If I could give 0 stars I would. Yesterday myself and some friends went into Oak Tree Cafe for lunch. One of my friends was ready before me and went to order their food. Then there were 2-3 customers then myself. My friend has severe allergies and asked the cashier about what kind of oil they used and a few other questions around her allergies. The chef (maybe owner) came out from the kitchen to answer the questions because the cashier was not certain and stated she did not want to give false info. After my friend asked the questions she discovers she cannot eat there and asks to cancel the food order and still orders a drink. After my friend leaves the register area, the chef (maybe owner) goes back to the register and starts talking to the cashier and next customers stating things like “if you have that many allergies you need to stay home” and “there’s flour everywhere it’s ridiculous for someone to go out thinking a restaurant can accommodate everything”. And ends with “oh I should watch my mouth” and walks away laughing. It was extremely unprofessional. I spoke with my friends about what I just saw and we all decided to go somewhere else due to this event. I will not go back to this establishment nor will I recommend this place to anyone. It’s one thing to not be able to accommodate your customers, but then to mock them for their allergies to other customers is a line that shouldn’t be crossed.

I work not too far from here so every once in a while i’ll call in an order for my lunch break. The same woman answers the phone every time but she is so. rude. The first time i called in an order she told me I should’ve called earlier, and today she told me I should’ve called it in later. She even told me I should call her back to remind her to put in my order. I usually excuse her being rude because the food is really good, and i know they’re understaffed right now. Today, however, I showed up on time to pick up my food and she let me know after I paid that my food had been sitting there for a while. It was cold. Not an enjoyable experience. They need to find a way to staff up the place (maybe try paying your employees more.)

The best sandwiches!! This is a must try. My personal favorite is the Monty Hall. Turkey, green chile, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo on a baguette. OMG, so delicious!! Extremely friendly people with great service. Stop by, you won't regret it.

Ate lunch the other day. Had the special, a meatball sub on a bagette. Very tasty and served up very quickly. The place had a friendly neighborhood vibe. Really enjoyed it.

Wow!! Did I say wow?? Prices…perfect for the amount you get. Quality.. beyond what you expect. Taste.. Well, my 8 yr old says “I’m in paradise”. Friendlinesses was over the top. Everyone was happy and had a servants heart. Even to the point that I left my purse and it was brought out to me at my car. This is a great place to support a local business!!!

One of the best burgers I've ever had. Beer battered onion rings were tasty, the house brewed sodas are different and also really good. Highly recommended!

A friend took us here for lunch and it was great. The line to order went fast and they were quick to bring the sandwiches out. I had the extreme and it was a really great sandwich. Was so big you can take the rest home for later. The service was awesome. Overall a great place that I would recommend to anyone

Oak Tree is a wonderful, locally owned restaurant. The quality of their dishes is top-notch, along with their ingredients. Every single thing I have had there is delicious, fresh and served with a smile. It is one of the best values for your money in town.

Ordered green Chile cheese burger. Bun was pretty but very soggy, I ordered a well done burger and I started to eat it and half way thru it was pink in the middle and tasted raw. I finished my fries and did not complain as I was on a date.. and my date asked me if I was okay because I did not eat half the burger. And I explained to him that it was undercooked. He went to the counter and told the woman what happened and her response was “next time return the food right away and we will give you a free drink or something” when he told her that it was not cooked correctly she did not offer to replace the food or refund our money. Very rude and it ruined my first experience at this restaurant. Honesty it was one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had.. the food took forever to come out, was undercooked and the burger had no flavor. After how we were treated we will not be returning.

This was my first time here. The atmosphere was great. There was a long line to order but it went very fast. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Love this place.

I absolutley LOVE Oak Tree Café...everything served here is fresh fresh fresh....from their salads to their burgers (Janet's green chile bacon cheeseburger is too die for) and their sandwiches are delicious too! What a great local treasure on Alameda. BTW while I was eating I saw the same tables being wiped down two and three times so cleanliness is exceptional here! Highly recommend it!

Second time here. The salads are great. The sandwiches are also pretty good. I had a turkey artichoke sandwich. It was pretty good, albeit a bit dry. The owner reports that the eggs are free range and the meati is local. The food really does taste fresh. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable. The cleanliness is not up to my standards. Someone had dropped off their used tray at the drink station where they keep the drinks and the condiments. Additionally, one of the tea containers at the drink station was empty and the other one was full, but the top was not on it. Honestley, that grosed me out. love to support local private owned businesses but cleanliness at restaurants is non negotiable for me. I hope this was a one time issue and not a pattern because I would love to see small businesses like this succeed.

Two meals two slam dunks. We had the Taos sandwich and the California salad. Great flavors and solid portions. The pesto that came with the salad was very very good. Lastly the sodas (not coke or pepsi) and ice tea were also quite good.

Fabulous lunch for a fare price. Enjoyed the tuna plate with all fresh tasting ingredients. Service was fast and friendly. Thank you a great lunch, will recommend.

Outstanding family owned and operated business! Over the many years I’ve been coming to Oak Tree Cafe I can honestly say that I’ve never had a meal I didn’t love. The food is consistently high quality, and delicious. I typically order whatever the daily special that they are offering but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything on their diverse menu. The sandwiches are mouthwatering. The salads are always refreshing and are usually large enough to have leftovers. The dining area is always clean and well-equipped for gatherings family or casual business meetings. They also have a great patio with a view of the majestic Sandia mountains. As for drink options they offer a full line of premium fountain sodas and several beers are always on tap. Perhaps more impressive than the food is the service. This is a family owned and operated establishment and you can feel the love and care from the moment you walk in the door. You can almost always spot the husband / wife / daughter trio working tirelessly to ensure a great experience. Always with a warm smile and kind disposition. If you are a regular they will typically address you by name. This is a rare occurrence in the post-Covid world we live in. This restaurant is a 30 minute drive for me but it’s always worthwhile. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

2nd time at the Oak Tree and it’s just as good as the 1st time. I ordered the roasted raspberry chipotle wrap as a sandwich instead. My husband got the Al Capone. We both loved our meals. My boys ordered burgers and devoured them before I could take a pic. The owner is super friendly and fun to chat with. So so good!

This is by far one of my favorite sandwich places. It's so delicious and the staff is awesome. Plus, they always know what I want. Check out their Al Capone and apple slaw. 🤤

Quaint and cute! You order and then they bring you your food! They even have a long 'community table' in the middle of the room! Large portions...

Food was great! Big problem that bathrooms are locked and code doesn't work. Another problem was that drinks, side dishes and too go boxes are all styrofoam with no alternative. Because of the bathroom situation and styrofoam, I will not be back.

Had a friend from out of town come by who likes to eat healthy, so I had to take him to OTC. He did it was the best Reuben he'd ever had. Not to mention the creme soda was great.
