😠 They are quick to collect co-pays but when it comes to actually taking care of you oh, that's a process. Maybe it's just my process but I can't leave a 5-star review. I have been unable to use my right arm for 3 months and after an MRI,t I've been told I have an angry shoulder??!!! Apparently we can... People often mention care, called, surgery, appointment, shoulder, time, months, told, doctor, patient,

They are quick to collect co-pays but when it comes to actually taking care of you oh, that's a process. Maybe it's just my process but I can't leave a 5-star review. I have been unable to use my right arm for 3 months and after an MRI,t I've been told I have an angry shoulder??!!! Apparently we can't treat an angry shoulder with anything other than physical therapy, but nobody can even touch the shoulder right now. There's a possibility of a slipping bicep? I'm not sure how this is all going to turn out, but I just can't recommend this group. The first doctor I saw was able to put a cortisone injection into it, but not here. I hope your experience is better than mine. They will happily text you and take huge co-pays over the phone to spend 10 minutes with you and tell you that they can't do anything. Good luck. Maybe my angry shoulder was just unbelievable and wasn't deserving of treatment. The funny part of this review is actually calling it an angry shoulder LOL 😠😠😠

lot's of problems. 1) provider: providers might be knowledgeable but the provider that I see is aggressive to his/her patient. instead of explaining the details nor alternative treatments, he/she just repeat the treatment only. he might be right but I feel very uncomfortable discussing with the provider. 2) online system works well for payment only. it has a message system but the care team does not respond to the message. this is very unprofessional manners. 3) explanation of the bill. they don't explain what they do and bill when I asked for it.

Warning! If you have a lawyer these people will not treat you. My lawyer advised I was not in litigation but a tort claim was filed. I called back as advised by the response and was told that because I had a lawyer that I could not be treated for the unhealed finger. They told me my hand was healed when it wasn't. Only the fracture was healed. The doc spent 20 seconds with me. 20 seconds! My primary care doc referred me on 3/12 for the unhealed finger. I finally called on 3/25 and was told they would Not treat me as I was in litigation. They did not tell this to my doctor nor myself until I called. I feel it is good to tell people not to go here if you have a lawyer so they won't waste their time. There are other Orthopedists in town who would gladly treat you.

Poor follow up care. My follow up appointment was mistakenly cancelled when I had to cancel/reschedule a physical therapy appointment. No one could tell me why this happened or apologized for the fact that I was physically present for an appointment that was not going to be honored and I now I am supposed to wait over a month for an appointment that was supposed to happen today. I left multiple messages both by patient portal and phone for medical records to be sent to another practice with absolutely no follow through from NM Orthopedics. This has been the worst experience.

Dr. Mulkey is great, but the staff has zero bed side manner, and acts as if you're bothering them. Why work with people who have medical conditions if you have no empathy or sympathy for people. My family has been trying to obtain my mother's medical records for over five months. Even her primary care Dr office has been trying to get the records and they have not received them from this facility. My mother cannot do her daily activities of living and we need help full time for her. We need a letter and need the records for this. They expect my mother in her condition to travel to pick up her records. We just need them sent to her primary at this point to get this letter written. What happened to caring for people and their quality of life. So disappointing!

I'm 46 yrs old. I've been a patient at NMOA for 8 yrs on and off. But understand that once you become an established patient with a doctor, you're their patient for 3 years...so choose wisely. And that is why I'm writing a review about my 2 excellent doctors and their staff. I needed a total hip replacement but because I was so young Dr. C. Patton was able to put off that procedure with injections for 2 yrs until the inevitable come, I medically needed the new hip. Dr. Tripraneni (my surgeon) and Dr. Patton worked together to discover I had a bacterial infection in my R hip. Dr. Tripraneni gave me my new hip 01/2017. I recovered quickly, no complications. It's a little over 1yr out from my surgery and I'm having a new medical issues on the R side in the muscles. I've gone to the ER 2x. After being released, I called NMOA to make an appt w/ Dr. Tripraneni. His Assistant Lydia called me back right away. She already knew about my condition, had already made me an appt. and even though Dr. Tripraneni was in surgery the day she called, she was able to reach him before she called me so she was able to answer all my questions. She showed true concern and empathy. I'm lucky she works for NMOA and Dr. Tripraneni. Lydia is really a hard worker too. Dr. Tripraneni and Dr. Patton have order a few more tests i.e. bloodwork, MRI, CT, etc... Lydia has taken care of everything for me and called me with every update and result. Dr. C. Patton, Dr. K. Tripraneni and Lydia are the reason NMOA is receiving 5 stars from me. These 3 really care about their patients and want the best for us. Below is the skeleton Dr. C. Patton was using during my office visit. Visual aids! Awesome!

Post op by about three days now. I had a very serious wrist bone dislocation that needed surgery to correct. This team has been absolutely amazing throughout my entire ordeal. They were able to quickly get me seen and scheduled for surgery. Dr. Refsland visited both before and after surgery, and he was friendly and patient with our questions. Still have another surgery to go, but I'm so glad I've trusted my care to NM Orthopedics. Keep up the great work team!

Dr. Allen and the entire staff were great! The cause of my tremendous knee pain was diagnosed and I was given a course of treatment that has helped my knee feel better and get stronger. Thank you!! Update: They are doing construction in February of 2019. Personal privacy is decreased in this time with my MA (at least) not closing the exam room door while asking personal questions in an abrupt rushed manner and the patients in the waiting room sitting right next to the Check in location where more private matters are discussed. I would wait with seeking treatment here until construction is finished and patient privacy is restored.

I went to New Mexico Orthopedics with pain in both knees, I'm 65 and figured that both knees were just worn out. They did x-rays and it showed that there was little to no cartridge left in them. Dr Ritchie was very informative and went over options of getting both knees replaced. I told him at this point and time I really could not be laid up for one month. I asked about Rooster Comb ( Viscosupplementation ) shots, he said that he thought that I would be a good candidate for them! He wanted me to do four weeks of PT first to get my knees and muscles in better shape. I did the PT and called to make an appointment for the first of three injections. On the first appointment Dr. Ritchie explained what he was going to do and went about giving me the injections, I didn't even feel the one in my right knee, felt a little in the left, he said that was it. I asked about doing my right knee, he smiled and said it's already done! I've had two injections so far and it feels like I have new knees, I've had no pain, I've had to learn to walk instead of the shuffle that I've been doing for over five years! Side note, I help a blind friend do a little grocery shopping on Fridays, he follows me with his right hand on my right shoulder, we were coming out of the store two weeks ago, and he said your knees must really be feeling better, he went on saying that was one of the fastest trips through the store ever, he could feel from my shoulder that I wasn't doing my usual walk! Dr. Ritchie repaired my left shoulder about twelve years ago and haven't had any problems with it since. From the Ladies at the very front desk, to the Nurses, everyone of them have gone above and beyond expectation!

Of all the doctors I've seen, I can't think of another doctor that deserves praise, accolades (and a raise) more than Terry Hansen, M.D.! He has always given me the time, and medical advice necessary for my health issues. With his "Can -do" attitude, knowledge, humor, and his awesome medical assistant, Monica Owens, he has been a blessing to me! Often the the two of them have been last in the office, working late, but have shared how they enjoy their work and that certainly is evident with the fine service I have always gotten. New Mexico Orthopaedics is fortunate to have such a dedicated doctor as Terry Hansen, ( and CMA: Monica Owens also! ) and we,as his patients, are fortunate as well!

The organization as a whole has been terrible and unorganized. Unprofessional and disrespectful. I have had nurses and nurse assistance be rude because of there unwilling to help. Almost as if the don't want to be there. The nurse in the MRI department was the worst of all, she was disrespectful, condescending, rude and would not listen to the issue at hand. When I tried to speak with her she shut the door on me until I knocked. She the proceeds to talk down to, saying " you need to figure it out ". I had an appointment at 9:30 am and couldn't find it. I showed my text indicating that I had an appointment. Apparently it was at 9pm, not only did I indicated I needed a morning appointment they still didn't have me scheduled for 9am or 9pm. The nurse didn't make it any better with her comments. I definitely was upset and had , they then canceled all of my physical therapy and MRI. I wouldn't recommend this organization to any one I love.

We had one bump in the road with a PT tech that didn’t show but overall this has been a wonderful experience! The professionalism and courtesy of the staff, the knowledge base of the professionals, and the care they provide have surpassed our expectations!

The care by ana smith has been great for my back injury. When we schedule a Saturday MRI on feb 22,2020 i arrived 15 minutes early so i could fill out paper work if needed, but no one was there at the NMO MRI. I waited almost an hour after my schedule time and no one still showed up. I knocked on the door and called numerous times, still calling today to attempt to reschedule it cause it is important for my follow in on Feb 25, 2020. If you need an MRI go to a different location i recommend. After numerous phone calls still havent gotten any help with the matter at hand.

What an efficient ortho group. I don't think I've had a more pleasant medical appt visit in my life as a 30-something year old with 2 kids! I was literally checked in and into an exam room in under 5 minutes. Under 10 minutes vitals with the nurse. In 15 getting x-rays. And then the doc was in shortly after and didn't rush through the consult time with me whatsoever. I was back in my car in under 50 minutes and felt I got every bit of care I deserved! What an excellent experience for a bad injury. Bonus fun of taking the colored path to your destination! My coworker went yellow and I the orange!

The woman Dr at the quick care clinic was disappointing. She didn’t want to listen to me about surgery on my clavicle. I asked for a sling that would be better for me because the other one I had from the ER didn’t feel very supportive. I read the notes from her in the portal. She lied about her counseling me on my weight and risks of surgery. I feel like it was a jab because the surgeon not only backed me on the procedure he insisted on a better sling. This is MY body. I was hurting way more than I should have been. I wasn’t going to heal anything with a sling on 50/50 chance of healing properly let alone end up on pain pills which is what I was afraid of happening. It’s bad enough my family has a history of substance abuse. I don’t want to join the line of succession because some Dr thinks it’s okay to ignore me and here keep this cheap sling and good luck? That really hurt. I hate complaining. This hurt. Also. I’m gonna write a separate glowing review for the surgeon because it meant a lot what he did for me.

I had a knee surgery on 1-19-23 three days later I called to request a prescription refill. The lady who answered my call said that she was going to call me later. She called me later and left a voicemail unfortunately she forgot to hang up the phone after leaving the voicemail and I was able to listen to the conversation she had with the on-call doctor regarding my prescription refill. This lady was suggesting that I was abusing my medication and that I shouldn’t get a refill. I was really shocked when I realized that she left that conversation in my voicemail by mistake. I was also disappointed to know that she did not care about my pain and situation. All she did was being judgmental without knowing my case and situation.

My husband, Jerry Jorgensen had a scheduled hip surgery with DR. Patrick Mulkey for Nov. 16. We have waited for this appt since August 1 . He is in pain . We were JUST told from Dr Mulkeys office staff that the surgery is CANCELLED !! because our insurance wouldn't cover some things, maybe at Presbyterian hospital.( they were not clear) However, according to the hospital and Blue Cross Blue Shield this was wrong. Our insurance will cover it, agents at Blue Cross and the business office at Presbyterian verified this and even spoke to Dr. Mulkey's office staff. This is not good practice! It is not caring and its seems after waiting 2 1/2 months we were dismissed arbitrarily. Something is clearly wrong. If Dr. Mulkey did not want to do this surgery he should have told us 2 1/2 months ago!!!! He takes Blue Cross Blue Shield !

Great experience with both hip replacements done by Dr Mulkey! Awesome surgeon and trusting him for my knees in the near future. The surgery center staff is amazing and it’s unbelievable that they have you in and out so quickly and efficiently!

Dr. McGee was straight forward and personable. It was a pleasure to be in the care of such a competent doctor. He listened to my concerns and was able to explain what treatment would be best for me at this time. I recommend Dr. McGee 100%

Waited 3 months for my appointment. They called me the day before my appointment to cancel bc my PT decided to take last minute PTO. They reschedule for another 2 months later. After almost 6 months of waiting for an appointment I decided to cancel
