Worst experience ever. I used to come here often before the pandemic and loved it. I was craving it today and decided to come in. The service was horrible, Maybe because it was just one and not a big party. Waited forever for the food to come out, the waitress did not bring 2 of the items that I had order. No apologies at all. Food was not what it used to be even remotely. Will NEVER be back and would not recommend at all. Too bad! It used to be a very good place.

Came here for their Friday night dimsum serves from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm..Super duper slow service, we waited for 45 mins to get 4 plates of dimsum served, another 30 mins or more to get 2 more plates..Food quality was terrible, the worst dimsum that I have ever had. $4 per plate for 3 pieces of dumplings or a plate of 2 buns..not worth the money at all. Aweful food! So disappointed! I do not recommend this place. Try other dimsum places in town.

Terrible, fishy and bitter sushi that I couldn’t finish that was terribly overpriced. Additionally, the staff were incredibly rude (rolling their eyes and making curt comments) and kept us waiting for over an hour. The dim sum was also horrifyingly expensive (and bland) and we were never told the price. Avoid at all costs!

Super great, local place. Their dim sum is amazing. We just got standard sushi and it was also fab. Great service, and affordably priced!

Worst Dim Sum and Sushi I have ever had in a long time. I was so disappointed with this place as I tried it for the 1st time yesterday. There were two waiters one for sushi and dim sum, both friendly but rarely around. Dim sum came out on open plates on a cart, dried out and tasteless. Dim Sum should come in a heated, closed cart. Sushi was not fresh at all. That chef should be horrified by what he served us and I eat sushi a lot! We left at least half of it, couldn't stomach it and felt nauseous after. Luckily we didn't get food poisoning. I would never recommend this place to anyone

Came here for lunch on a Friday. I was seated quickly in the Dim-Sun side and the cart came around very quick. I had several options from the cart and they were all good but the only great dumpling I had was the Pork and Cabbage with Ginger. On the other hand, The Firecracker Roll was absolute perfection. The spice was perfect, the right amount of crunch, and it was presented so well I almost did not want to eat it. The service was good and the restaurant was very clean. If you are downtown looking for some real Asian food, definitely give Amerasia a try.

Sumo Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi spots in town! My wife and I love coming here for their delicious sushi rolls and dim sum, which never disappoint. The service is always top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who make us feel welcome every time we visit. We especially love their signature rolls like the Sumo roll and the Spider roll, which are always fresh and flavorful. And let's not forget about their great selection of sake and imported beers that perfectly complement their sushi offerings. We highly recommend Sumo Sushi to anyone looking for delicious sushi and dim sum in a welcoming atmosphere with great service.

Service was awful. We stood at the door for at least 10 minutes waiting to be seated only to find out it was "seat yourself." A couple of servers walked past us several times before offering any help. Once seated, we got water within about 15 minutes. We thought we'd get a couple sushi rolls while we were waiting for the Dim Sum cart to come by but didn't get menus and were rushed to make up our mind. Food was not like any Dim Sum I've ever seen before. I come from a city with a very rich Asian influence and ate Dim Sum a couple times per week. We tried it but it wasn't good. We went through a drive through after leaving this place.

First time visiting today, so I was a little confused about ordering from the menu since there was no menu for the dim sum, and there was only limited sushi rolls availabie, as the sushi bar seemed to be closed. However, the dim sum tray was brought out and provided many options to enjoy. I also ordered a teriyaki salmon plate with came with a fresh leaf salad as well as a decent serving of white rice, so by the time I strolled out of the restaurant, I was well fed, happy. I didn’t stop to take many pictures but I was pleased with this find and definitely will be back.

The food was fresh and very good, I always enjoy a place that makes a good spider roll. Service was great and the atmosphere is welcoming and fun.

Sushi maker guy talks too much instead of making the sushi. Shouldn’t have to wait so long for the order when they’re not busy, and you can watch him stand and talk and not fill the orders. The rest of the staff was great, everyone was friendly.

Best sushi we have ever had! And we traveled all around the country. Must try the Chef's hot sauce! It brings everything to life!

We saw this place late Saturday night while driving around for some food. We like just to drive rather than search. It just popped out, and there were several cars parked in front. This is usually a good sign. The hostess/waitress was friendly and provided excellent service. The rolls were delicious and fresh, and the chef made everything in front and was also very friendly. I had the 46-piece sashimi plate, and all the fish was fresh and delicious. Great place for good sushi

After eating sushi in countless restaurants all over the country, I can definitely say that not all sushi is created equal. I can also say that for being in the southwest where green chili is king, finding a superb sushi roll isn't always the easiest task. Lucky for us we have a go-to sushi restaurant right here in Albuquerque! The presentation was excellent, the service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. The only thing that we mentioned that was slightly different than we are used to, was the yakisoba. We felt it was prepared in a Chinese dish style vs a traditional Japanese yakisoba. But trust me Sumo Sushi is truly a delightful all around dining experience.

Having grown up enjoying dim sum between Philadelphia and DC's chinatowns, I can say that whatever dumplings we were served were astoundingly NOT dimsum. There were no varieties of anything offered, only 6 different kinds of dumplings/potstickers/mandoo mostly filled with rice. No rice noodle stuffed with shrimp, no black bean clams and pork ribs, no gai lan with oyster sauce, NOTHING traditionally served as dim sum was being offered. Had this restaurant lauded itself a dumpling bar, I would understand, but even then, it was clear that the 8 or so open-plated and stale/dry dumplings had been prepared the day or perhaps days prior to being presented to us as so-called dim sum. My husband had been looking forward to his birthday dim sum experience and it was underwhelming and disappointing to say the least. This restaurant is doing a disservice to anyone in the ABQ metro area who is looking for a true dim sum experience. Ming Dynasty is the closest to the level of dim sum I've grown up having. Go there instead. SIDE NOTE: the lone server did her best with a smile though she was seemingly the only staff there besides the kitchen. She dealt with a quickly filling dining room with courtesy and grace. PS, for pictures of what a true dim sum should look like, check out the pictures of China Garden Han Gong in Bethesda, MD.

We went in here for a quick bite, and it was delicious! The dumplings were enjoyed by the whole table and the Katsudon was awesome! I enjoyed the look of the caterpillar roll on the menu, very cute. 🥰

The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, but we sat at our table for about 15 minutes. Then, when I got up to see if we could order, the waitress was incredibly rude to me. So, I can’t tell you if the food is any good, because I couldn’t get past the terrible service. We decided to leave and go elsewhere. I will never come back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially after seeing the replies the establishment has given to others who have left negative reviews. Save your time and go elsewhere.

This is a great dim sum/ sushi place! Loved the Sumo Roll. They have a Sexy Roll that has raw fish and krab salad wrapped in cucumber. Very nice for low carb eaters. The bean bao was good and the potstickers with pork and ginger were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been eating at Amerasia and Sumo for over 20 years because they are worth the wait! The dim sum is better than places in China town! I crave their beefy garlic, chicken peanut, and sesame balls to name a few! Great place to meet friends!

Wow...first time here and I was really surprised with the sushi. The fish was fresh, wonderful flavors. We also did the dim sum which was amazing as well. Everything is very tasty, we will go back!

Absolutely fantastic Dim-Sum and sushi!! It all was full of flavor and fresh. We will be back for more. Customer service was excellent and staff took care of us without a complaint. Could not have had a better experience. 10/10 would recommend.
