Today,
Monday,
I
had
an
appointment
for
11:30am
-
to
check
my
insect
bites
that
I
had
been
seen
for
on
the
previous
Friday.
I
signed
in
before
11am
and
was
told
that
I
might
not
be
seen
before
my
appointment
time.
I
noticed
that
many
people
who
came
in
after
me
were
being
seen
before
me
-
they
came
and
went.
At
11:30
am,
I
went
to
the
counter
to
ask
and
was
told
in
a
snippy
tone
that
there
was
probably
a
room
ready
for
me.
After
another
25
minutes
of
people
being
seen
before
me,
I
checked
again.
The
person
behind
the
counter
seemed
surprised
that
I
had
not
been
seen
yet
and
told
me
I
would
be
next.
After
another
10
minutes
and
several
more
people
being
taken
back,
I
was
finally
called
back.
The
person
who
took
me
back
said
that
they
always
take
"quick"
appointments
first
-
those
who
need
a
urine
test
or
some
kind
of
"quick"
shot,
etc.
I
thought
my
appointment
was
to
be
quick
as
well
so
this
did
not
seem
like
a
good
explanation
for
why
I
was
being
put
off.
After
another
30
minutes,
a
doctor
finally
came
in
to
see
me.
After
we
dealt
with
my
insect
bites
that
had,
in
fact,
become
infected
-
I
shared
my
frustration
with
the
system
or
protocol
that
left
me
sitting
while
others
were
taken
care
of.
The
doctor
told
me
that
there
are
2
paths
-
one
that
sees
a
doctor
and
the
other
that
does
not
see
a
doctor.
I
found
it
interesting
that
the
front
desk
did
not
explain
that
to
me.
Then
the
doctor
told
me
there
were
10
people
waiting
when
the
office
opened
at
8am
which
put
them
behind
all
day.
This
is
a
lousy
excuse!
It
was
after
2pm
when
I
was
finally
able
to
leave.
3
hours
is
an
unacceptable
amount
of
time,
given
I
had
an
appointment!
My
thinking
is
very
simple.
The
fact
that
I
had
an
appointment
means
that
I
should
not
have
to
wait
for
all
the
"walk-ins"
to
be
seen
before
I
am
seen.
Because
I
had
an
appointment,
at
11:30,
I
should
have
been
seen!
The
"walk-ins"
could
continue
to
be
seen
-
after
me.
In
all
fairness
to
those
who
actually
make
an
appointment,
the
system
needs
to
be
changed!
