Found myself tonight heading out for dinner in Nob Hill, forgetting many of that neighborhood's restaurants are closed on Mondays. Was happy to see Fan Tang was open because I've been wanting to check this place out for some time, although I've only called Albuquerque home for a year and a half. It's a walk-up counter where you place your order in the lobby of the restaurant and then they'll give you a little number placard to place on the table after seating yourself in the dining room. The dining room is just such an awesome, appropriately lit room and vibe....and good feels.... Soon I received my cup of hot and sour soup and crispy vegetable spring rolls. Quickly followed by an order of beef lo mein. Everything was perfectly delicious and I know this to be #facts because back on the east coast I've worked in a noodle and dumpling bar and I know really good Asian when I taste it. Hot and sour soup was crazy spicy but I loved it. The spring rolls were hot and super crispy. The beef lo mein was a top notch version that completely satisfied my craving for quality lo mein. Friendly staff. I will be back real soon. I love everything about this place.

Used to be amazing, recently has been lacking in quality, and this last visit I fully almost ate an entire piece of plastic in the coffee chicken. I dont ever try and ask for complimentary meals and this wasnt an exception, but the ease in which the server asked ‘oh was there some plastic in there?’ As if it was a regular occurrence was slightly concerning. I have even heard before there was pieces of a steel wool cleaning pad in the food, but since you pay first obviously no one cares what happens to the food afterwards. It is a shame seeing what used to be a great restaurant so quickly go downhill due to lack of care for their business or customers.

Best food I've had in a long time, the vegan dumplings had a crispy yet soft texture. I loved the incorporation of different Asian cuisines across the menu. The tofu was unreal it was very flavorful with a wonderful texture and approximately sautéed.

Yo let me tell you wassup. This place is FAN TANGSTIC!! Like for real bomb diggity!! We’re vegetarians visiting from California and Oregon and saw that the reviews online were tip top so we went to eat there. So many vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options. And NO MSG and the food tastes super good AND the serving size is more than adequate. I know I know it’s like too good to be true. Omgoodness the egg drop soup!! The garlic broccoli yuuuuuummy! The noodle dishes off the chain. The guy at the front super friendly. I’m writing this review while in the restaurant so the excitement is still fresh. I have no idea if the meat stuff is good. I ordered all vegetarian food. The only bad…a couple of annoying flies but hey whudayah gonna do, I got flies in my house too.

Great flavors abound in this small restaurant right at Nob Hill. Serving size is decent and price is commensurate. We had left overs. Not as cheap compared to typical Chinese dining places. Order at the counter and sit anywhere. They have vegan and vegetarian options. Parking is limited at the lot but you can always park on the street. Friendly and helpful staff.

This place is the best that we have found in Albuquerque for Chinese food. The food is amazing, the staff is OK. They could be a little happier.

First time here. You order food then sit. We got the beef rolls and spring rolls for appetizers. Both were really good. Got a cup of egg drop soup, also really good. Main entrees were general tangs beef with noodles and kung pao chicken. Some of the best I've ever had. Price was reasonable

I will be thinking about those beef rolls for years. I stopped in traveling rt 66 for a bite and got potstickers and beef rolls. The beef rolls were so crispy and flavored. Phenomenal. Decor and service is great as well. Absolutely will return and try more of the menu if in Albuquerque

This place was amazing! Ordered the Mongolian beef with white rice, cashew chicken with brown rice and the calamari appetizer with spicy Mayo. Everything was fresh and super yummy!! Service was fast, staff was friendly. This is an order and pay when you walk in then have a seat restaurant!! Highly recommended!! Can’t wait to try more, will update accordingly!

First time trying this place and it did not disappoint! Pot Stickers were good, but you gotta try their Tea Smoked Beef. Strong smoke flavor, cooked perfectly, just awesome. I'll definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu!

Stopped here for a quick supper. You place an order at the counter and then go sit anywhere. They have a decent size menu and pricing seems to be higher than a typical Chinese restaurant. I ordered the Siuchan calamari and Basil Ginger Chicken. The calamari was a nice portion size with a good amount of heat. I did not care for the Basil Ginger Chicken due to the undercooked cloves of garlic that were in the dish. The flavor was good however pieces of raw garlic is not. The portion size was good and I would go back and try a different dish since they do have a variety of items on their menu. Staff is friendly and efficient. Parking lot has limited spaces so may have to park on street.

Really Good food. The appetizers were large for the price. We got the crab Rangoons and the pot stickers. The Rangoons came with a very yummy but different sauce that was garlicy and citrusy. The orange chicken has a wonderful flavor. The noodles are not worth $2 more, the portion is very small compared to the standard rice portion. These are the egg noodles in the photo.

Service was so-so. Seemed very disorganized at the front where you put in the order, but it could just be due to staffing. At least the staff available was polite, despite seeming frazzled. The appetizers were ok. Potstickers tasted good, but the dough should be thicker. The calamari was good - I liked the ma la style sauce and the fragrant spices cooked into the dish. Crab wontons had a decent amount of krab in it. Was so excited for curry noodles… but was quite disappointed. Could barely taste the curry (I don’t mean the heat of the dish but the actual flavor of the curry), and the beef was extremely hard to chew. Was so looking forward to eating at an Asian street food esque place, but they missed the mark (if you know what authentic Asian food is supposed to taste like)

Had the spicy chicken and upgraded to fried rice. Upon first sight I was disappointed because I thought it came with breaded chicken. In fact, comes with grilled chicken and I had nothing to be disappointed about. This dish is amazing. It is slightly tangy, very flavorful and oh so spicy. I will absolutely be back to try out several other menu items

Moved here from TX where you try and guess if it is really “chicken” at most Asian restaurants. No guessing here. General Fang dish was great. Sat outside, traffic not distracting at all. Parking a challenge, but worth it. Young man at counter needs a raise, pulling both cashier and food deliverer.

I dined here over the weekend with Mom and Girlfriend and haven’t been here in maybe a year but it is just as delicious and perfect as I remember. From someone who’s worked in the food industry for years this was the most efficiently run restaurant I’ve sat down at in Albuquerque. The food runner was incredibly kind and was very educated on how the General Tang chicken was prepared and the owner/manager was incredibly nice as well. I’d kill to have a location on the East Side is my single and only complaint.

My sister is a long time fan of this place and she tends to only want to eat here when I decide to do take out for us so I decided to go to them for my daughters birthday. I came in to order to go, it isnt heavily busy, there are 2 tables eating and 1 other in person to go order with me. So why is it that everyone has an attitude? Why does the person who took my order (I'll edit when i get my recipe; edit: jaclyn? he's a male so assuming its under someone elses number but 🤷🏾) so condescending when I'm ordering? I have had food delivered but i typically just pay for what she ordered so I didnt *know* the lo mein was the only side noodle option, nor the the default fried rice has veggies in it. WHY tf does he think its okay talk down to me as if its something obvious when there are other options at other places that ask, do you want chicken or beef or veggie, etc? i couldnt even finish the order, I got so flustered from his tone bc he was so much nicer to the people ahead of me. He also wrongly assumed i was here to pick up a delivery and didnt say hi just asked "yes? are you.... picking up?" like thats a normal greeting for a customer. I had to move literally one table over from a table without soy to a table *with* soy bc I ordered a sake and it's *hot*. like..... I have had a terrible in person experience and refuse to pay this place more of my money even if i never have to walk in again. Great food, terrible customer service.

It was just ok. I didn’t absolutely love the food. The Mongolian noodles were pretty good, but the spicy shrimp was too saucy. I was expecting it to be dry fried with the pepper pods

It was our first time here. This was the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. The ginger basil shrimp and Thai basil chicken were so flavorful. You could actually taste the ginger bits and the fragrant basil. I really liked the idea of putting whole garlic in the dishes- it made them so delectable. We can't wait to try other items on the menu.

I didn't like my dish. I can't stand the huge lump of tasteless rice (unsalted and exploding grains) filling up most of the same plate as my dinner. it's an awful presentation. The fried rice was also pretty tasteless. My soda was flat. YET... everyone else's dish was really good, very tasty. so it's a good thing I was with a big party or I wouldn't have known . Also, the place has an upbeat vibe the employees were helpful, knowledgeable, and cheerful. The owner was attentive and concerned you had a good experience. The menu is interesting and has diverse Asian interpretation. I'm glad I came in and will be back when in town.

Ordered through grub hub and was severely disappointed!! Spring rolls fell apart when I picked them up…. The rest of the food was luke warm, at best. Not impressed!!!
