to have a few drinks. They kicked my wife out from the smoke pit for nothing. Old security lady told my friend to take her hand off the heater, then told my wife to come talk to her. No one was loud or drunk but they escorted her to the exit, with no issues or yelling since she wasn't even drunk. Watch your own security camera. During that time they tried to steal her phone sticking up from her purse. Luckily we noticed it gone and went to ask security about it. They acted and said they didn't know anything about it. My friend called the phone and the same security guard pulled it out of his back pocket after everyone heard it ringing. Check the camera on that too. Should of had the police involved for theft but whatever. From the other reviews on this place and my own experience, place is fun but seems racist to non whites with shady security. Go somewhere else!!!!

This is definitely the spot for two-stepping and swinging! Good sized dance floor and for the drinkers, bars all around with quick service and beautiful bar tenders. They have a zero tolerance policy which is GREAT. You don't see drunk people falling down everywhere or ruining the evening. They move them out quickly. Security is top notch! Cover is typically only $5! Unless there's a concert. These other local spots are ridiculous with their covers lately. LIVE music! Always bands, both local and from out-of-state. The sound is perfect. It's loud enough to feel like a concert, but the sound is clean and evenly distributed so you can also still have a conversation without blowing your pipes out. Even attended a wedding there once and it was probably one of the most fun! Because we got to dance into the night! And now they have the new side with TVs for sports and bar food!

It’s a shame that this is the only country bar in all of Albuquerque, you have a bunch of but nothing rude power trip bouncers. They will kick you out for the littlest of thing's that don’t make sense even if you haven’t drank!!!! It was not like this 4-6 years ago I would recommend just avoiding this place the only positive thing I have to say bout it is there bartenders they’re always so nice and attentive

We went and were having a decent time, but I was getting tired apparently, because someone thought it was important to come by and tell us to leave. Stopping by the restroom was not an option. Heavy-handed for no reason. Will not return. Addressing owner comments: I don't know where you get this idea that you have to ask people that you think are intoxicated to leave. It's a bar! Your only obligation is to not serve them alcohol. (Honestly, a responsible bar owner would ask such a person if they need a taxi, etc., rather than just kicking them out.) In my case, I was not asleep, not even drinking (yes, we had gone to the brewery next door before), and not causing any trouble whatsoever. Not allowing me to use the restroom on the way out was the final straw. What was the rationale for that? Your responses here are polite, but your policies and your heavy-handed staff say otherwise. It's your choice to treat your customers poorly.

Honestly seriously disappointed. I paid the $100 fee for a table and my table was surrounded by security waiting for someone to do something wrong. And sure enough yes we had one friend who had too much but she was drinking water and we were kicked out. Security response : I don't like the way she's talking to me. No communication from management at all. This is unacceptable and not okay. I completely understand rules and policies however when they are enforced violently and in a manner of harassment that is absolutely not okay. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! AND ALWAYS WATCH YOUR BACK. Really unfortunate because the band was amazing!! And the bartenders were amazing especially Amanda!

The patrons are friendly, fun & fun as f**k! The band is terrific. The waitstaff is awesome; friendly & attentive. The atmosphere was one of energy, fun, and enjoyment. The dancing was great to be doing and watching. The pool table was taken up. Cover charge: $5. A shot, soda or beer: $5. Ten bucks covered me for the night. note that the (women's) bathroom was clean and neat. And the smoking area in the back has heaters and plenty of room to social distance. 🙂

My perspective on this place is fantastic, the only thought about concerts are chaotic, a lot of us pay to also enjoy a dance space, when people clutter onto the dance floor, making it tough, I think if they want to be on the floor like that, part of that should be cut off for the dancers and make the price higher for those that want to be in the front, controlling the crowd. Knowing that is the only time alcohol can be permitted on the dance floor, but any other night it’s prohibited. I think there should be a better crowd control when concerts happen. Other than that I don’t have anything against DB I love this place it’s my passion, dancing and learning is my way of comfort.

We loved this place on Thursday ladies night! $5 cover for my bf and free for me. Happy hour was still going on with $4 rail liquor + mixer. The music starts with traditional country and older people on the dance floor. As the night went on, it transitioned more to pop country and pop music like the electric slide/cupid shuffle/etc. It was such a fun time with plenty of sitting room around the dance floor! If you're from out of state like me, girls generally wear jean shorts/pants with boots and spaghetti strap/tank tops :) this will be our first stop when we come back to New Mexico!!

Last night was my first time here and won't say it's my last.. haven't gone out with my family in awhile and it was such a good night with great drinks to a great venue. One of the male bartenders were amazing on making drinks to my choice! 3 stars though because towards the end of our night i just had 3 beers and 1 shot and i was there for over 3 hours and well i'm going to get WATER and the lady comes up to me and asks for me to step outside i said okay because it was my first time there next thing i know they don't wanna serve me anymore? i had everything inside with no way to get to it. Jason and the other gentleman working outside were so sweet and helpful with helping me find my family! thank you for such a great night!

Trash music from the 70s and 80s. They don't play anything from the last 2 decades and get mad if you ask. This place has lots of potential but it's being mismanaged into the ground. And what's with the female bartender's "uniforms"? This is 2022. Gross.

Burgers were good. Drinks even better. Atmosphere on point. It was enjoyable experience. However, service was off to a slow start and not necessarily reliable. A lot of things were happening at one time and our apps came out after our meal came. We will be back!

No bull! I went to celebrate my birthday and was looking forward to riding the bull. Even though they've got pictures online of the bull and there's signage in the bar talking about pricing and rules for the bull, apparently they haven't had one in a while. Really disappointing :( My drink was good though!

Nice bar and environment, but they kick you out and don’t tell you why. Came to the reviews to see why they are kicking people out. Turns out if your intoxicated you get kicked out? What’s the point of having a country bar if you can’t get drunk and have a good time? At least a warning before getting kicked out would be nice. Would probably save you a lot of bad reviews.

Overall a fun experience, but definitely a one time experience for me. The bartenders were beautiful but stuffed into awkward costumes. The bouncers waited with us outside until our Uber scooped us up! I appreciated this and felt safe. Bouncers were respectful and protective. Inside was loud and crowded. Live music was so loud I could barely hold a conversation or order a drink. Cannot walk to the dance floor or bar without bumping the swarms of other guests. They do not carry grapefruit juice for a Paloma. This is crazy for New Mexico! Live music was fun, but I wished there were some classic Western songs thrown in the mix. I entered the venue hoping for some Dolly Parton or Marty Robbins and was disappointed by the 2010’s era country. They played a singular Shania Twain song. This was the highlight of the night. Decor reflected white, conservative values. Decor included blue lives matter flags and transphobic bathroom signs. I am left with mixed feelings and do not think I will return. Be sure to arrive before 9 PM if you want to park.

Great place to go out dancing! Sitting is limited so you have to show up when they open to grab a table or you're stuck standing all night. There is always a cover charge and once you're in you're not allowed out. Thankfully, bathroom is always clean.

It's a meat market. The band was good. No control over alcohol. Saw several people inebriated beyond means. Crowded. Last time will go unless Loaded plays again.

On 7/16 the band played slow music and old music. Was not fun at all. The last time I went was in 5/24. The band that day was amazing they played fast and good music. But the bar was really good.

This is a great place for two stepping, however a bad place for meeting people! The music during the concerts and at times is so loud that you can talk into a persons ear on the dance floor and they can't hear a word you say and you cannot communicate with them. It is horrible!

Very nice place, staff is friendly, drinks are not that expensive, and the environment definitely lives up to the reputation of the country theme

I can see how this place can be fun, if not gimmicky. I will not come back due to their transphobic bathroom signage and their BlueLM (pro-police) flags. I didn't feel entirely welcome. If you're part of the LGBTQ+ community I definitely would avoid this place. I will say the bouncers were very nice. The other issue I have with the DB is that there doesn't seem to be any kind of drink limit, (part of the appeal) which is concerning because they do bring in a mostly younger crowd. Instead of a limit, they rather toss people out for being too drunk, so it seems. I don't see the logic in this, but that's whatever. The live music was good, but definitely way too loud for such a small, dance floor space (on the right side of the establishment, it was fine.) The deejays definitely could have been better. There was no classic country. I was expecting Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, etc... but they focused on dance stuff, again, for the younger crowd. (Understandable.) I did have a lot of fun, but it's not my scene. I'm glad I gave this place a chance, but it only gets the one from me.

Barstaff, security and management are all very accommodating and friendly. Great drink prices and live bands are always good. Does get busy so if you want a table, come early. Always a great night at Dirty Bourbon!

One of the bouncers was very rude to a friend of mine and I. We were there for s class reunion and he told us in a rude way that if we went outside we would have to pay to get back inside. The other bouncer had to correct him and told him we were with the reunion party. He didn't even bother to say he was sorry or anything. Other than that the place was great. I wish I would have gotten the bartender's name because he was awesome. He knew what I wanted (I wasn't drinking alcohol) and he would get it for me. The food was really good.

I've been here mainly for the live music and the country dancing! Great location to meet new people and enjoy a nice atmosphere. Really appreciated to be checked at the entrance from security and felt the whole event safe. The band was engaging and everyone had a good time dancing on the dancefloor. Recommended location for country music and dancing in the Albuquerque area!

Really cool place but they should make their rules more obvious rather than immediately kicking people out without a warning. How can someone know they did something against the club’s rule if the only rule sign they have is being blocked by security or to small to notice.

  • 4/5 Matthew M. 9 months ago on Google
Place would be much better if they had Modelo, or Cerveza from Marble, or at least some kind of Mexican beer. Dos Equis doesn’t even cut it! Dos Equis Amber would be ok but damn, something! Come on get with the program! Modelo is Everywhere!

Dirty Bourbon has become the single most inclusive club in Albuquerque. Lots of phenomenal dancers willing to share their love of dance, you can come alone and still have dance partners all night long. If you drink, say hi to Lauren and Bonda at the bar. If you don't drink, the water is clean, cold and crisp, so you don't get dehydrated dancing. Great live music Thurs - Sat, and the Sat night midnight dance music always includes the Wobble. Whether you two step, line dance, or Southwest Swing, DB is the neighborhood bar Cheers claimed to be on TV.... and after a few weekends, everyone will know your name. The best food is available before 8 pm, and the pool tables are decent but you will be happier bringing your own stick. See you there!

Absolutely my favorite bar in Albuquerque, a lot of the negative reviews, are the reason I hate going to other bars in Albuquerque (especially downtown) they let you drink and have fun, but by doing it responsibly, and not by letting you get out of hand and be disrespectful to others. I recommend to everybody that comes out of town to go to this bar because of the environment.

Was there Thursday with Friends to celebrate a birthday. The staff was super nice friendly and attentive. We were surprised by a live country band, they too made sure that everyone on the Dancefloor was having a good time. There was an extensively mixed group, from young to old and every ethnicity appeared to be having a great time. Great job owners and staff!!!

This place kicked us (and other out) for literally no reason. We spent more time outside smoking then we did drinking and were still asked to leave. Thankfully the security guards were nice but I’m appalled that a place like DB kicks people out just because they can. As an outsider (not from NM) I definitely won’t be back.

I stood in line forever at the great big bar with all the fancy booze, order a Knob Creek Manhatten and they don't have "the stuff" (vermouth and bitters). They send me over to the other bar where I had to pay $16 + tip. Then, my wife wanted to order food. She had to scan a Qr code. The site was messed up and it took her 1/2 hour, with help from staff to order Buffalo wings. My friend wanted a cup of water in the cup she already had. They only sell bottles. This place is a hassle
