Ordered shrimp tacos for $15 and this is what was provided. Three popcorn size shrimp on a corn tortilla. This is subpar by all standards.

Great service and great food! Had a steak, shrimp and fish taco and those free chips and salsa are AWESOME! Light crisp flaky chips with perfect heat in the salsa. Finished with desert sopa’s w/ honey! Mmmmmm!

On June 4th, 2022 my family and I attempted to eat at El Patron North, arriving at 9:45AM. We had been there several times for breakfast across the last few months and it had become a favorite owing to good food, decent service and prices. This time was different, we were treated as though our (ahem) patronage was not wanted. We were told to sit wherever we would like and settled into the patio. Three groups were sitting in the restaurant and we were the third outside, all two to four people. We saw three servers and met the greeter who brought menus and place settings. Then, nothing. Two servers came outside to attend to each of the other two tables. One told us that they would be with us soon. The second said nothing to us. After twelve minutes we left. Is that two soon? Maybe, but we had things to do. It was bizarre and the only reason I can think of is that they have discounted breakfast through 10AM and were trying to keep us from ordering before then. Whatever the reason, today El Patron north told me that they don’t want me as a customer and going forward I won’t be.

This was my first time eating here I kept seeing it as a suggestion for those who were asking what was a go to after the balloon Fiesta so we decided to try it out. It wasn't bad at all especially for the price! We got there before 10am so the plates we got were actually on a menu that was priced different if it was before 10am so for the two of us...one got huevos Rancheros with red chile and the other got a breakfast stuffed sopapilla both of us drank water so in total it was only $18 which was great! Even though the wait was a but longer then expected but considering that they do have a drive thru as well it wasn't too too bad! The chips and salsa was really good! Definitely would go again maybe for lunch or dinner the next time! The staff was pretty nice, the restaurant was clean so was the restroom which is always a plus! El patron bottles as the light shade looked super cool as well! Definitely would recommend it as well!

This place is legit. Best kept breakfast secret in Albuquerque. They have a great menu of handheld burritos for the drive thru, but their dine in options are reasonably priced and fantastic. And a full bar, if you’re into that sort of thing. 2$drafts on Mondays and 2$ Taco Tuesdays.

For my husband and I this was our first time at El Patron, the service was excellent, the food was delicious, and price was good. The most delicious margaritas I've had in a long time. Had so much to eat, the plates came to the table heaping full. We were both very happy and pleased. It was Saturday afternoon at 3:30, we had a wonderful time. We will most definitely come back!!! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!!

I have given this restaurant 3 times to get it right. I understand the the shortage of staff that everyone is experiencing but come on. You shouldn't have to wait at your table for 20 minutes or more just to be acknowledged. Last 2 times I waited patiently, this time I walked out. I will not be going back ever, there are to many other places that would be Happy to Help!

Went for dinner with family. It was between 7 and 7:30 PM. looked like they were already closing up but we were seated. Asked to be away from door so didn't get cold air everytime door opened. We were then seated in front of patio door but that was okay because not being opened. Ordered food which is usually very good but tonight, at best, very mediocre. I wanted refried beans and they looked like they had been sitting out for quite awhile. They were very dry and not good at all. While eating a lot of cleaning being done. As we were finishing drinks, patio door opened up to bring furniture in. My son's head barely missed several times by table legs and all cold air rushing in on us. We left without finishing. Waiter was very good. Probably will not return. In past, we have enjoyed this El Patron.

No complaints on food but happy hour has dropped the margarita and the food items are crazy - no tacos, limited Mexican food items. Used to be favorite late afternoon neighborhood stop.. now not so much.

I Had a shredded beef and potato burrito Christmas style inside and it was ready by the time I got there. I had a side of rice as well but I denied it upon arrival due to the fact at how watery it looked. The waitress who served me was very hospitable and made sure I was taken care of and provided me with everything I needed I even got some chips and salsa on the side and a glass of water courtesy of her at no additional cost. The burrito was really good and the chips were fresh. Much smaller then the location on Montgomery but service and food was just as good other than the rice. Thank you all again.

Unfortunately we had a pretty terrible experience. We have dined at the Montgomery location for years and have always loved the food and service so we anticipated a similar experience for our first visit. There were only 2 servers but the restaurant was not full so I was very confused why it took a long time for someone to take our order and come back through out the meal. My chicken tacos had beef mixed in and when I told the waitress that beef makes me very sick she said “oh I’m sorry, would you like your check?” My margarita was so awful I couldn’t drink it and all 3 of my kids couldn’t hardly swallow their food due to how tough the chicken was. When we finally got our sopapillas they were burned and tasted like it. The final straw was when one of my kids put her food down and had to be walked outside to vomit. It hurts my heart to write such a review because I am a local business supporter and have been a fan of El Patron, but this location really missed the mark. I will say the gentleman who greeted us was so pleasant and deserves recognition for his wonderful customer service!

Cocktail was extremely delicious 😋. Tacos were also very good and kids meal tenders were a big hit for our child. Definitely coming back.

This was the first time I've been here and the food was pretty good. They need to work on their red chili, It has a weird taste to it. They have this Serrano cream green sauce that they put on the enchiladas which is really delicious. The service was ok. The prices are a little high for lunch. They would probably be a lot busier if they had a lunch menu that had better prices. Maybe only serve beans or rice instead of both to cut down on the cost, I don't know but the price is probably the only reason we won't be back. $40 bucks for two people to eat lunch is a little steep.

I went there a week ago to grab a quick bite. My friend got there first and was seated in one of the outside tables. There were menus and utensils, so I assume one of the servers seated him there, meaning they knew we were there. We waited for 20 minutes but no server came by to check on us or even give us a glass of water. My friend even went in to tell them we were ready but we never got served. After more than 20 min of waiting, we just left. There were some people in the outside seating area, but pretty empty inside. We even saw a few servers walking by but none checked on us. Quite disappointing. Probably never go there again.

Went for an early dinner. It was nice and quiet with very prompt, friendly service. The food was awesome! I had a combo plate with taco, enchilada and tamale and David had steak with chile rellenos. So good! The margaritas were pretty amazing as well. We will definitely be returning soon!

I went through the drive through and ordered the Number 3 combo plate and an order of chips and salsa. The food was very good and spicy. The chips were thin and crispy, just the way I like and the salsa had a nice, slow burn to it. I hope to go back while I visit Albuquerque.

The quality of food and service here has really gone down here. A year ago I would have given it 5 stars, now I wouldn’t even give it 1. My husband and I used to really enjoy coming here: but not anymore. The last time we came here I ordered quesadillas; they came out dripping wet with grease and completely soggy. My husband ordered the sol and it was not completely cooked, part of the fish was still translucent. They changed the margarita mix and the blood orange one is absolutely disgusting now. The last time we got margaritas here though I don’t think there was any alcohol on them at all and they arrived after the food. Not to mention the service is so terrible it takes 10+ minutes to be acknowledged when you walk through the door.. and if something is wrong you’re on your own. When both the service and food are bad there is no reason to return to a restaurant.

I was surprised to see low reviews on Google. I've been here many times, and the experience has always been pleasant. The staff is always friendly. The food arrives quickly, and the order is right. The margaritas are great. The chips are fresh. It isn't a "5 star establishment", as in fancy. But it's great food for the price and convenience. Taco Tuesday is a good treat here. Ricardo and Michelle are our favorite servers!!!

Our waiter was very nice polite and great. The menu has changed. It's not the fun affordable place it use to be. They don't serve Tacos on the happy hour menu any more and add a sur charge to the bill even before your tip. You also can only order off the happy hour menu 3-6. You were allowed in the past to order off it anytime as long as you sat at the bar. At least our waiter was wonderful.

I would put negative 5 if I could you better off eating dog food we normally eat at the one on Montgomery. the beans on this location we’re rancid the order was wrong. The lady was rude. She came by one time the food was wrong when we try to explain to her she took the plate and left mad with attitude She didn’t even apologize until I had to speak to the manager and they took $10 off our bill . .

Normally I have really good things to say about this place. I've always enjoyed their food and their service. However, my last visit was the worst I was on my lunch. I ordered online. When I went to pick it up, I was told that they're online system was down for some reason and that my order never came through, which I understand technical difficulties. However, the young man had told me that he would just write down my order and that I could come back for it in about 15 minutes. So I waited the 15 minutes in 15 minutes. Turn to 30 minutes 30 minutes. Turn to 45 minutes and no one ever came to tell me that they were not going to make my food because apparently in order for the chef to make the food a ticket has to be put in and nobody ever put in the ticket. Meanwhile, both servers there walked back and forth and not once telling me anything. Needless to say I didn't get lunch that day and when I asked for a manager they gave me the manager's number what she responded to me right away. She said that she would call me back and of course I never got that call

Had not been here in awhile because we were not thrilled with the service, glad we gave them another chance. We were greeted at the door and seated right away, the server was friendly, respectful, and very attentive. The food came out fairly quickly and nice and hot. Also, the $7.99 breakfast specials are back until 11 am now. Will be back for sure.

El Patrón is our go-to place. Food is always delicious and well prepared. We’ve got some picky eaters in our crew, and even they are satisfied here. Get the Serrano Cream sauce- you’ll love it!

El Patron was awesome. I got the Puras Papitas and I couldn't decide between red or green sauce. The waiter, named Kirkpatrick, recommend their creamy serrano sauce instead which was an awesome recommendation. The food was good. The waiter was awesome. 10/10
