I went here with my Mom who is in a wheelchair. The food is wonderful. Our waitress was good but the hostess told us we had to wait 10 minutes which was fine but we ended up more like 15 minutes and it wasn't even crowded. After we were seated a couple walked in and were seated right away. Not cool.

So, I normally order pizza here, which I like a lot. In fact, I've never been disappointed with their pizza. Tonight, though, I thought I would get something different, and went with the Chicken Parm, substituting veggies in place of the pasta (I saw somebody else's pasta, and it looked mushy). Well, I got cheap food anyway, unfortunately. The chicken patty was obviously a frozen puck in its recent life, and the portion was embarrassing for the price of the meal. The veggies were dipped in boiling water (maybe steamed) and completely unseasoned. Not sure if they were from a can, but tasted like it. So disappointed, and I felt cheated. Reminded me of elementary school cafeteria food back in the day. The soup was nothing to write home about either (minestrone with sausage), and it makes me think it's been a long time since anyone Italian was actually cooking in the kitchen. Also, when ordering, I was asked what kind of soup I wanted, making me think it was part of the meal, which would make sense considering the price. It wasn't. While the upcharge wasn't that much, it was a little deceptive not to say, "Would you like to ADD soup for $2.00," especially since it really made the cost of the meal that much more unreasonable, considering the poor quality. Overall, the quality of food (again, not the pizza - I like that) was horrible! Gordon Ramsay would run them through the ringer, for sure. Won't get anything other than pizza again. I strongly suggest you forego the poor quality, over priced, chicken parm (I can't even complete spelling it out in Italian, as it would be an insult to the culture). The only reason I'm giving 2-stars instead of 1-star is because you should get their pizza.

Mario’s was a good place to eat and hang out. Their breadsticks were really good… drenched in garlic butter. My mouth is watering now just remembering! Lots of choices and menu items, but we were in a pizza mood… Which did not disappoint. We ordered a create your own pizza and ordered it to large for the two of us so we could take some with us.

This restaurant, sadly, is a poor shadow of what it used to be. We'll be looking for Italian elsewhere. The service, whether take out or dine in gets a little worse every time. Several of the recipes have changed... for the worse. The chicken is now flavorless and unseasoned, the vegetables in the salad look like they've seen better days. Some of this may be due to supply chain issues and the staffing issues caused by the pandemic.. but the current management doesn't seem to care. The last couple of times the service staff forget to bring out some of the items ordered. The wait staff only comes around to take the order, bring it out and then bring the check. They don't bother to take off the items they forget to bring out from the bill, or the wrong appetizers they brought out. The wait staff disappears after the order is brought out and you never see them until they bring out the check. Unless you order alcohol, no comes to check on or refresh your drinks. The poor service happens whether the restaurant is 75%, or 25% full, whether it's dinner, lunch or even carry out. On one occasion, two pasta and salad orders had not been brought out after 40 minutes with only four other tables with two or 3 diners a piece. No one came to check on our table for 40 minutes and when we asked about our order the waitress barked "it's coming". On another occasion, a carry out order had a completely wrong order. They sent an Alfredo order instead of a marinara order. Then to top it off, management has a could care less attitude when you bring the poor and slooooow service to his or her attention. In the last occasion we actually had to ask for an apology from the manager for the forgotten appetizers, and lack of any attention from the wait staff. Only after asking if he was concerned about the poor service, inaccurate order, non attentive staff, and for an apology did he offer a half hearted one with an excuse about being unable to retain good staff. Over $50 for a dinner for two, forgotten items, no napkins, virtually no wait service..., missing table condiments. This service and attitude is the norm now at Mario's (in at least 2 locations), but is not prevalent throughout the rest of Albuquerque's restaurant community. Every place makes mistakes now and then, every wait staff has an overwhelming day now and then, and for your favorite restaurants you give them a pass now and then... but when this slow or no service becomes the norm, when the recipes change for the worse, it's time to move on. There are plenty of Italian style restaurants in Albuquerque... It's too bad, this was a nice bistro when the original owner ran it. This one, like the now out of business Quarter's that suffered from the same issues, is now one to say goodbye to. Sadly, it's time to move on to restaurants run by people who know what service means and how to treat patrons and employees. Goodbye Mario, you were a nice place to dine, when you were a nice place to dine. Weeks after this review, absolutely no response from management... par for the course and pretty much expected.

Stopped here on a cross country road trip. I looked up on multiple websites and this was claimed as the best pizza in Albuquerque. In all honesty, wasn’t too impressed by it. It just seemed like a good to decent pizza. The staff were pretty cool though. The picture is of our pizza, you already know I got the meat lovers. My wife had the vegetarian one or whatever. Please don’t assume that I got that because I would never do something like that. Not in a creepy way but I love meat too much to ever quit it. I have alot of unhealthy habits and I think eating meat is the last thing I have to worry about. To sum it up, good pizza, staff is great and the parking is nice and easy. Would recommend if you’re driving past Albuquerque as we were.

The pizza is usually delish but the last two times it tasted off. This last pizza, the cheese or milk in crust was bad? I'm not sure. Sorry I won't be ordering for awhile.

I really love Mario's. Their red sauce is legitimate. They give ample pasta portions, and you can feed a small family off of two of those meals for a couple of meals. Their cheese is wonderful. Their pasta is perfectly cooked. For take out, this is the best Italian food. I would get really fat if I could afford to eat there as often as I want.

Recently moved to Albuquerque from New York, and my experience at Mario's Pizza couldn't have been any better!! Our server was extremely nice and attentive, and our slices of pizza came out fresh and hot. After telling our server I was from New York, and that their pizza was comparable to my favorite pizza from New York City (which is a very high compliment- I NEVER have said that about pizza outside the city before), our server came by to drop the check and gave us a to go container with a complimentary (and delicious) brownie. Following behind our server was the owner, and we had a great conversation with him about pizza and New York, where we learned about the pizzeria's history, how his family originated making pizza in Italy, then New York City, and eventually in Albuquerque. After shaking his hand, we left the restaurant, and I can say it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had, with the owner and the staff making us feel like family, as well as the outstanding food. Even though it was only our first time there, I foresee us going back there many many times, as I am already craving more of their delicious pizza and made to order classic Italian sodas!

Yes the food can't take a bit to prepare and be brought out to you but it is well worth the wait IN MY OPINION. The pizza was cooked thoroughly and the ingredients were fresh and tasted amazing. The green Chile Alfredo pasta was a nice surprise and tasted well beyond what I was expecting. I just very much enjoyed myself dining here and am glad I took the chance to eat here because it is marked as a favorite. The prices are about moderate to expensive but they are justified with the time they put into making the food also the taste and the overall quality of the food.

Ordered the eggplant sub and it was awful, have had this sub several times in the past and it was great but yesterday's sub had old fried eggplant that was definitely not made to order, very greasy and with an old oil flavor. Very disappointing had to just toss out. Staff were very friendly.

Best pizza ever and spumono! Giant slices with homemade sauce. Excellent Greek salad. Service was also great All the food items are spot on with the salt. They don't oversalt their food. Our server was also amazing. Didn't need to write anything down.

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars for the service. It was top tier. I do wish someone would take an hour, and a level, and straighten up all the crooked pictures and framed memorabilia on the walls - it irritates something inside my brain. The food was great. No complaints there. I love Italian-American cuisine and this left nothing wanting there. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. The layout of the restaurant didn't do it for me but I understand I'm a little...picky? If I knew anything about this I'd probably be working in it. I'm sure it works for everyone else.

One of mine and my wife’s favorite pizzerias! Probably our #1 here in Albuquerque. Every location has been great. Absolutely delicious with wonderful service every time. We’ve also done take out of three 26” inch pizzas from the Juan Tabo location for a party & they were perfect & the the employees even helped my mother in law out to her car. Love Mario’s!

Waitresses were super friendly and knowledgeable, food came out in a decent amount of time, drinks were kept filled and extra plates brought. It all made for a great experience plus the food we ordered was really delicious. We got a variety to try family style. There was a great pasta dish, the salad had a lot of toppings in it and the pizza looked great although I didn't try a slice. I got peach and tangerine Gelato.

Pizza was ok… $12.95 for a piece of chocolate cake… I was expecting something amazing. I could have made better cake from a box. Seriously. Do Not Waste Your Money. I promise you, you WILL be disappointed and you will want your money back. It’s not that big, thick or delicious. It is plain ole’ (dry) chocolate cake.

Mario's on San Pedro is unassuming from the outside but has a good atmosphere for being part of a strip mall. It just has that feeling of being a genuine Italian restaurant when you are walking to your table. Waitress; Our waitress Hope was dressed well, efficient, gave us a lovely smile, asked permission to take plates and other items from our table as we did not need them. She had a constant eye out for each table. Food: Truly the best gluten free pizza I have eaten. Also a good salad. Just like the restaurant... The food has a touch that tells me it is Italian. Fresh ingredients, just the right flavor to the sauce, just the right amount of oil, and somehow everything blends so well together! And let us not forget the desert. One of my table mates thinks the cake slices are to die for and are so large it really takes two pey to eat one cake slice.

My mom and I went there for an early lunch today. My mom ordered the spagetti and meat sauce and I ordered a small cheese pizza with Canadian bacon. Both dishes were excellent!!! Waitress was polite, happy and attentive. As we left it started getting busy with lots of people happy to be there. You have to give this place a try - I'll be coming back soon. 😊

Food was good, had enough to take home to my man. Wish the chile was a little hotter. They have good portions. A little disappointed with service. Felt a little rushed on when my friends and I were ready to pay. When we were not even close to finishing our meals.
