So I was told about this place a couple of days ago so we decided to stop by and try it. As soon as we walk in the mariachi is playing and that was cool. The service was awesome the waiter was on top of his game. The food was great also my Carnitas plate came out sizzling right off the grill and it was great. Good job guys definitely coming back for the rest of the menu. Thanks

Hands down one of the best dining experiences in my entire life. The food was great but the mariachi band was absolutely incredible. Being from small town Montana it really blew me away. Wish I could upload videos. Idk if the band was regular or not but they were truly talented.

Fantastic food and beautiful atmosphere! The food was absolutely fantastic! Our party ordered the chicken flautas, chicken fajitas, chicken burrito, ground beef tacos, seafood enchiladas, and Combination 1 (beef tamale, cheese enchilada, beef taco, carne adovada). The entrees came with several sides, including sopapillas! The portions were very generous, food was fresh and hot (fajitas were sizzling), and they had a great variety of options. The good was very flavourful. They had several options for sensitive stomachs and keto/paleo dietary needs. I was able to order food that was not spicy at all, and there was no sacrificing of flavor! Our party also had the housemade sangrias, which were sangria, and the prickly pear margarita. We would all visit again and recommend it to others! Note: This restaurant is not wheelchair friendly.

Cool spot to grab some New Mexican fare located conveniently close to Kirtland. It's certainly a unique building, and we ended up eating in an old school lounge looking room. The menu consists of typical fare you find locally here, including tacos, burritos and tamales. The food was good, and was just the right portion size for lunch. The sopapillas were great as well. Service was super friendly and the food arrived quickly.

Best New Mexican food I have tried so far. We ordered carne adovada and it was great. The ambiance was good with a mix of Christmas and Valentines. Fast, value for food and good service.

Cervantes is unassuming from the outside but once you go through those doors, it’s one of the most cozy atmosphere to enjoy superb New Mexican cuisine! Their carne adovado is one of the most comforting and tasty bite of food I’ve experienced to date. If you’re traveling in the area, I can’t recommend Cervantes enough!

Impressed! From the outside appearance I was expecting the typical Mexican restaurant with tables chairs maybe some Saltillo tile or hard floors and this place was like walking into a speak easy. Very cool feeling of the 70-80s searing. Food was good and service was friendly. Definitely give it a shot.

9/2021: DEFINITELY WORTH A RETURN VISIT (or 2). Cervantes was nicely crowded during my visit, yet the seating was quick. Food was fresh, fast, and awesome! Took a friend here who said it tasted like "Grandma's" and had never ever been to Cervantes before (born & raised in New Mexico). Healthy Choices and Vegetarian Options available for most entrees. According to their menu all entrees are served with two sopaipillas w/honey, choice of red or green chile, beans, rice, and a low-fat mozzarella cheese, then garnished with lettuce and tomato. Onions on request. I ordered the ground beef enchiladas with regular cheese, please hold the garnish, add onions, mashed beans and rice. Dining partner ordered Combo #2 (1 Taco, 1 Enchilada, 1 Chili Relleno & Carne Adovada). Loved both meals.

I enjoyed the food and getting to know the regulars. But I am disappointed about the portion size for the queso and stew. $5.00 for that size of bowl for queso. Its like a kids portion. Paid $10 for a large bowl looked like a kid size small bowl. I've been to other places and they give you a large for the same amount. I like the place, but I probably won't spend much money there again.

Small New Mexican restaurant with a smaller menu. The green chili was watery, but the red chili was pretty good and had a slight kick to it. I would not recommend the burrito as it’s was watery and basically like a burrito soup. The huevos rancheros was pretty good-but the tortilla tasted a bit undercooked. The combos come with sopapillas which were pretty good.

An extremely roomy restaurant with a nice variety of food to choose from. I liked the food, it's not the greatest in the area but is very tasty. The stuffed sopapilla was really good, but the rice and beans seemed a bit watery. There is a lot of room for large groups. The staff was very friendly and professional. Plenty of parking available, but the area is a little shady, so don't leave valuables in your car.

The food is always great here. I can never complain about the flavor and heat of the chili. Service was really good. Our waitress was the one server there for most of the time we were there. She did really well for as busy as she was serving the whole bar. A man did come to help her at one point but she was pretty awesome. The only thing that bothered me is that they need to change the prices on their menus to match the price you're actually going to be charged on the check. The price difference was enough to make me notice...from 15+ to 18+. That's the only reason they got a four.

Lunch visit. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated (they went all in for Halloween). I’m initial entry to the lounge area there was a peculiar smell but you get used to it. Service was quick and friendly. Huevos Rancheros with the Carne Adovada was very good! Would eat here again and recommend to others.

Came here with dad and sis tonight and it was really a treat! Lovely dining room decorated with tasteful Valentine's Day decor and NM Art. Large mirrors made the place seem open. Of course, we arrived in time for the mariachis and my sis discovered a new love for their music! The food (tamale plate, carnitas, taco salad) was delicious and came in time and we all enjoyed our night and this cozy and friendly restaurant!

An ABQ institution. Consistently great New Mexican food. It's the tasty, relaxed, and affordable place that Burquenos have cherished for decades.

Fantastic food! Fantastic service. Discovered this gem thanks to google and high reviews of our service men and women from the nearby Air-force Base! This was our first good stop in Albuquerque and it did not disappoint!

Don’t be put off by the slightly sketch exterior, the inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with a warm atmosphere, nice artwork, and a welcoming staff. They even had decor up for St. Patty’s Day! I got the Carne Adovada with red chili which was tender and flavorful. My husband got the green chili burger which he declared “ very delicious “. Overall a great lunch experience.
