The pictures say it all!!! What a beautiful place!! So many trails to chose from and the outlook point at the top of the mountain is just Awesome! This was my first time going hiking in the Cibola National Forest and I loved it! The weather was cool. Be mindful of the wildlife in the area. Bring plenty of water with you. We actually took the Tree-Spring Trail #147. Within 2 hours I was ready to turn back down but glad I didn't. The view is so awesome at the top. And the small town is just lovely. We actually stop at the local Mexican Restaurant called " El Mariachi Authentic Mexican Food" in Cedar Crest, NM. The food was Great!! You have to make a stop there for Lunch .... especially after a long hike.

<1/2 mile up the road from the Coyote Trailhead parking and picnic area. Not all sites are marked. Really tough road to get up to the dispersed camping area but my 2WD ranger got me here with a bit of patience and care. There are plenty of pull-off spots with fire pits. Lots of places in the area to camp for free if you don't mind roughing it. Might be a bit chilly at night for tent camping but it all depends on your gear. Beautiful view and lots of recreational trails nearby. There's a fair amount of dirt bike and four wheeler traffic during the day but has been quiet and very peaceful at night. Would definitely camp here again.

Absolutely breathtaking. Nature, beauty, clouds, landscape, elevation, interesting narratives up and down the tramway. Nature lovers & hikers paradise. Come to write, draw, be inspired, take marvelous pictures, videos, enjoy lunch, get away from city life, traffic, cars, people, marvel in the majestic beauty all around... Simply surround yourself with thought provoking wonders and inhale a new perspective.

Did a day hike up to Timber Peak. Hike was a pretty steady grade up. Nothing too challenging. The views from the top were absolutely amazing! Definitely would recommend the hike!

We absolutely love camping in the wilderness area near fourth of July campground. We have found a great spot to truly get away. No cell service, no people, lots of space for our dogs to roam off leash. We love it and have been going there for years. The road up can be a bit rough so we can't take our small camper, but tent camps are numerous and secluded. To get to a lot of them, like the one we found, you'll need 4 wheel assist and our 4 runner makes the trek possible. Definitely a great getaway if you truly want to disconnect, literally.

Gorgeous area, remote and beautiful. Mainly untouched and completely natural, with tons of hiking/horseback trails. The roadways also provide beautiful scenery without leaving the comfort of your car.

Always a Cool place to visit way out in the middle of nowhere! Especially when I am with Family, lots of rain to see water flowing, wildlife, and neat looking cows. Unable to get any clear pictures of wildlife. Depending where you drive you definitely need a high vehicle and 4-wheel drive.

The Cibola National Forest has a lot to offer in terms of natural beauty. Tucked into the eastern Sandia mountains, there's a lot to do here. Take the drive to the top of Sandia Peak, go on a hike on one of many trails, go horseback riding, cycling. Not too far from the dry city of Albuquerque, either. Takes less than 40 minutes to drive here and appreciate some beautiful nature!

Very nice environments for hiking. The trails go from fairly open areas to deep forest, then to the shorter conifers at the ridge to provide for excellent opportunities for hikes and walks.

Nice place, it was a little windy. Night sky is beautiful here. Peaceful dispersed camping. My dog liked it here and didn't get full of burrs in her feet.

Very interesting and enjoyable day out. Unfortunately the cable car was full, even though we had booked on line, and we chose not to wait. Souvenir shop at the bottom sold some balloon festival items. Great atmosphere in October we had great view of balloons from local park.

Hiked Piedra Lisa, my favorite trail. Easy to complete in a morning or afternoon without taking your whole day. Perfect Nature and Endorphin fix for anyone who has a busy schedule.

Went to a 3-day motorcycle campout to Datil, New Mexico This picture is taken in front of the Pie Town,NM general store. It is about 2 miles West of the town. Behind me is a wood carving of SASQUATCH, also commonly known as Bigfoot. He was seen in the area by local ranchers in the 1920's.

Seriously, come out and hike here. The forest is gorgeous, hiking trails aren't actually that packed, and it's a superb way to get some fresh air. Most trails are great for any level of hiking experience, and I'd recommend bringing a friend. There are plenty of trails to choose from, so if one seems packed for your liking, move a little bit down the road to the next trail. Parking areas are at the front of most trails.

What can be said about this place? It’s really nice. I would recommend that you take it slow on the way driving up to the trails though cause the out of towners are literal cra with how they drive the roads up there…. Just be careful! And if you’re not from here… or just in general are a caring considerate person PLEASE slow down on the way up to trails! People hike and cycle them… plus other cars… plus it’s just not safe. Anyways the hike itself was great and so was it all… save the bad drivers. Will definitely be going back more often

I love Mt. Taylor. We camp all the time up there. We also do day trips. The entire family loves it!
