We stopped here while driving through Albuquerque, NM and got a craving for great Mexican food. The place is just a bit off the freeway but it’s super clean, the service is outstanding and as expected, the food is amazingly good. I ordered a Chicken Enchilada (breaking my vegetarian diet) mostly because it sounded good and most all of the menu items contain meat. The food came quickly and the waiter told us to try the Sopapillas with honey. It’s worth the stop just for those. Don’t miss this place!

Food was DELICIOUS! Really Authentic New Mexican Cuisine. Order was taken pretty fast and delivered to the table pretty quick. Spend about 45 minutes total. Parking lot was pretty full but not terrible to locate a space. Great experience overall. The Hatch Green Chili Enchiladas and Red Sauce Enchiladas we both really good!!

Five stars is not enough! The food is absolutely amazing. Very fair price. Staff was super friendly. If a place is cash only today you know something is going on and it definitely does not disappoint. The enchiladas were great and the #1 combo was so good my mouth is watering writing this review a day later.

We read the reviews when we found this place. Hopefully you try it out for yourself. Phillip our waiter was friendly, quick, & informative. We got there about 130, (Place was still busy), but seated quickly. Salsa was good, chips a little hard but tasty. We ordered Chicken Enchiladas Dinner with Sopaipillas. Food was great, hot, & just the right amount. Parking is interesting, with no room for RVs. Restaurant wasn’t a fancy place, more the you feel right at home or at grandma’s vibe. All of the staff were friendly & efficient. Lots of locals & seniors, who know the right place to eat. We will go back. **Only cash is excepted** go prepared.

Good, no frills NM food! Service is always quick and friendly. We’ve never had a problem placing a to-go order. It is good but not the best NM food in the whole city however, to be fair, there is a lot of competition. The chile could be spicier and a bit more flavorful. But if you’re looking for good prices, decent portion sizes, and to support a local family owned restaurant, this is your place. Seems like there are a lot of regulars. Keep in mind-they only accept cash so be prepared! This is something to remember since most of us in the younger generations don’t generally carry cash.

Excellent food and service. Closest thing to my Grandmother’s cooking. The salsa and chips are so good and very fresh. They only except cash so remember to stop by the atm on the way. You will Not be disappointed!

Great red chile, nice slow burn. Sides were delicious also. Service was just right, not overly intrusive, but there when my tea ran low.

CASH ONLY and be prepared for a line if you get here during lunch. WELL WORTH THE WAIT! Authentic Mexican food with amazing service. I had the special of the day, carnitas with potatoes and turnip greens, with both red and green chilies. I can’t wait to come back.

We live in Rio Rancho and it was our first visit here. The food and the employees and just everything was absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely return many times in the future!

My grandparents loved this place when they were still alive. I don’t live in the Albuquerque area but whenever I’m back I go here and love enjoying the red chili and sopaipillas in memory of them. Get the number 8, it’s life changing!

The reviews had us expecting more. Flavors were pretty simple. They offer no hot sauce or salsa. No waters offered or brought. The sopapillas were good. Service pretty fast. Restaurant kinda plain looking. Would not return but it's not bad.

Stopped by at dinner during balloon fiesta. No host or hostess, just a line. Short line for what was a very busy time. Sat down and quickly became a member of the Padilla family. Several family members working there, the guy working at the door seemed to know every customer. Super nice guy. Ordered dinner and it was amazing. Sopapillas were the best I've had! Food was good but the stand out at this place was the service.

First a big shout out to our great waiter, unabashed Cubs fan Philipe 🙂👍. The tamale with red sauce is one of the best I've ever had, lots of meat filling and great flavor. Also had the #8 blue corn cheese enchiladas, Christmas (that's red and green sauce for us newbies) with onion, pinto beans, and rice. They were pretty good too, though I could've used more cheese inside. The sauce is what really pulls it all together. Or table got a basket full of sopapillas which were great for sopping up sauce, or smothering with honey (on every table). Got a recommendation for a good place to get mole, so looking forward to that too!

Great food. Food is tasty without being heavy like other places. Our server Nancy is the most amazing human being ever. A must for out of towners!

This place serves true New Mexican food. It is a popular luncheon restaurant. The wait staff are excellent and owners are very service oriented. I met a girlfriend for lunch and then placed a take out order for family. Take cash with you, because they do not take accept any type of credit card. Whatever time you wait to get your food while dining in or carrying out, its definitely worth the wait. Plus, they offer home made natias like my grandmother use to make! A delicious way to top off your meal!

Lucky if you can eat here! The best Mexican food in Albuquerque! My grandparents took me here and it the best. Definitely recommend it!

Excellent service and food. Salsa could be better but good nonetheless. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, but worth the wait.

The food was great and our waiter was awesome. We had a party of 8 and ate there July 17. But I also went there on Monday July 10th and the waitress was awful had to ask for everything. And then she chased me down outside for her tip. They need to get rid of her.

Great food. Just don't come with a big appetite. Portions are extremely small compared to Mexican restaurants I'm familiar with in. Most reviews indicate chips and salsa as not good...correct, but that is not one goes to a restaurant for. Sopapillas are excellent. Food is great...A+. Can't be stingy about food if you want a 5 star.

Great place for Mexican food in Albuquerque. They are one of the best places to get sopapillas. Lunch time is busy, but it moves fast.

It’s a simple and homely restaurant to go to.. as per the food, overall we found it quite bland for our tastes.. As a vegan, the Chile contained meat so I couldn’t try it.. my husband’s chicken burrito was not cooked well and was lacking in good flavour They did serve us extra sopapillas upon asking and the serving staff was very kind and friendly! Other restaurants nearby have more saucy foods in my opinion

kinda bummed, reviews had us excited but maybe New Mexico food isn’t our palate…sopaillas were outstanding tho and chips almost stale
