I’m excited to report that this casino is very generous! My sister and I visited from out of town and were able to play for hours. We went from machine to machine trying out different games from a penny to a dollar, and while some machines were a little tight, most were very generous with the bonuses and the winnings. With that, we were surprised at how lightly populated this location was on a Friday night. We were pretty much able to play whatever machine we wanted, and this was not the case when we visited pre-pandemic. We had a great time, and we will definitely be back the next time we’re in town! If you’re playing to win and not just for fun, I would highly recommend Santa Ana, where the machines are incredibly generous!

I'd like to start by preparing you and saying this is going to be a bad review and I would recommend reading this before you decide this is a place you would like to spend time at. Here are just a few reasons of why this is probably the worst stay at a hotel I have ever experienced. First, I couldn't get a single drop of hot water from the shower. This personally bothered me because the people nextdoor to us had the same problem and there wasn't much we could do about it. Next, there pool was very dirty. I read other reviews saying how nice the pool was but in my opinion it was quite unsanitary. Every time I swam under water there was dead bugs, clumps of hair, and random crumbs of food. Another thing was that there food wasn't the best. I paid $30 just for a plate of bad Mac n cheese. I posted a picture of the only view we had from our room window, if you do end up wanting a room with a view than I suggest telling them beforehand. For me this was not the best place to go. Also a heads up that I wish I had was that there is no alcohol beverages in the casino and kids cant go 6 away from their parents without getting yelled at. They do have a kids arcade and bowling alley above the casino but is only open from noon to 8:00. And when I say arcade I mean about 9 different games including claw machines. I really hope this helped give people a heads up and I don't mean to be rude but Santa Ana Casino Hotel, please fix this.

The hotel is lovely. However, we had an issue with our room. My husband and I live in Rio and we decided to go to this hotel for a night to ourselves without the kiddos. When we got to the room we realized that the toilet didn't flush right so we called the front desk and they said someone would be up shortly. We went down to the casino to play a little, made reservations at Juniper and then went back up to our room until our table was ready. The toilet seemed to work fine when we went back up. Later after dinner, which was amazing! We went back up to our room and settle in for bed. I woke up at 4 am and went to use the restroom and the toilet was not flushing again. I'm 6 months pregnant, I need to be able to use the restroom frequently. Since it was so early and we didn't feel like bothering them again we just checked out and went home. If the toilet was working fine we would of stayed no problem. Maybe another time we can try to stay there again because the rooms really are nice!

They have done away with room service, pool, and fitness room. They also halted their continental breakfast. They don't plainly mention that on the booking site. We are from Albuquerque so we just we just wanted to relax and enjoy what the hotel had to offer. When we found out they didn't have these services available when we arrived, and they didn't offer or allow a discount! The room was nice. Their food choices and layout of the food court are not that well thought out. It feels more like an airport than a comfortable place to get food. And most the food places were closed. It was very disappointing.

Not a very pleasant experience . Was our wedding weekend and we were staying at the resort for our wedding prep and wedding night. Hotel gave my bride the runaround when checking in. The hotel was aware it was our wedding getaway as we did list it in our reservation. We did not expect any extra amenities but I would’ve thought a bouquet of flowers or or something in the room congratulating us on our nuptials and thanking us for choosing their hotel to stay in. Last but not least, we could not get a late check out and the staff would not help us in any way. Will not be recommending the resort to any of our friends, family or coworkers. Just a bad experience.

I've driven by this hotel casino for years on trips between the four corners and Albuquerque. Never had a reason to pop in since I don't really gamble. I attended a work conference on school safety. The rooms were very nice. The hotel is just large enough to be interesting but small enough to walk through. The steakhouse on site is phenomenal! I highly recommend it as a site for professional conferences.

Great hotel and casino. The entire property is spotless. Great food in any of the restaurants and the food court is exceptional and so reasonably priced. Wonderful staff. Wonderful housekeeping, and especially a wonderful valet attendant by the name of Janelle, who we have dealt with six months ago, and during our current visit. Way to go, Janelle, and all other employees. Thank you for another wonderful little getaway.

We spent one night at Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel for a small get away. The room was really nice and clean. Only complaint about the room was the shower had sliding doors and water escaped during showers. Our view was really amazing. Big complaint is the staff allowed people to smoke cigarettes right out side the entrance. When we asked if there was a designated smoke area we were told that's were it was, next to the main entrance. This was very disgusting for people who care about their bodies and do not smoke cigarettes. Other than that, it is worth the price and the casino is very big.

Everything was great! EXCEPT a few days after the stay they hit my account with a $250 smoking fee. Which nobody in the room smoked anything at all. But the first lady was super kind and said they'd reverse that and apologized. A week later still no reversed charges. The second lady I spoke to must be their gate keeping bulldog. Super rude and told me to cancel my debit card to reverse it I did and got my $250 back. Check your account after you stay here!!

My wife and I celebrated Thanksgiving and our 5th wedding anniversary here. We had a delightful time. Awesome rooms, spectacular indoor pool! Everything we needed all on one road next to this immaculate hotel. Very quiet and beautiful rooms. We've already reserved our next stay this month. I can't say enough good about the splendor of Santa Anna Star Hotel! See the included videos to get a view for yourself.

One of the best experiences in our families life. Thought it was going to be the worst due to check in issues but the staff corrected the issue and were outstanding the entire stay. Went above and beyond for us. The pool is amazing and my kids had a blast. We don't gamble very often but still enjoyed the beautiful art and decor. The steakhouse is fantastic. Will definitely return.

Hotel is very, very nice. Great value, 8th floor room with a view was $122 including taxes and fees. Gaming area is mostly slots, a few tables, only one roulette. It was 50+ night when we were there. We both "won" - slots feel loose though there is no way to prove that. Everything is clean and the staff are friendly and warm. Coffee and food prices are very reasonable too.

Great place to stay! The pool is indoor/outdoor and open early to late. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. My only complaint was that breakfast at Home Plate was slow-: I think the restaurant had too many hostesses and not enough servers.

Stayed during Balloon Fiesta amid a cross country road trip. We arrived with our pet the night before that stayed in the room for 10 minutes exactly that made noise in the room but was picked up by my mother right away who lived close by (separation barking). There was a miscommunication at the hotel front desk and my reservation was cancelled. Upon trying to resolve the situation I was told my reservation could not be booked and I could not stay for the time the reservation was made (extra 2 days) with no explanation. I explained I had arrived from California and had no other place to stay. I was shut down and was treated pretty poorly during the interaction. My parents who are veterans in the military and long time patrons of the place came later and resolved the situation promptly with an agent who was on the later shift that day explaining the reservation was accidentally cancelled and we were able to stay the 2 days. We had an AMAZING and phenomenal experience it Juniper steakhouse and they accomodated our 6 person reservation and set us in an amazing room. Sports bar and Lounge was amazing and a frequent because of the customer service. It felt nice to feel noticed and remembered upon arriving. Hotel front desk really needs to work with understanding and reasoning and not be quick to kick someone off the property before hearing the situation.

Didn't rent a room or see them, but Santa Ana Star seems to have more giveaways and more of a relaxed atmosphere than other casinos. They have a good selection of games and their food court serves delicious authentic meals, usually priced $8-$9. The red chili is medium hot and is like a gravy, which I love on enchiladas and anything I can put it in! Hamburgers, chicken, french fries are all fried fresh and delicious!

I had the greatest time at Santa Ana Star. It's the complete experience. It's a wonderful hotel plus a huge casino. The staff was very courteous and attentive. Our room was not ready when we got there and we were given a free upgrade. Kudos to Santa Ana Star Hotel and Casino. Highly recommend it.

The entire staff: the front desk workers, the bell man, valets, restaurant, workers, the swimming pool attendant, the hard working people who clean the rooms...I mean everyone was friendly, helpful and made me feel special. Lucretia at the front desk was particularly helpful, I remember her name but they were all truly wonderful. The food was delicious, too!

So i was looking forward to a bath but my room only has a shower. Covid restrictions are over yet the pool, hot tub, and fitness center are still closed, and the room prices are still the same as if the amenities were open. And last this hotel says kid friendly but then only lets 21+ in the building... You can bring your dog but not your child. But the room is huge, has a great view, and if you cant sleep you can gamble downstairs instead and the gals at the hotel desk are super helpful and professional.

Great location lots of parking. VIP parking that is very secure as well. They have a bowling alley and a food court. Rooms were great and updated. Loved the lighted mirror in the bathroom. A few things that we didn't love. The huge downfall for us was once we checked in and started asking if the pool and the bowling alley were open, the lady at the desk told us that the pool closed at 9( and you needed wrist bands for) and the bowling alley was already closed for the night. She also mentioned that the hotel was not very kid friendly and that anyone under the age of 21 had to be with an adult at all times. There was NO continental breakfast or even food vouchers for guest. That is not even the kicker, they didn't even start serving food for breakfast in the food court until 8am on a week day! This location does not have a rv park either. If you are going with adults and are just gambling this would be a good place to stay.

Amazing hotel. Staying here for the balloon festival. Couldn't ask for nicer staff and every facility you could hope for. The rooms are spacious, with very comfortable beds, the bath room is well equipped with a good powerful shower. Safe, fridge, and large screen TV in the rooms. The two bars located within the casino are great. One sports bar with huge screens and a wide variety of beers and liquor. The other bar still has sports on multiple screens but is a little more suited to enjoying a drink and chatting and meeting people. Awesome hotel and will stay here again for the next festival.

We didn't stay at the hotel, We dined at Juniper Steakhouse twice while staying in the area. Walked through non smoking part of casino, didn't remotely smell like smoke. Everything was so clean! Wait staff, impeccable service, personable. Food was very good, visually pleasing. Prices very reasonable. Atmosphere relaxing without the pretentiousness. Highly recommend dining here.

Everyone here was very friendly and the room was beautiful. Parking was pretty easy and the hotel has lots of amenities. Unfortunately the walls are very thin, so we heard a baby crying next door for most of the evening, and one of the elevators was out of service so people were waiting a long time just to get into their rooms. If these issues were resolved I would definitely come back.

New snack bar is excellent. Sports bar good, Help not so much. One elevator working. 8 to 10 minute wait. Been this way a long time. Maybe financial issues. Fairly certain any parts would be available. Gas station excellent. Some wait staff think if you are given comp for something you are a low life. Other staff are excellent. Hotel was designed with three elevators. Borrow some money and let's use them.

I have had better casino nights in my basement. I had to go to a family event in the area so we chose to stay there. The rooms are good and clean, which is the only reason for the 2 stars. The staff is not the friendliest. They appear to work hard to put the smile on their face. When I went, half the restaurants in the Food Court were closed. Outside food is only allowed in your room and the room does not get cleaned during your stay so get ready to re live the days when you lived with roomates or in the dorms. The policies of the hotel change depending on who you ask. If you are not following the policy (even though you previously asked what the policy was), someone will come, this time, with a genuine smile to let you know what the policy is. The casino is kind of a joke. One Roulette table and one Craps table in the whole casino. The dealers I dealt with were a slow and at times clumsy. With other casinos in the area one would think they would try to compete for more business. I won't bring any of my money to this place again. The interesting part is that I actually won at the casino. The amount of money I won more than covered my room, food and drinks for the 2 nights I spent there with my wife and kids. I will take my money, and some of yours somewhere else.

Absolutely love this place. Best casino in the area. Great vibe! Love the casino employees. They are so gracious and helpful. The slot play here is pretty great as well - for slots 😊. You can play a long time on a smaller budget. You can’t expect to win every time, but you can bet on making things last awhile if you handle your cash right. They are definitely looser slots than anyone else I’ve seen in the area. Nice to come and unwind after work and have something to eat or drink. I have not seen the rooms, but the part of the casino I’ve seen is immaculate and comfortable with clean fresh air.

Was traveling thru and needed a bed to sleep in. Large spacious room, clean, and roomy. Bed was comfortable, but stiff. No tub, but big shower with great water pressure and a high shower head. Walking to the casino was easy. Parking is free and have valet if you want.

Had a great experience here! Actually felt like a guest and not a cash cow. Rooms are phenomenal for a low price. Food in lobby is phenomenal. Staff/dealers are super nice and helpful. Definitely recommend this casino hotel!

All employees were so friendly and welcoming. Rooms very clean and modern. Great price and no resort fees! Love that you don't see the casino unless you take the elevator from lobby. Nicer for kids that way. Would definitely return.

I had the pleasure of getting married at the Santa Ana Star & Casino with the help of a few outstanding wedding planners Heather Licata and Jarren Jackson who went above and beyond to make our special day a dream come true. Their attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to excellence transformed our wedding into an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, every step was meticulously executed, and their personalized approach made us feel like we were their only clients. The flawless execution of every detail on the wedding day, along with their availability and guidance throughout the planning process, left us in awe. We had a small wedding. But we were treated as though we had a 300+ wedding guests! We highly recommend this wedding planner for their dedication, expertise, and the magical moments they created. Our deepest gratitude for making our wedding day the most memorable experience of our lives! Deanna

Rooms are very spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Shower toiletries were great too. There is nothing worse than stinky products! Front desk people were very helpful and friendly. My only complaint is the restaurant mesa grill was just ok. Workers confused, a little chaotic, and not very friendly.

Casino floor has tons of slots, table game area is a decent size. A small bar sitting area is located across the table games (last call was at 11pm). This area is the only designated drinking area for alcohol on the casino floor. Food Court was empty didn't seem to be a favorite place to eat. The new menu did not have any of the old items from the previous snack bars before the renovation. Bowling alley is 21 and OVER, hours of operation are not the best (closed FRIDAYS and SATURDAYS). NO Alcohol or Food is sold in the bowling alley. Customers are allowed to take food, desserts and non alcoholic drinks for celebrations. However these items are to be consumed in the designated eating area and must be kept out of the play area at all times. This casino is a bit on the boring side when it comes to Fun and entertainment. The Slot Machines we're the best part of the evening.

The room was super neat and updated and the bed was insanely cozy! The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The only thing I didn’t like was that my pillow cases smelt like chlorine.. Overall though, great experience

We stayed at the Star for 3 nights during Balloon fiesta in a double queen room. The rooms/bathrooms are spacious, clean, plentiful towels/ toiletries and the hotel is well located near shopping. Your room key allows elevator entry onto guest floors which I really appreciated for some safety. The front desk was awesome and even took the time to correct a problem on my reservation. All staff from housekeeping to doorman were always helpful, kind and respectful. There is a Walmart and Albertsons nearby for anything forgotten. We did not eat at any of the restaurants. Loved the smoke free casino section. I wish more places did that also. Our window view was the lovely massive air conditioners on the roof. However, during fiesta which is packed, we didn't mind. It was mighty pricey, but that goes with the territory when the fiesta is in town. I knocked off one star for two reasons: 1. we could have really used a microwave. There is a very small refrigerator which was helpful. 2. Sure wished there was a bathtub. We would have no problems returning again sometime.

The rooms are great. The pool is great. Our bed was dirty but they went someone up in a timely manner and changed out the beds. The machines didn't really pay out but hey that's gambling. Overall we enjoyed staying there.

Nice casino hotel close to i-25. Casino was clean & fun. Steakhouse (juniper?) Was pretty good but prices are high for what you get. All sides are alacarte. Our hotel room was very hot & stuffy overnight. No matter what we did, we could not get air moving or even cool off the room until morning. For me, this is a deal breaker. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel

I was really pleased with this place. It was the nicest most well kept of the local casinos. (North Central New Mexico) The location isn't ideal, but if you're willing to drive a bit more for things outside of the resort, it's fine. The staff is really welcoming on all aspects. I was greeted by security, housekeeping, restaurant, and auxiliary staff. They didn't just greet and brush off they were engaging with my kids as well as myself. The facilities were clean and well kept. I took the family bowling, and it was my younger kids' first outing. They fully enjoyed the experience. Although it was a steep learning curve πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚ the cost of this place is really reasonable, especially for the available amenities.

This is one of the better Casinos in Albuquerque very spread out and plenty of room. They keep removing the machines I win on and replacing them with something else but it's the most convenient to my home.
