Family Camp Kirtland AFB RV Park

Campground β€’ Rv park

😐 Convenient place to stop and plenty of spots. Super nice check in personnel. BUT, never seen such a limited bathroom & shower facility. I understand lots of folks use their own RVs… but we needed to re-winterize, so had no water in tanks heading home to CO. Appreciative of a space, but this FamCamp... People often mention nice, sites, park, full,

Tons of sites available when we arrived. Bathhouse was hot. 2 washers broken. Pull thru sites were nice. We went to the pool on base while there which was nice. Dog park and kids park were nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Kirtland AFB FamCamp is a non-reservation site. FHU pull through spacious sites. Big rigs must come through Truman gate.

While most of reviews are accurate, nobody addressed the bathrooms, which have not been cleaned probably since they were built. They are very old, dirty and smelly. Went to billeting because a shower was not possible in the filth.

I understand lots of folks use their own RVs… but we needed to re-winterize, so had no water in tanks heading home to CO. Appreciative of a space, but this FamCamp needs to seriously consider a decent/acceptable washroom facility for all. What they currently have feels like a middle finger to men and women of the military…

Great large pull through sites. Many shaded ones. Adequate bathroom and shower. Nice laundry. Our only complaint was there is no recycle bin.

Probably THE best RV site around Albuquerque. Plenty of room between sites, shaded areas, great facilities, great staff, and great rates. However, the reason I only gave 4-stars is that there is no weekly or long-term rates, and long-term is not permitted. Every military installation I have been to has offered long-term and a discounted monthly rate. There is PLENTY of space/parking here to have long-term, but for some reason the commander is stuck in his ways.

Enjoyed staying here, very well located near the freeway (i40). This place is 1st come 1st serve. They do have an overflow parking lot for $15 a night (boon-docking). We got site 10 full hookups for $30. They also had laundry room, shower, tent camping option, & propane. Propane was $3.50 a lb. Worth mentioning for EV people one could utilize the 30 or 50 amp outlet to charge vehicle. Our set up Airstream Bambi pulled with Tesla model Y.

Super nice fam camp with large sites. Has a pet washing station, hot and clean showers, multiple pay to use washers and dryers on site. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Not a lot of area to walk your dogs if you have them and if you go to the areas where you would typically walk your dog their feet will be covered in stickers. Either way it is a nice campground with lots of room and it is a good price for full hook up.

Great dog park area. Reasonable prices for the stay. Lots of available spaces, too bad they don't take reservations.

Busy and nearly full before the Balloon Festival. From I-40, Exit 161, heading south on San Mateo Blvd to Gibson St. Turn RIGHT, then an immediate left to the Truman Gate. A good park with plenty of bunnies to entertain your dogs! Sites 28 & 29 are often open as they require extra long power cables.

Authorized patrons only (military, affiliated civilians, etc). If you don't have ready access to the installation, don't bother trying to stay here. If you do have access, this is an excellent option near I-40 and I -25. The Truman gate is the official Rav entry gate, however we've used the Eubank gate with no issues in our class C. The lower numbered sites are spacious and many have a shared tree or two. The higher numbered spaces are pretty close together, however they are mostly quite long and will fit a class A and toad or a big rig 5th wheel and a truck. All sites are first come, first served. There's something like 90 full hookup sites plus an overflow with no hookups. The office staff and the camp hosts keep the common areas tidy and well maintained. Laundry is available on-site and reasonably priced $1.50 for wash, $1 for 30 minutes of dryer time. Showers are hot and adjustable. We've stayed here a few times and it's always a solid option when we are in the area.

We camped here for several nights and arrived on the weekend. Camp host helped us check in and allowed us to wait to pay before we left on Monday. Sites are spacious and well marked.

Super nice air force base. Lots of grass & wildflowers. Dog park even a garden swing. Very Quiet except for 7:00 a.m. revelrie. Easy shopping.

Still a poor value. 17% price jump coming 1 July 2023! It will be $35 a night for full and $20 a night for dry. In the past 4 years the price went from $18 to $35, far out-pacing inflation. Outdoor recreation, who runs the camp, is not looking out for veterans and other family camp users. The bathroom facilities are few and old. The value isn’t here for a price hike.

Very nice fam camp with huge sites, both wide, and long. Laundry was good. Host was very nice young gentleman who welcomed us. $30 a night. Easy off the freeway. Camp is right inside the Eubanks Gate to the right. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice RV campground on Kirtland AFB. Not the most flexible, but they have reasonable prices on propane.

We have stayed at this campground several times. Nice wide spaces and friendly staff. The water pressure is a little light but doable. We were so excited when we arrived this year to see that they had completely remodeled the dog park. It is absolutely beautiful with shade, some AstroTurf and an agility course. Bravo!

Quarters were clean, had a fenced yard for the dogs, and staff was super friendly and helpful. Only complaint was how hard the bed was. Slept horrible!

It's a nice level gravel lot with options from boondocking to full hookups. Has a shaded playground and little dog park. There is an EV charger near by sitting across the street from a large solar field.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Just an overnight camping stay, but a wonderful tent site. Very private and large enough for my two-room tent. Seemed like a very nice place to stay inexpensively for a few days while you're in the area. Bathrooms and showers were clean with decent hot water supply and pressure. There is traffic noi...

🫀 Location was just what we needed so we called ahead to see if we could reserve a spot for a night. The woman who answered said they don't allow reservations ahead of time, but that there was plenty of availability. We told her we probably wouldn't be getting there until 9 pm, and she assured us th...
