Yuuummm!!! Guava Tree came highly recommended by a number of friends so I had to try it! Their sandwiches are hot, fresh, and delicious. I even ordered to go to have it again later that day. Add the yucca fries to your sandwich, although without you still have plenty of food! Great way to support local and get amazing food too!

As a Cuban, i always tend to have high standards since my Abuela sets the bar so high! The Guava Tree has a really cute authentic Cuban vibe! We ordered the sampler platter for the appetizer. Absolutely loved everything and the sauces! Tostones we’re a little dry and unsalted but the sauces made them okay. The Cubano was good! Cuban bread was a little stale but overall the sandwich was very large for the price. The guava/cream cheese filled pastelito is served warm and was excellent!

We had breakfast here and it surprisingly GREAT. The arepas were delicious, the Cuban sandwich was on point. The pernil sandwich was tasty and perfectly cooked. The yucca frita and the sauce were great. My mother in law ordered the arepa del perro and the avocado was fresh and tasty. The staff was really nice. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Great local place. The food was exquisite! Little bitty place, but it's worth it!

One of the best Arepas I have had in Albuquerque. I had the roast beef with a side of yucca fries and plantain.

10/10 a perfect restaurant. I felt like I was a guest in someone's home, being served food which had been prepared with love.

My favorite of the two locations. Great sandwich spot. Always gotta get yuca fries and sweet plantains fried to perfection 🥰

Been here a couple times and while the food is always decent, the service and overall atmosphere has always been cold and uninviting, which kinda ruins the experience. I'm confused why they've been so unfriendly every time I've been there.

I wanted this place to be great. The woman behind the counter seemed irritated that I was even there. She completely ignored me as I stood at the counter and she was prickly when she came over. The chairs are super uncomfortable. The space is cute but the service being unwelcoming made the uncomfortable seating seem even less comfortable. I took my food togo. The chicken in my sandwich was so dry it was like chalk, it lacked salt or any seasoning. My Arepa was over dressed in bland mayonnaise type sauce. The pork was pretty succulent but it tasted low quality and again had no seasoning, the avocados inside were hard and unripe. It was $30 for a small sandwich and one Arepa. I agree with the person who said the quality was not reflected in the price of the food. Soo disappointing 😞

My new favorite Abq spot for a delicious, fresh, healthy meal! It was such a lovely lunch with my daughter. The food, the joyful, welcoming owner and the sunny outdoor table on a warm fall day. The arepa pabellón was delicious, yucca fries and a mango/passion fruit drink made fresh was the perfect meal! Even though I stuffed myself I felt good, not heavy...comfort food that makes you feel good is heavenly! I can't wait to go back!

Had the Cuban sandwich 🥪. Surprisingly, it was very good. Also got a side order of Tostones. Wife had the shredded beef Arepa. She also enjoyed her plate. My only complaint was that server seemed to be bothered when we walked in being that they were an hour from closing. Oh well, work until it's quiting time.

A small little hole in the wall, with some of the best food I've ever had. I got a chicken sandwich with garlic, mushrooms and caramelized onions and it was down right godly. My passion fruit smoothie was delicious. The guava and cheese pastries (pastellito de guava y queso) were amazing! Beautiful lamination, delicious filling and an amazing caramel glaze.

One of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had. Fresh authentic ingredients. All the right flavors. Made fresh daily and the owners take pride in the things they put on the menu. Service is a bit slow. Took over 15 minutes to make one sandwich. But the food is so good it's worth the wait.

Awesome little place here! Great service, great people. Food was amazing and made me miss my home in the Caribbean. A guava smoothie option would have been even better. Maybe next time?

I didn't expect much coming into this place. It's just a hole in the wall on Santa Monica in Albuquerque New Mexico. We took a table and sat down and then my wife asked and its counter service only. Which is perfectly fine. When they brought out our Colombian coffes they were absolutely amazingly delicious! I asked the counter server for what is the most popular dish and he recommended the Pelotero. The Pelotero dish was a flavor explosion in my mouth. It's like I traveled to Colombia and went to the finest restaurant and had the freshest, best ingredients possible to make my lunch! The people here are attentive, friendly, inviting and the food is smashingly delicious! Did I say the food was delicious? It was awesome freaky delicious!

Cubano must try! Pernil was delicious, with carmelized onions. Guava mango drink was good, large size. Very friendly service, upbeat music playing while enjoying tasty sandwiches.

I always have a great experience here the people that work here are always nice. The food that comes out of that kitchen is worth the wait which normally isn't long. The space is a bit cramped but still enjoyable. And you can still have a conversation and not disturb others.

Delicious medianoche and fried plantains. Normally I drink black coffee, but the bombón here was great (how can you go wrong with sweetened condensed milk?). Wish I had more time in town to check out the rest of the menu.

The Classic Bowl is the perfect lunch for someone wanting a medium light taste of Cuba The rice and beans tasted freshly made, and the thin slices of pork were tender and lightly seasoned. The avocado and arepa garnishes were the perfect complements to the healthy but tasty bowl. My lunch companions raved about their meals too - El Cubano and El Pollito sandwiches. 😋

This place isn’t open. I’m literally in the parking lot. I stopped her because Guy Fieri was hyping it on the Food Network. So I wanted to try it out since I was visiting my best friend(Colorado)and her in-law family here in Albuquerque.

I adore the rebuilt casita building. I've followed this restaurant since its location many years ago on Yale and Lead. Regardless of location I have always had quality meals here. The food is always well seasoned and delicious. The walk up style counter means your interaction with the server is normally limited but that doesn't stop them from being courteous and getting your food out to you quickly. The patio has two tables on the west side and one near the north entrance. The northern entrance is wheelchair friendly. The menu has a vegetarian friendly option modifiable to be vegan. They have a rotating offering of lemonades. It's a great place to eat and I hope it sticks around for many more years because I don't think I'll ever figure out how to make their beef as well as they can.
