Absolutely delicious! I'm overjoyed to have found a vegetarian restaurant with so many options. I could go on, but really you just have to try it yourself. You won't regret it😁

The owners (husband and wife I think?) are blatantly abusive towards their staff, even in front of customers. The food was amazing, but it's on the pricier side. Also, for a company so proud of being vegetarian and 'green' they use an absurd amount of plastic. Wasteful and mean, but if you can get past that, the Indian and Mexican food is the best.

I purchased an “Indian bowl” at the Los Alamos coop, noting the label said “vegan and gluten free.” I’ve grown to trust your products as an option for my Celiac disease, so I didn’t think much of it. When I got home, I realized that the food was mislabeled, but only after I started eating it. This was some sort of green chili lasagna… I kept asking myself “is this some Indian New Mexican twist on lasagna?” That’s when I examined the label and the food and realized that this was not a gluten free meal (or vegan). This is very troubling…. Not only am I due to have a reaction, but now I have to reconsider if I can trust your brand again. I will be posting this in the “Find Me Gluten Free” community to warn other celiacs that Maya G is not taking their labeling seriously.

I walked in this morning to buy hummus. I buy their hummus form a local co-op and decided to drop in and buy it from the actual restaurant instead of my grocery. When I walked in, they still had the closed sign up (accidentally), i asked if they'd like me to turn the sign to open and they gave me a dirty look. Then i stood there like an idiot not being acknowledged and I had no idea how to get the hummus. I walked out and went back to my grocery store and bought the hummus there. Terrible service and not very many smiling faces in the restaurant. I recommended their food but not their service.

On the corner of Silver just down the street off Central is this quaint location. For such colorful and exceedingly healthy food the flavors and textures made me want to go back for more. The seasonings were on par with some of the best food I have ever tasted. On top of all that it's reasonably priced and you can grab and go. The energy I felt while eating there was fantastic and I would suggest this establishment for any hungry passerby. Outstanding!

Oh Wow. Mata Gs international cuisine is amazing. The different choices are incredibly tasty and healthy The cafe is very clean and beautiful. I really like the displays. The environment is exceedingly friendly and the service is great too. My four year old and I had a wonderful lunch. She ate more food in one sitting than she has in a while. Thank you Mata G

Horrible experience. The food was bland and smelled slightly spoiled. I also took a Native American friend with me and a woman, all dressed in white, couldn't stop making remarks toward my friend with a look of disgust on her face. She sat there talking to another woman as they both stared my friend up and down. Their behavior was deplorable! I later found out that one of the women was the owner of the cafe. Word To Owner: Don't you dare scrutinize my Native American friend! Earn respect by having respect! Your food comes second until you do! I will NOT be returning until these people learn to tolerate other races and ethnicities! If I could give this place minus 10 stars, I would!

The food is good but fairly pricey. They seem unaware of the use of plastics, especially microwaving in plastic containers to heat up alternative choices from the daily special. This is disappointing and definite no no. You must request alternative methods for warming the food.

Not only is the food fabulous, but the family that owns this establishment are a blessing to meet. Don't miss this rare find!

For people with food allergies or those interested in exploring vegetarian food, Mata G offers a wide variety of delicious food that improves health and wellness without sacrificing taste. I’m addicted to the baked goods and enjoy the convenience of the ready made meals that make it easier to balance a busy schedule with health and wellness. The proprietors take the time to know their customers and often recommend options to me that are exactly what I need. The environmentally friendly, biodegradable packaging helps the planet as do the locally sourced produce. It’s refreshing to see a business run with such detailed attention to customers and the global community. I know I enjoy eating there and knowing they are there providing a healthy, delicious choice for Albuquerque.

Healthy fast food! I had the foccacia pizza and it was amazing. My sister had the kale salad and we shared the hummus (sooo good!) and pita. Service was fast and super friendly. Can’t wait to try the other dishes!

Oh No, no, no, no, no, no! One of the staff was wearing pajamas,no bra, no hairnet, and flip flops while preparing food. Which is interesting, because we were handed a menu and then every time we ordered we were told “we don’t have that right now.” We were then directed to the pre-made food. I took a look and all of it was a week expired! Yikes!!!!! We tried the chai. I dumped it out.

Great find while traveling in Albuquerque. Delicious Vegan and Vegetarian options. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Seating is spare, mostly 2 seater tables. They have a couple of our tables to, at least in August. Recommended.

Just had a Moroccan dish, a honey butter oatmeal raisin cookie, and a green chile cheese scone. Amazing. I'm not a vegetarian just someone who appreciates good food. Would take a picture, but it's already gone. Give it a try. The baked goods are NOT your normal dry weird tasting vegan or GF product. They were moist and yummy. You could smell the honey butter with each bite of the cookie.

Owner not wearing a mask while being extremely close to employees (who at least were wearing their masks), handling food and the register during some of the highest Covid19 numbers the state has seen is an absolute embarrassment.

My boss got my boyfriend and I a gift card since we are vegetarian. We took the trip to ABQ to Mata and wow this place is delicious!!!! You can take meals to go or eat there. The hummus was some of the best I have had in a long time. They also have vegan options of their meals. Owner was very sweet and personable. Clean, bright facilities. Also, they have great cookies and brownies ECT. Who doesn't love that? Wish this place was closer to us!

That rare unicorn of a restaurant that serves healthy food that is sooo yummy!! Don’t deprive yourself of this Albuquerque gem...Best restaurant in the city IMhO, hands down!! Will highly recommend to friends and family. I have had take out from the restaurant and today I saw they have a selection of items at Natural Grocers in Santa Fe. I just had to take a minute here to let people know how awesome their food is!! I had the Protein Sampler and it was incredible, so fresh and flavorful!! This is how food is supposed to be; satisfying, and gives you nutrition and energy -without that almost sedative effect of most chain restaurant food. Go out and try it folks, you will not be disappointed!!

I ordered through GrubHub. All of the food is fantastic, tasted fresh, and was a delightful experience to eat. My delivery driver never showed up to pick up and order my food which caused the owner of the restaurant to stay after closing hours. A half hour after they closed, he drove to my residence and delivered it himself. I will definitely be bringing much, much more business later down the road.

I was looking for a healthy option in downtown ABQ and I found Mata G. International vegetarian cuisine with no compromise on flavors. This has certainly become my favorite go to place to pick up plant based meals.

The food is excellent but it is served in plastic and while I assume it's made fresh daily you get it out of a refrigerated case. I gave it four stars because it is relatively expensive for food in plastic take out packages and they don't recycle all that plastic.

Absolutely 💯 loved our food. They have such a variety that I rarely see. My husband and I found it by accident, but from now on it will definitely be the destination. Tasted delicious, and was filling. The drinks were sooooo good. The man helping us was a pleasure to speak with and helped let us know about the food selections .

Very tasty vegetarian n vegan options. The protein sampler satisfies the snack craving. The hot plates from the grab n go are amazing esp the Indian bowl, the curry cauliflower and twice cooked potatoe left me full.

It was so bland. The portions are not worth the cost and with how bland it was, so underwhelming. The peanut sauce from the hot Asian was the only redeeming thing.

They gave us a free Matcha cookie when we bought gorgeous coasters at their store in Santa Fe yesterday. The cookie is amazing and without white sugar! Delicious! Wish they had a store in nyc! Wonderful!

I eat there first thing everytime I visit Abq. Great people, great service. The Lassi's are addictive like some kind of drug. Unbelievably delicious. I'm gluten free so it limits what I can eat there, but there's plenty for an awesome meal. I've talked to the owners, and they said they've already been offered to be bought out by a national company! Better get the original while you still can.

Impossible to get actual nutrition facts about products, have sent multiple emails no response period, also their smoothies go bad in particular the berry one goes bad super fast and ferments bottles are always hard and bloated with gases from going bad! No proof of being organic or anything guessing that’s why they won’t share nutrition facts

Your gonna love this place if you value high quality ingredients prepared deliciously with loving care, service and a great smiles! I tasted beet lasagna for the first time and was so impressed. The raisin nut cookie was enough for dessert at lunch and dinner too! The tea has kept me energized for hours on my roadtrip to California. I wish this restaurant was in Kansas City. I would be there all the time. Yummy!

Bought this spicy vegan tempeh wrap at Manzanito. The packaging was more expensive than the soggy wrap with wilted lettuce and a minuscule slice of tempeh. Worst wrap ever! Do not buy!

  • 4/5 Claire B. 5 months ago on Google
Tasty arugula and beet salad! However they do not have a restroom for customers. The owner said there is no restroom because they are “grab and go” but every fast food restaurant and gas station has a restroom…seems odd. Outdoor only seating. The iPad asks you to tip 20% even tho the service model is set up like a retail counter with all the food premade. I appreciate the all vegetarian menu and healthy options. I will likely be back.

Stopped in to grab lunch, and the food was amazing. I got the daily special (Moroccan), and it was incredibly flavorful and perfectly-prepared. Likely a bit too expensive to make it a regular habit, but I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood for an occasional lunchtime splurge!

The food here absolutely incredible. Flavors are developed and you can taste the quality. Additionally, I’ve experienced the best customer service I have in my whole life at Mata G. Definitely check it out. I don’t even like burritos but theirs are insanely delicious. You can’t go wrong with any of it.

One of my favorite vegetarian 🌱 places in NOB HILL: the burritos are soooo bomb 💣 especially the chickpea ones. The Strawberry 🍓 Lassi 🥛 is my favorite as well. Love the fusion style of food here.

I utilize Mata out of the TriAngle Grocery Store in Cedar Crest. The sandwiches are delicious, but are inconsistant with assembly, all bread no topping distributed through out the sandwich. I think the owner needs to do a secret shopper on the products to see what people are getting for their money on the items available out of the grocery stores.
