Clean and nicely appointed hotel. Older, but cleanliness means so much to us. Sonesta did not disappoint, and we would definitely stay there again.

I'm 32yo, I travel for work, I've stayed in literally HUNDREDS of hotels. This hotel is by far the WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. I had roaches crawling all over the place and the rooms were full so I sprayed 2 bottles of RAID in my room but still found at least 1 roach crawling around every day for the duration of my stay. One day I even found a centipede. I'm pretty laid back but this is easily the worst I've ever seen and couldnt stay quiet about it. Would give 0/5 if possible.

The hotel staff were talking about a bad customer who was harassing other customers when we walked in. It took them awhile to acknowledge us. The man who checked us in was friendly. The elevator sounded like it was struggling. The hotel as good potential but needs a facelift and higher standards for cleaning. The look of the room was not bad at first glance. Once we got a better look we noticed it was not cleaned very well. There were used earplugs on the side of the bed and a piece of what appeared to be a piece of chicken on the floor. We had a late night so didn't notice until the morning, the sheets were stained and had crumbs. We only slept in the bed, but I wish we noticed it before we slept in it. There were small hairs in the bathtub and the toilet paper holder was broken. It was well stocked with the essentials. When we got back to the hotel at night, there was a homeless person that seemed to be sleeping in front of the lobby. The security guard was standing there. I am not sure what was going on. I personally would not recommend the hotel or would stay here again.

Used to be a decent hotel but has gone downhill since the rebranding and change in management. The place is now absolutely swarming with roaches. There were dozens in the kitchen (including the sink and drawers) as well as the bathroom. A family member also noticed some in the stairwell and when they complained to the front desk, they just kind of shrugged it off like they were used to hearing that and didn't plan to do anything about it.

Hotel staff was very accommodating and very nice. Room was great, except the TV didn't work, but was ok with that. Pet friendly as well as I seen a few people with there pets! Great location, not far from food places.

Room was not serviced for our entire 6 night stay. Had to request towels at front desk. Priced too high for quality of stay. I know the Balloon Festival had a lot to die with prices, but still over priced. Cannot recommend.

Ok...so this place is definitely older...mmmmm not sure about the recent ratings and why theyre so high. The rooms are small, smell is old and musty(?) I asked for a late checkout and had to pay for it. ONLY place Ive stayed at and this has happened, in my entire life. One of the frontdesk staff had her high school friends over and they listened in on every transaction that took place. If comfort is not high on your list then this place shouldn't bother you if youre just looking for a place to sleep. I would not recommend this place as it is definitely "you get what you pay for".

Our room smelled like it had been cordoned off for months. I got the distinct impression this place limps through the rest of the year to gouge you during the one week anyone wants an extended stay in Albuquerque literally in the middle of nowhere. Staff was friendly and I particularly enjoyed the towel policy - if you know you know. Long story short: plan your balloon week far far in advance so you aren't on the less particular end of the selective scale.

I stayed here for one night on my way to southeastern Colorado, and I had a reservation to stay here again on my return trip a few days later. (More on that in a minute.) My room key failed twice, and I had to go to the front desk to have it reprogrammed. After the second time, I decided to stay in my room for the rest of the evening (it was getting close to the time I'd normally start getting ready for bed anyway.) The young man working the front desk was friendly and easygoing and didn't mind reprogramming my key for me -- I wish I'd gotten his name because he was very nice. The room itself was reasonably tidy, and the bathroom was especially clean. I did notice a few upholstery stains here and there in the living/dining area, but nothing too gross -- just wear and tear. The carpet seemed new. There was a coffee maker and coffee in the kitchenette area, but I did not see any coffee mugs. Personally, I found that more humorous than annoying, but it does show a lack of attention to detail. The worst part about my stay, and ultimately the thing that made me cancel the second night, was the location -- while convenient to the freeway, it felt extremely isolated/sketchy and I was genuinely concerned about my safety (as a woman traveling alone) and my car getting broken into. (I was concerned enough that I moved my car so I could see it -- and hear if the alarm went off -- from my room. I also made sure there was absolutely nothing visible in the car -- I've had cars burgled before and have no desire ever to experience that again.) I would consider a return visit if the management would consider upgrading the security in the parking lot and replacing the unreliable room lock/key system. I generally like Sonesta properties, but this one doesn't quite rise to the level of others in the chain.

The gym has no towels to wipe off sweat. No sanitation wipes are available. The gym shares the same room as the dryers so it gets very hot. The yoga mats are stained and disgusting. One of the 20 pound weights are missing. No water in the gym available to drink, only hot coffee. You can't even do pull ups since the roof is too low. The rooms were good size. However room service was not provided 2 days in a row when I asked! Nice fridge, closet, and desk. Bathroom shower is very low pressure. One of the door entrances is broken and can't even enter through there. No breakfast. Washer and dryer are $1.75 each so that's nice.

We stayed here while traveling to another state, and it was great decision. We checked in late and the night and the woman working the front desk, Rosebud, was amazing! She was so nice and helped get us all checked in, so we could get to our room and rest before another long drive the next day. The rooms were good and the bed was comfy. The hotel was far enough from the highway and down a side road, so it was quiet and easy to sleep. We appreciated Rosebud so much so, that when returning home we decided we would stay once again at this hotel. I definitely would recommend staying if you are looking for an affordable place to stay in Albuquerque.

I liked it a lot, it's clean, it doesn't smell like cigarettes, it has a stove, a refrigerator for people who last longer, the girl at the reception was very kind, thank you

They canceled my booking without notifying me, and told me that I can't book a new room until 4pm the next day despite having rooms available, after I'd just driven 12 hours to get here and arrived exhausted at 3am. They also would only talk to me through the locked door which was frustrating and difficult to understand. Never had a bad experience with a Sonesta before but this location made me feel very unwelcome and disrespected.

Great place you get what you pay for, the prices where a little high, but it was like being home and that made it worth while. I travel all the time for my job and it's worth a nicer rental a few times a month to relax and rewind. I get a cheap room somewhere else another time to average the rates out over a monthly budget... Thank you to the staff and management. Well done the place really is all that & you all keep it that way

Still my favorite place to stay in Albuquerque. Basic rooms are like mini efficiency apartments. Perfect for the long term stay. Prices are definitely higher than the last time we stayed, but no different than other hotels in area.

For our 10- day stay, we've been called twice (on day 2 and day 4) and asked why we haven't cleaned out our room. We've been called once to ask us to return to the front desk to pay our bill when they have our credit card on file. The towels were paper thin and you only get clean towels once every 7 days. We had to go to Costco to purchase additional towels.

I would never stay here again. They say this is a completely non-smoking hotel but with the first room (yes, first) they gave me I was greeted by cigarette smell as I opened the door. Then I looked up and saw someone had put a plastic bag over the smoke detector (Lovely!). I called down to the front desk and explained what happened. They were nice enough to give me another room. But now THIS room that I'm currently in ALSO smells like smoke. I'm not sure if people know this or not but they charge you $250 if you smoke in the room. I think they SHOULD be charged $2,500! After two room switches the third room smells OK. At least it doesn't smell like smoke. As I lay in bed, I still smell smoke and it's irritating my lungs. Either people next door are smoking or this old hotel was a smoking hotel at one time do the smell still lingers. The surrounding area is a little sketchy. It's kind of in this industrial park setting. Weird. And I think there are people who live here. The workout room is meh. It's better than some I've seen but the 10 and 15lb dumbbells were missing. And even though there are signs to clean your equipment, they don't provide any way to do it. The wet paper towel roll was out. Also, there was a water dispenser machine but there were no cups and it appeared to be broken, anyway. No towels, either, so bring one from the room. I know this is only a two star hotel but these are things that can easily be fixed. The attached "store" where they are supposed to have drinks and food and such was pretty bare. I wanted to buy some cereal for breakfast, which they had plenty of, but there was no milk. They also had a coffee machine which would have been nice if they actually had cups to put it in. The room itself is just okay. It's a bit dated but what do you expect for $90? Lesson learned: You get what you pay for. The only two nice things I have to say (so far) is that the guy at the front desk, Kevin, was nice and patient. He deserves a raise. And the shower has great water pressure. I'll be leaving REALLY early from here to get to my final destination. YUCK!

There's an foul odor in the hallway, and inside of the rooms. I'm pretty sure having a OUTSIDE trash bin INSIDE at the end of the exit door doesn't help. When I asked the lady about the smell at the front desk she simply replied, what smell. I bought three Air Wick plug-ins, but that made it worse. The small fan that circulate air from the livingroom to the bedroom doesn't work, and is full of dust. So the livingroom is cold while the bedroom is hot and stuffy. The housekeepers didn't clean the room well. I re-cleaned my entire room it was awful especially the kitchen, bedroom, and nightstand drawers. I stripped the bed so I can put my own sheets on and the mattress protector had what looked like dried up urine and blood stains. When I told the worker at the front desk about it she was nice, and immediately gave me a newer looking mattress protector cover. The last straw that made me check out of my room earlier was I pulled my curtains back to let some sun in, and a nice size roach was crawling on the curtains. When I told the worker about the roach, and other issues of why I was checking out early she didn't seen surprised or anything which tells me she knows the hotel is not in great shape.

Nice spacious rooms, courteous friendly staff and reasonable prices. There were a couple of "sketchy" characters lingering in the halls. not too bad compared to other hotels that I've visited while staying in Albuquerque. I would recommend this place to friends and family without children...

There always seems to be an issue at check in with either myself or other people with reservations. The front desk person is always polite and does their best but I think corporate could do a better job helping to make this experience better for all involved. The lady behind the desk was extremely friendly and did a really great job checking us in although she was stressed with the issues she was encountering through no fault of her own.

Stay was horrible. Dirty room, only thing decent was the lady front desk agent.. Manager over charged me. When I called I was promised a call back from management to discuss charges. And he never called. Now when I call I can’t speak to anyone!!! Overcharged me 300$ !!! That will not fly.

The front desk staff are very friendly. The rooms were decently cleaned but had a weird odor. The area is not the best. We heard a man screaming in the hall several times throughout the night. Due to safety reasons we decided to check out early and find another hotel.

There was a roach on the pillow when we came in but I was more grossed out by the shower that had several short black hairs in it and the bathroom floor didn’t appear to be swept and mopped. It had a lot of potential to be a nice place just needs to be cleaner.
