Very good new Mexican food. I chose to try this restaurant because they had vegan and vegetarian options. I had crunchy guacamole tacos with rice and beans and my husband had enchiladas. The prices were very reasonable with DELICIOUS chips ( house made) and salsa. The portions were big and service was friendly.

First time visit to this cute, low-frills establishment tucked into a small strip mall. Lucked into Taco Tues and a great bargain relative to today's inflated prices. First, served chips with warm green chile instead of salsa (a winner). Got the 2 taco plate with the green chile BOG pork on soft flour tortillas, which was excellent... I should have ordered another a la carte. Papas were warm and tasty; rice was the weak link. A local lager on tap for a great special price, friendly and helpful staff all summed to a reason to frequent this place. If you're there on a Tues or Thurs, try the BOG!

We went there after we read excellent review. It was hard to find, but upon parking car and walking in, it was confusing how to proceed if we could sit down at any table or wait for hostess to sit us down or there was fast food like desk. So we stepped back and observed another group of people what they would do. After realizing that we need to order our food like in the fast food desk and carried all the food and drinks ( that we had to repeat multiple times what we ordered ) to our table. I ordered pork tamales with additional ( extra charge ) refried beans and rice, and my husband had Carne Avodado and our 11 years old daughter ordered soft rolled tacos. What a joke !!! All my food was cold and no taste to it, refried beans and rice were just like baby portion and plain as well ! My daughter's " soft rolled tacos were " SO HARD " that you can break your teeth on it, but better use would be to break windows! I'm serious !! My husband's food was plain, and there was no taste to it as well. I looked at my received, and I was charged an extra $5 for the bird portion of refried beans and another $5 for the bird portion of plain rice ! We left the place very disappointed and without even anyone checking on us if we needed anything. We will never come back, and all our friends that visit Albuquerque, NM will as well

Combo with relleno and enchiladas, Spanish rice and papas. Christmas chile. Absolutely delicious as always. Love their salsa and sopapillas as well. Service was top notch.

I love the abundance of vegan options! La Salita is officially my favorite New Mexican restaurant in town. My favorites are the vegan impossible stuffed sopapilla (pictured) and avocado stuffed chile rellenos, but I cant wait to try more!

Stopped here for lunch and will definitely be back. Yummy complimentary chips and salsa. Their incredible chile relleno stayed perfectly crisp underneath a delicious salsa. The enchilada was lack luster, but tasty enough. I was happy they had papas as an option instead of rice. My favorite was when they brought our sopas out, they had special fried animal shapes for my four year old. Who does that? Oh and wonderful service; the lady that places your order at the front was efficient and helpful, and the gentleman that brought out our food was enthusiastic and kind. Thanks for a great lunch!

I ordered red chile with my stuffed sopapilla, and I ended up with green. It's not stuffed by the way, it's smothered. Okay, so no big deal. Then our waitress wasn't that friendly, and I felt like everything was watered down. From the chile to the salsa. To top it off the sopapillas still had flour on them and weren't fried thoroughly, definitely do not recommend getting a sopapilla for dessert.

I've been coming here (to this location and the previous location) for the past two decades. This newer location is nice, easy to get into and great for big groups. But it is bad because of the bottleneck of waiting space at the entrance and it is so cold during winter months. That said it's still one of my favorite places to eat in all of Albuquerque and great overall New Mexican food!

A while back, a friend recommended La Salita to us…and we’re just getting around to it. So glad we did. Lisa and I having been enjoying Mexican food all of our lives and La Salita does not disappoint. Lisa said these were the best Chile Rellenos she’s ever had. They were that good. When you walk in, order at the counter, grab a number and sit down. Our food was fabulous and the service was fast and friendly. The prices are what you’d expect to pay today—not too much, but not cheap either. Bonus points for reading this long. Go on a Friday or Saturday. It’s the only two days you can get Carne Adovada. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a large group and the service was friendly and accommodating. The food was good. I tried the grand tomas.. and it was soo much food, unless you're really hungry! I saved mine for lunch. The whole beans were delicious! It had good flavor!

I’ve never felt compelled to write a review online until I ate here. This place was so bad, I really don’t know how it is rated so high. The rice is clearly boxed microwaveable rice. The salsa was also microwaved. And made with sweet and sour sauce? The chips are Juanita's — which is a great brand — but don’t lie to your customers and say that the chips are “homemade”. Also got charged twice for both the chips and salsa. There are mainly two meat options: turkey and ground beef. Why? I don’t know. I gave it the old college try and the only positive thing I can say is that the Pepsi was carbonated and had ice in it. So, thanks for that. Do yourself a favor and skip out on the colossal mistake of a restaurant.

New Mexican cuisine without the heaviness, but with all the great flavor. I don't know how they do it. The avacados rellenos are superb. The salsa is served warm, which I just love.

Was so excited to have first New Mexican meal in a long time - but was disappointed. Sopapillas were not warm (cheap though), chili didn't have much depth, rice was flavorless. Chips and salsa were good though. Looked great but didn't taste great.

The service was outstanding. I felt welcomed and a positive vibe . The only down fall was the menu was to little and the food looked good and our food was out fast. Margarita were not pricing and they were strong. I don’t think we would return just because my family needs a larger menu.

What happened to the service? I understand that labor loss has changed how many restaurants operate. I've heard of the hardships this place has endured with vandalism and all but goodness! Only 2 other tables, middle of Saturday afternoon. Food was quick but barely warm. My dad ordered a bowl of red chile and beans but didn't bring him a spoon. I had to ask for that and get my own sweetener for the iced tea. Lots of chatter in the kitchen, clearly a few workers, 1 at the front counter, 2 to bring our food, cook came out for a break but nobody bothered to check on us. No offer to refill my tea, ask how we're doing, nothing. Food was pretty good not that long ago but today it was bland. Totally bummed. Not going back anytime soon.

The decor is great representing the 505 well. The new way to order took the restaurant experience away. The back of the house very loud not to bad not to good! The chill needs flavor red needs more spices an green taste like 505 green sauce again not bad not good! I understand covid and can't find people who want to work. Just was looking for the experience like the old location.

Avoid. The tacos are terrible. I wish I had read the reviews before I went. I didn't order the special and got 3 tacos instead. They got the order wrong first, and then brought it back. The tacos were literally dripping oil and I left with a big oil stain on my jeans after making the mistake to pick up the taco from my plate to try to eat it. I only wish I had had my cellphone so you could see how much oil the 3 tacos had on them. Their salsa is okay. The sopapillas were disgusting. They were heavy, and had a flaky outer shell which disintegrates into your lap. What remains is a greasy and thick dough. Truly terrible. Question: How hard can it be to make a good taco? I would never visit this place again, and I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to restaurant food quality. For me to say something, it has to be bad. The only redeeming quality was the iced tea. that was good. With all of the choices available in ABQ, I would never go here again, even if I was paid to go. I also found it puzzling that nobody, neither the waitress nor the cashier asked any member of our party how the food was. I don't know if there is a management/owner problem, or what the deal is. FYI, we went during a busy lunch hour, so it wasn't an off time when we visited by any means

What a disappointment on all levels. I ordered online to pick up curbside. I called when I arrived, and was told the order would be out shortly. After waiting 20 more minutes I called again, and was told they had a question about my order. I waited another 15 minutes for the order. When placing the order I had to provide my phone number. I asked why they didn't call if they had a question. They said they had a line. There were 3 cars in the parking lot, so I don't buy their story. The food was less than impressive.

Disappointed in La Salita, this used to be a restaurant my wife and I enjoyed, but as of late, they have declined with their customer service. I order my food online and arrive at the time that my food I said to be ready (20 min from order). They tell me they lost my ticket and they are rushing to make it now. I wait an additional 25 minutes to get my food. They had my food ready but chose not to tell me even though I was sitting right in front of them. I had to get up and ask if the bag they had behind the counter was mine after it being there for 10 minutes. They chose to waste my time as a customer. This is the second time this has happened, and I feel disregarded, discriminated and disappointed. We will not return to this restaurant and will recommend better quality restaurants that train their staff well. La Salita should take down the award for “best wait staff”

My Mom recommended I try this restaurant. She wanted me to try a particular item. They have a delicious shredded beef brisket burrito with or without green chili on Wednesday's & Saturday's. You can get it in half or full size. Fair warning that the full size is quite large but is excellent to share with someone. I highly recommend you try one! I'm so glad I did! I will definitely be returning for another burrito & to try several other dishes. I hear they have excellent Vegan choices & Tacos. I will let you know how good those are as well.👍

Best Tex-Mex beef taco I have had in Albuquerque. Flavorful and well-seasoned beef. Solid all around. I also enjoyed the green chili stew. But, they must get is the chili relleno. They are Crispy even with chili on them, have good spice, tasty. Cute interior, and a big space. Friendly staff although service was a bit slow.

La Salita is attractive and clean, has great atmosphere and lovely staff. The food was delicious! Our group was a mix of vegetarians, vegans and omnivores and everyone had many selections to choose from! Even better, everyone's food was great! Definitely get the guacamole salad for the table, to start- and maybe another to complement your meals! Vegan favorite- Chile Rellenos stuffed with avocado 🤤

What a slice of local tastes!! My first intro to “New Mexico” cuisine. Nice folks and good food. Certainly a keeper for a local spot.

La Salita, a trusted establishment in ABQ serving some of the best NM food! It's a place that is well known by the locals. Their food quality is still excellent after 30+ years of being in business. One major change in the last 5 years since I have been is the counter service - order food first and they bring food to you. My friend loves the shredded turkey burrito. It looks good but there is something about turkey in a burrito that I can't get my taste buds to like 😂 they don't have chicken and so, my default is their BOG or ground beef burrito.

This place is amazing for vegan restaurants. After only one visit, it is my favorite. The Blue Corn Enchilada with vegan cheese and Impossible meat was scrumptious! Also, I got chips and salsa and a sopapillla, and two sides with my meal. It was a lot of food. The interior is well designed, great ambience with the tin walls, license plate art, etc. Yet also upscale. Upscale casual dining. I can't wait to come back again and again to try all the options on the menu! New favorite Mexican food in Albuquerque

Our experience was top notch. It's not often that you see the owner walking from table to table to meet, great, and insure a good dining experience with every table. The restaurant was clean, orderly, and every staff member seemed happy. The warm savory salsa that starts your meal was perfectly blended and spiced. Our meals were a comfortable blend of mom's cooking and something new. With unexpected flavors at all the right times. I had the 4 enchilada meal which has beef, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole in each. Giving me a new flavor with each new enchilada. We live a fully nomadic lifestyle working so we eat in different states weekly or monthly. Next time we are coming through New Mexico, I'll be anticipating La Salita Restaurant.
