Relaxed, open concept restaurant with some of the friendliest wait staff I've encountered since moving to Albuquerque four months ago! Exquisite food and service. I had the Parisian Benedict, made with a buttery open croissant, creamy hollandaise and added avocado. Could only finish half but later ate the leftovers, which reheated beautifully because nothing was greasy. So good!! Took out of state guests who were very impressed as well. My son had French toast (photo), also perfect. Can't wait to take my husband!

Every trip to New Mexico has ALWAYS included a visit to Sunnyside Up restaurant, formerly known as Egg and I. However, the experience this time around just wasn’t quite the same. While the customer service was, and has always been stellar, the food was only mediocre at best this time around. I had the apple cinnamon pancake, and it just didn’t quite come together for me—neither in flavor nor texture. My son had the Mexican omelette, as he has had for the past many years, but for some reason, it was not as requested or what it had been in the past. In fact, it looked like a standard omelette. My daughter had the bacon and a regular pancake, while my husband opted for the Turkey sausage, which, by the way, was incredibly salty. The biggest disappointment was the ranch potatoes, as this was previously a favorite of ours. The potatoes were incredibly bland and the consistency was just not very palatable. It felt as though they’d been reheated…not to mention there was zero hint of ranch in the ranch potatoes. Not sure what happened that caused such a drastic change in the food quality and flavor, but I hope that when we return next year, it will be all figured out. If not, that will likely be our last visit.

We were looking for a breakfast place and found this gem. Excellent. We will go back to eat here. Wait: about 20 minutes Atmosphere: Tables are spread apart well enough Service: Excellent and very attentive Food: We ordered the Mexican skillet, with a side of grits and sausage and the waffle dish and the kids waffle dish. The food came out delicious and hot. If we go back to ABQ we will definitely go back to eat here.

We had the spinach bacon mushroom omelette and the crab cake benedict, both were delicious and paired well with the sunnyside up hot sauce. The portions were generous and the environment was busy but homely.

What an experience. We stopped by this restaurant on our way to Colorado due to the great reviews and I’m so glad we did. The food is delicious, the service is outstanding and they have the option to add yourself to their wait list so the cherry on top. Highly recommend this place!

First time going and had a great experience. Food and service were great. We waited about ten minutes to be seated. The only thing was that the skillet took ten more minutes to come to our table than the rest of our food.

Second time coming back of many more to come. Brunch was AMAZING started eating before snapping picture both plates where 1,000% clean plate award winning. Biscuits and gravy breakfast and steak skillet( it's more of a Philly streak style skillet but delicious) last time I had the athena omelets best asparagus ever! Had Joanie as a waitress she was amazing best staff I've encountered my whole life!

We are here for the balloon festival and hadn’t had the best luck finding good food with good experience. Ale was the best waitress!! She is so sweet. She even brought me birthday pancakes!!! The food was great. The bathroom was clean (A very important thing to me.) We are going to try to make it back again before we leave.

Excellent breakfast. Alissa, my awesome server, suggested the strawberry banana waffle and it did not disappoint! The egg was perfect and the potatoes are honestly the best country potatoes I've ever had. Go here.

This place was absolutely fantastic! Best waffles I've had in a while, nice atmosphere, kind staff, great service, and awesome drinks. The waffles we're so fluffy and airy and the butter and wipped cream were delicious. I wish they warmed the plates so the food didn't get cold as quickly but it was so good! The prices were very reasonable. It took a while to get out food but it was around brunch on a Saturday so it was very busy. Will totally come here again! Also try the pumpkin iced coffee while they still have it

This is my first time at Sunnyside Up breakfast and lunch café. Got seated right away, even though the restaurant was very busy and was greeted by a very cheery and helpful server Jordin. The menu is very extensive with plenty of healthy options. Highly recommended

This place was super busy on a Saturday morning for brunch, but the atmosphere was fun and casual and we didn't feel rushed at all. We had waffles, eggs Benedict, and the breakfast sandwich, and everything was superb. Our server kept our drinks filled and the food came out fast. Go on the website to add yourself to the waiting list to cut down your wait time.

Great breakfast spot. I had the corned beef hash and my wife had the biscuits and gravy and both were delicious. We also shared a pineapple and coconut pancake and it was also great. Definitely try this place if you’re in town.

Waited 20 minutes to get in; I had no idea how popular this place is on a Saturday morning. I ordered the “Hikers Benedict” at first I thought the combination of asparagus, ham, bacon, and potatoes was odd, but it worked. I enjoyed my breakfast, and I hope to come back and try lunch too. One star knocked off for the noise. I’m glad to see a busy restaurant, but please either remove a few tables, or ask the servers to speak up; both of us had to shout and repeat ourselves often!

My husband and I went with our two boys, visiting from out of town and looking for something different to try. I had the Parisian Benedict with the unsweet tea, which has a nice hint of peach taste to it. It was a great choice. All the staff was very nice and offered friendly service, including the host and person at the cash register. We waited about 30 minutes on Monday, Memorial Day, which seemed like a busy day. We didn't wait too long for our food, and our server was very attentive. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience.

Delicious breakfast!! We made reservations online which made the 45 minute wait easy. The food was so good! The service and server impeccable. Definitely recommend it as the best breakfast spot in ABQ! I loved how the manager went around checking on customer satisfaction- a rare thing indeed!!

We came here for breakfast, and absolutely amazing doesn't even begin to describe it. Our service was the best we've had in a while. Biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, eggs cooked to perfection. Smashed Avocado drizzled with olive oil, a bit of lemon and chives. Loaded ranch potatoes with a hint of being cooked outside over an open camp fire.... Breakfast was soo good that we ordered take out to have for dinner. Would highly recommend coming here

Eggcellent Breakfast spot. The food tasted amazing. The staff was very friendly. Parking was great. Wait times were not too long on a Sunday. The bathrooms were clean. The venue looked nice. Great place for family. They honor military and veteran discounts. Drinks were great. I would try it again next time I'm in Duke City!

Reasonably priced mediocre food. I would put this store in the same class as Denny’s, Le Peep or Village Inn. This is a great place for you if you don’t mind trading quality for economy. I ordered the Athena scramble. Service was prompt and friendly. The food came quickly. The restaurant was warm, clean and well lit. I was less than impressed by the food. The eggs appeared soggy as though they came from a carton instead of a shell. The asparagus was clearly frozen from a bag rather than fresh. Overall, the experience left me “satisfied” with no reason to return.

I would say this place is overrated. It’s a decent brunch place. I regret waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes for a table. We were 10 on our party. They sat us down and got our order. They brought my son entree first but no silverware was given to any of us by the host. Our server did an outstanding work in bringing us all of our drinks, silverware and entrees. She was super nice and provided excellent customer service. I would say it was overpriced and we got our ticket and was a good $200

I am truly a food critic because I am a cook that many people want me to open a restaurant! This veggie Benedict was by far the best Benedict I have ever eaten & I am very picky and critical!! The herbs topped the already delicious flavor—eggs were poached to perfection!! (I found out later they were (suveed) The mushrooms were not overripe or overdone! The asparagus & artichoke hearts are my favorite already —so this meal was the taste of perfection to me!!! Thank you Sunnyside Up for going the extra mile to make this food sooo delicious and an experience I will remember for a long time!!! Brandon was an excellent server and I would definitely hire him if I were opening a restuarant!!! And Nick not only has a beautiful smile but was more than eager to help this old lady get a glass of lemon water to go! Okay—that was Mothers Day & I didn’t think they could improve perfection!!! But today—one month later — I was wrong!!! Even more delicious my veggie Benedict was chocked full of wonderful—not overcooked veggies & soo very healthy & Sarah—was the perfect server—making sure we had everything we needed & more. Jessica—you are awesome!!! Thank you for making this restuarant soo top notch in quality food & service—the highlight of our trip!!

This review is for the breakfast. It was a super typical meal and I enjoyed it. I wish the sausage was links but you can’t always get what you want. The coffee was super watered down and they didn’t have dairy free milk/creamer. If back in the area, this will be my breakfast spot for sure

Great Experience. Wife and I dropped in for an early breakfast on Valentine's Day. Staff was friendly, fast and competent. Food was excellent, and delivered fresh and hot. We were in and out in maybe 30 minutes, and weren't rushed at all. Highly recommended the Mexican Skillet with steak. Nice place. Exterior looks a little dingy, and a few homeless were sleeping just outside. Still, totally worth a stop.

Joanie was a great server!!! I didn't even have to ask for her recommendation. She had many to offer. I felt very well taken care of - she was on top of everything. It was a little loud inside, but the food was amazing. I got the Hiker's Benedict. Everything was fresh and hot. The quality of the food was incredible. The hibiscus mimosa was refreshing. Best brunch I've had in ABQ so far.

A great place for breakfast and lunch. You'll make it a point to return because you'll want to try everything on the menu! Locally owned with a caring staff serving mouth watering dishes. The featured waffle is a must have. Get on the wait list. They recently adddd mimosas and bloody Mary's to their menu.
