My review is driven by the office staff. Every time I go there, they always make me feel like I'm a burden to them. One of the girls that works there (she's always dying her hair a different color) is rude and makes me feel so unwelcome. She never looks me in the eye and always has a condescending attitude towards me. I do everything I can not to engage in conversation with any them, other than yes, no, and thank you. I'm a patient of Dr. Leroy Pacheco. He is an outstanding doctor, very personal and extremely knowledgeable. He takes the time to get to know me and has meaningful conversations with me, both professionally and personally. I NEVER have to wait to see him. He is ALWAYS on time. He takes the time to listen and shares his personal experiences with me. I wouldn't see any other doctor but him. The office staff is not that helpful though. Every time I call them to inquire, they never seem to know what's going on. They also won't ever get back to you in a timely manner. It took me almost 2 months before they set up my patient portal access. In July, I called the office staff to verify if I had labs to do. I had to call the office staff several times before they finally got back to me. They assured me I did not have any labs scheduled. The next time I saw Dr. Pacheco, the first thing he asked me was if I got my labs done. I was very disappointed that the office staff gave me the wrong information. One of the girls that works there has the demeanor like I'm bothering her. So I interact with the office staff as little as possible. But seeing Dr. Pacheco makes it all the worth while.

Dr Dean has been my rheumatologist since 2009. She listens to my concerns and patiently works with me to get the best relief from my pain. She is open and supportive of all aspects of my regiment both biological and alternative medicine. During my appointments with Dr Dean she discusses my lab results and other tests in detail. If I have a question about adding a vitamin or alternative she looks up all factors and then we discuss how adding it will affect me. All members of the centerā€™s staff are professional and friendly. I always look forward to my visits as I feel confident and know I will be well taken care of there. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Dean or any other provider as my mom was also a patient of Dr Stoerner and I have also had an encounter with Dr Pacheco. The infusion room staff is also top notch and makes your infusion treatment very comfortable.

Watch out for this clinic. Iā€™ve been going to this clinic for seven months, after waiting five months for an appointment. I told them three months ago that my insurance was changing to BlueCross BlueShield, and they said, Excellent. Now, they informed me they take BCBS, but not my type of plan, so I suddenly have no more rheumatologist. The front desk staff was rude when they told me i couldnā€™t see any doctors there anymore, and they also tried to get me to pay an incorrect bill, because they entered my insurance info incorrectly. At the same time, I was calling Dr Dean for over a week to talk about new concerning symptoms, but she suddenly ā€œnever got my messagesā€ once the clinic decided they didnā€™t take my insurance plan. The staff also made it sound like it was my fault that i didnā€™t know they didnā€™t take my version of the insurance plan, even though they previously told me they took my insurance and never asked which plan i was on. Having an autoimmune disease is hard enough, but this treatment left me sicker and in much more pain. In these ways, Iā€™ve learned this is a dangerous clinic to put your trust in if you want healthcare. (Originally written in April.) Update: I have been begging this office for a week to simply respond if they will refill my meds or not, but no matter what I do, no one will respond to me. I took a month off from trying to get medical help, because my mom passed. Now, thereā€™s a ten-month wait for a new rheumatologist, and though Dr Dean has been my doctor, suddenly no one at this clinic will help me or return a call. I wish Iā€™d gone to a different rheumatologist for my diagnosis and meds. Where is there to turn?

These folks have been wonderful and very patient dealing with the insanity of my insurance company. Dr Dean is fantastic, she is very personable and willing to discuss any concerns I have and keep me up to date with the latest treatments available. It is nice to have a doctor who will take the time to talk to you. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The staff and doctors are very kind. When I was first diagnosed about 10 years ago, I was scared and wasnā€™t the patient. The staff and doctors were extremely kind and caring. They made me feel like it was OK to be scared. They were supportive and answered all my questions many times. Today Iā€™m better. Dr Stoerner worked hard to get me in a good place with the medication. It is easy to get in to see him for check ups and if there is something I need to discuss. I wouldnā€™t go anywhere else. They do a lot of studies and have the widest range of knowledge. Thank you to everyone at Albuquerque Center for Rhuematology

The front desk is welcoming in attitude, appearance and helpfulness. I had to wait longer than usual for Dr. Stoerner. I assume that was due to his consultation with the student he was mentoring. When he entered the exam room he brought with him a happy, energetic countenance. His demeanor is confident and he transfers that sense of well being to the patient. I hope he can teach his student how to create a feeling in the patient that she cares about the patient more than she cares about the specifics of the disease.

I waiting 3 months to get my appointment I showed up at my scheduled appointment time and they couldnā€™t see me because I didnā€™t fill out my paperwork which Is 8 pages of info.. which they said would take two hours. Paperwork which the physician probably wonā€™t read anyways because they already have my info. Next apt three more months. Organization with wait limits such as these should actively be recruiting new physicians to help carry the load. Also was the reason I wasnā€™t seen because I wasnā€™t white?

I highly recommend Dr. Pacheco. Iā€™ve been seeing him over 10 years and so happy I found him when my condition was at its worst. Now Iā€™m doing great and have him and all his staff to thank for their continued support and kindness over the years.

I'm calling this group Monday Oct. 8th. based on ratings. My prayer is they have knowledge of Sjƶgren's, Sytemic MAST Cell Activation Syndrome, Dysautomonia, MS and the other fun grab bag of the hell I'm currently living. My husband is a Railroader and we've been forced to relocate here from Colorado before i left i was hospitalized for IVIG transfusions for 6 days, I wasn't fun, i woke up one day and had no feeling from the waste down and then it slowly progressed up. I'm terrified I won't find a Dr. who cares (compassionate) or is knowledgeable, or if there is anyone out there that can really help me. I desperately want my life back, hiking, being active and not constantly fatigued to what seems a trance like state. I will re-rate then. I moved here from Colorado, Ive seen Immunologist, hematologist, neurologist, gastro, cardiologist, pulmonary and Nat Jewish Health. There has to be some one with answers! Desperately seeking my life back Mia

Dr.Dean has been my caregiver for over 10 years. Everyone in the office is caring and they do all they can to meet my needs on multiple levels. Living 5 months in Chicago for cancer issues this teen continued to care for throughout this time! I have referred others. My care excels with their help. At age 86, I am so grateful as is my family. Iā€™ve been seeing dr stoerner for over a year now and he is amazing thus far. What I appreciate about him the most is his thoroughness. He has been following up with me diligently since I was referred to him and has great bedside manner. He always comes into the room ready to listen and to go over labs if necessary. I love that he always wants to see any imaging or labs that my primary does because it shows how devoted he is to giving you answers and finding the right treatments for you. So grateful to have found such a great doctor

Dr. Leroy Pacheco is GREAT! Rheumatology is one of their specialties, and they treat osteoporosis as well. The staff there are courteous and knowlegeable, and can help the patient navigate through the insurance process as well. I highly recommend this practice!

Was able to diagnose carpal tunnel on first visit. After seeing a rheumatologist, from another practice who diagnosed it tendinitis. I lived with it for several years until I decided to see someone else. I was referred to Dr. Pacheco, who immediately recognized carpal tunnel, sent me for testing, and shortly after the surgery. His knowledge of arthritis is currently helping me understand my aging process. Great practice I highly recommend.

(Posting for my husband Clovis Perea) Dr. Pacheco is incredibly knowledgeable. He has been the only specialist to understand my condition and concerns and has helped me figure out what works best for me and my family. The front office staff used to be really horrific. So bad that I was contemplating risking my health in the hands of a different doctor. But this last visit the front office staff was pleasantā€¦Thank goodness!!!

Dr. Sterner is excellent. Really goes through and answers your questions. Front office is a little too robotic. They could lighten up. šŸ˜‰
