this may be the best food i’ve ever had. i stopped here on a cross country road trip, and i already plan to return for this food! i got the arroz con pollo which came with sweet plantains, beans, and yuca fries. i have never tasted beans this good. all of the flavors complemented each other so well.

Fantastic vegan options. No having to guess what on the menu is vegan. Hands down the best vegan tamales I’ve ever had - and we ate both the vegan tamal options. Normally I hate olives but I even loved the tapenade one. The vegan bowl was big, beans and veggies were excellent. Got a blackberry smoothie with oat milk. In love with this place.

Delicious Latin food with plentiful vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the veg bowl, chips, and two vegan tamales. Everything was super tasty. Large outdoor dog friendly seating area shared with a few other restaurants and a bar

Outdoor dining only at this place. Order at the counter/entrance. Good food. The chicken tamale was moist and flavorful, about $7/piece. A little pricy, small portion.

I had a great experience here! The owners and employees are very friendly and quick at preparing dishes. The food is authentic Costa Rican, and the BEST in town. Ever had yucca fries before? Get them here! There's also a large amount of vegan and vegetarian options and they are clearly labeled. They offer free water as well, alongside some other specialty drinks. The food is always good and well priced as well. Quality restaurant in the heart of Old Town Albuquerque!

My first time at this restaurant and I love it. The food is delicious and the dishes are abundant. The perfect touch of seasonings. The outdoor setting also makes it special. Highly recommended. -------- I stop by Buen Provecho every time I visit Albuquerque. It never dissapoints. Their food is soo good!

Love has come in to town! Their vegan tamales and casados are so good that I would prefer not to share them. But that’s not loving 😃. I recently had their passion fruit smoothie and it carried me back to my days in South Africa, where only the depth and full flavor of this fruit is experienced. Until now. Buen Provecho now has SA in cup, just for me. Oh wait, I must share 😆. The passion, love, menu options for all dietary preferences, community, and tasty sweet and savory foods are simply the best in our city, in fact, our state! Go taste and share the love!

I had the arroz con pollo with plantains and Yuka fries 😛. This place is definitely a community staple! My pallet is a hard one to please.

This place did not disappoint! It’s all very tasty and flavorful. The food was out quickly. The slushes are very fresh and not too sweet. Though it’s not a super long menu, I think it’s worth multiple trips to try different things. The atmosphere here is very chill, fun, and great to be outdoors with other options in the plaza.

I tried the banana leaf tamales, they were alright, tamales had rice and veggies inside, chick peas, you can get chicken, pork, veggies tamales. The space inside is small, just to order, the seating is outside, good atmosphere outside if you are going with friends in the evening or not so hot day.

What amazing food! The small restaurant is a place with a fountain and misters opposite the botanical garden. The food flavors are amazing. I got the tamales wrapped in banana leaves ... A chicken and a vegan black bean.... sooo good. The owner Charlie is Costa Rican and makes food true to form. Edit: Aug 2021. I came back and had the chicken tamales - so good !!

Very impressed. I am from out of town, so I ordered delivery. They delivered so quickly! I had the vegan bowl and vegan bean tamale, both were delicious. The cuisine is very authentic to Costa Rica. Definitely recommend for vegans!

Food is good but a bit too expensive for the quantity. The cheese empanada are flavorless without their sauce.

This ls basically my first time in Albuquerque. I thought we would stay in Old Town because it would be interesting and might be walkable. We chose to walk to El Vado hotel and get food from Buen Provecho. It's a cute outdoor food court and motel in the Adobe style. Bo5h the Bartender and the Cashier were apathetic. The vibe from the staff was very LA or Austin cool. Provecho cashier successfully discouraged me from ordering dinner by insinuating it would be a thirty minute wait. Basically I came enthusiastic and looking to try something new and instead I was met with indifferent staff. I ordered the "chips" because as a former restaurant worker I know that chips and salsa don't usually take long. It only took ten minutes for them to arrive but it also took the same amount of time for the family that came after me to get their dinner. I was fine , not too disappointed but I just don't understand discouraging guests from ordering food. There is a way to relate a possible long wait in a positive manner.

The area buen provecho is in has a bunch of shops and restaurants with shared outdoor seating. All the food was good, but the empanadas were some of the best I’ve ever had!

Traveling back home to Florida, made a quick stop at this place. Wanted something latin, carribben, tropical food. Well I found it. The Food was amazing, every ingredients were fresh and with good taste. Will recommend to everyone!

This was absolutely some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. Hands down, no question. I can’t imagine they’ve got a weak link on their whole menu. Worth the wait and then some!

I absolutely loved the food. It was fresh, authentic and it felt like I was home. I had the Ropa Vieja platter and it was very delicious. I also had an Agua Fresca de banano and it was very good. I am from Nicaragua and the food is similar to Costa Rican food and you will not be disappointed. The cashier was very nice and so were the cooks. They made us feel at home. The lady that brought our food was super friendly. I think she was the owner but not sure. This place is a must for locals and anyone passing by.

Surprisingly wonderful fast food. The carnitas comes a bit crispy, as it should. The little side dishes are tasty and complementary. When you go, chances are it will be the only food place with a line. There are reasons for this.

My mother and I went here yesterday. It was awesome! The owner/server/everything was super welcoming and friendly. We ordered a ton of food to eat there and take away. The presentation was beautiful and everything was bursting with flavor. The Ropa Vieja platter was outstanding. The portions were so generous that we took boxes home in addition to what we had ordered for her friends at work that night. Mom said at one point, "If they are on a delivery app, I'm done! I'll order from here all the time!!" The awkward parking and a short walk that comes standard with going to El Vado is totally worth it for this place. Even sitting outside in January wasn't bad. The food came quickly and the service was efficient and friendly. We WILL be back!
