The Clyde was formerly a Hyatt Hotel, changing over on April 1st 2022. I am here for a writer's conference of over 600 attendees that was contracted with the Hyatt two years ago. My reservation has been made for quite a few months. I have no way of knowing whether the experience would've been different with the Hyatt hotel, but it can't have been any worse. At the outset, we were appalled at the $25 per day Amenity Fee that the new Clyde hotel is charging. It does include free parking, but most of the attendees FLEW. The few that did drive can't even use the parking that we don't need, because they don't allow it. It would seem that the new management MUST have known that the conference was booked long in advance. A crowd of 600 that take over your entire hotel would stick out. You would think that they would've arranged for adequate staffing - but, you'd be wrong. Skeleton crew at best, and that's with borrowing staff from other area properties. Waiting 40+ minutes for an elevator, and then being told "The problem is, you all want to use it at the same time." Inexcusable. Waiting 45+ minutes at the one bar for a drink? No one to clean up tables in the extended seating area, so we ended up bussing our own tables. No restaurant in the hotel? Room service orders that never show up? Food ordered at the bar takes 30-40 minutes to arrive, is cold when we get it, server doesn't bring napkins, condiments, salt & pepper. Two burgers, one Coke was $60. NO HOUSEKEEPING all day, and when I called at 5:30 pm to complain, I was told they were gone for the day. I had to beg for towel service, and that hasn't arrived yet after a half hour. So much for the quick shower I had hoped to take before a reception at 6:30 pm. Oh, and the "breakfast buffet" scheduled for tomorrow morning is $28 per person. Dinner buffet is $48 a head. With no restaurant in the hotel, I guess the management thinks they have a captive audience. Wrong. This is a crime fiction writer's conference. Imaginative ways to spread the word on these failures is not lacking. What is lacking is any chance we'll ever stay at any of the Heritage Properties, and a return visit to Albuquerque is dangling by a thread, too.

Actually it was probably a 3 not a 4 but they get an extra star for pleasantness and effort. It was less than a week since the Clyde took over from the Hyatt Regency and they were trying super hard to fulfill a contract they had not negotiated. The breakfast buffets were excellent. Our room service food Friday night was an obviously handmade burger that was exceptionally tasty. The hotel was VERY short staffed (maintenance, housekeeping, bars, food staff) - they didn’t have all their processes in place - but I didn’t get a single surly staff member, and frankly this could have been a total disaster. It wasn’t. Go Clyde!

Our room was very clean and the hotel was very quiet at night. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. On the downside, the hot tub was not working, and the elevators were a mess the first two days. We were not told when we checked in that we had to ask to have our room cleaned. I heard overheard it from someone. That should have been told to the first day. Also, and this is a biggie, the hotel had no restaurant-huh? A downtown hotel w/no restaurant? On the morning we left we noticed a very small coffee place, that I am not sure was open any other day during our stay.

Terrible service. Security threatened to drag me out of my room because they double booked my room. They didn't contact me to alert me of their mistake before calling their very aggressive security guards. Had I not been sleeping in the room, they would have thrown all my stuff out. The bed had dirty and unwashed sheets with disgusting body hair all over it. Everything was ridiculously overpriced and mediocre. The restaurant is understaffed, and they had just 1 person to act as a waiter and bartender for over 30 people. On the upside, they tried to make up for their mistakes by not charging me for the first night and giving me a free meal. However, I shouldn't have had to deal with their mistakes in the first place. Don't stay in this place. Its hot garbage. But if you do stay, make sure to ask for them to reimburse you for their bad service.

it was nice and luxury but the service was a little slow and the area around the hotel is a little sketchy. The hostess at the carries restaurant refused to offer or help us with any gluten free options besides telling us to go to the JC's pizza place nearby. she gave us false info saying that they have a separate oven for gluten free individuals, no surprise they didn't.

Hotel location ideal if you have business in downtown area. Be aware that Clyde Hotel is not near many vacationers Hot spots. No complimentary breakfast. Note also that On weekends hotel/restaurant/bar/gift shop have odd/limited hours. On weekends the whole area that The Clyde is located in is basically closed for the weekend which was an inconvenience. The actual room is nice; however, there was an issue with cooling down the room (we were offered a fan). On our last night a water leak outside the bathroom was also noticed and front desk was advised; which they sent up housekeeping to look at the leak. Change of room was NOT officially offered but since it was our last night we decided we’d just step over the saturated spot. Due to the air conditioning issue and water leak an adjustment on room cost would of been nice, but it was not offered. For the cost, overall stay was overpriced. The choice was on us for not researching hotel/area better; next time we’ll do better.

The rooms were decent albeit dated and moderately worn out, but the staff has big issues. I'm on day two of dealing with billing issues, and they are almost $200 over.  What's maddening is none of the 3 people I'm dealing with can seem to do basic math, transpose my 4-letter name, tell me where the discrepancy came from, or look at their own invoice. Additionally, we had a piece of equipment (confirmed) delivered there to use as a display for the trade show I was attending, and they lost it. After a half dozen calls, they eventually found it at the end of the last day of the show, so I never could use it. The manager kindly offered me breakfast for free, but they charged me for it. This was not the cause of the overcharge either. Plus their restaurant was often shut. They said they have problems staffing it, and the pool and spa were even closed down too. That was not mentioned in the booking or on their website. No fridge or microwave in the room either, and the vending machine went from $1 to $2.75 a snack while I was there, but what was really bizarre took the prices off the units after the increase. It was just a very disappointing experience, and I don't think I was being too picky. This brings me to the real problem with this place. Downtown Albuquerque has really fallen down hard. The shops are mostly boarded up, and it's absolutely a ghost town and food desert except for the drugged-out homeless wandering and sleeping on the streets. It is quite sad and really sketchy. You can't walk anywhere safely near The Clyde. My advice is to stay at a hotel outside the city limits if you go to Albuquerque and if you need to stay by the Convention Center choose the Hilton Double Tree, but avoid The Clyde like the plague.

Well...The room was spacious and clean but lacking a few expected amenities. Our room did have a refrigerator but we were expecting a microwave and a chair, to sit at the desk, for working. There was no place to sit and relax other than one straight back chair but the beds are very comfortable and inviting. The hotel itself is a soup sandwich. The ice machines were all broken except for 2 floors and most of the equipment in the gym was inoperable. Their saving grace was...actually 2 things. Charlie and valet staff were super nice guys and helped with ideas for shopping and food tips. The front desk staff were also very helpful in guiding us towards interesting things to do and see.

False advertising: After a long drive across the country from Missouri, my family was looking forward to a nice place to spend the evening. We had read online several appealing features that this hotel offered such as a rooftop pool, hot tub, sauna, restaurant, and on-site Starbucks. When we arrived, the hot tub and sauna were both out of service, the "rooftop" pool is not on the roof of the 20-story building as implied. It is instead on the roof of the second floor out to the side of the building and the walls are so high around the pool that you don't get any view as you would expect with a "rooftop" pool. The pool also closed an hour earlier than the time posted on the door which meant we only got to enjoy it for 15 minutes. The restaurant and Starbucks were both closed as well. Also, be aware that if you go out to eat somewhere else, most fast food restaurants nearby are Drive-Thru only. This is obviously not the hotel's fault, but just something to be aware of.

I had the most pleasant stay at the Clyde in Albuquerque New Mexico. I have lived in Albuquerque in the past, I had never had the opportunity to stay in this hotel. I heard it was a Hyatt prior to my stay. I loved the photos they had of Clyde Tingley around, just the small things they are attempting to do to to bring back that era is a great touch. The room was clean and comfortable. Room service was not pricey and the food was in abundance, and extremely tasty. I didn't find that it was over the top with price at all. What I did find here that I have never found in another place I have stayed is compassion and empathy. I had been sick when I checked in, the second night of my stay I had coughed all night long. When I called to order Breakfast they sent a very nice young man with my food. He dropped it off and about 3 minutes later he knocked on my door. He asked my if I would like for him to bring my some hot tea, some lemon and honey. My throat was on fire, and my voice was raspy due to all the coughing......he was my life saver. I will never forget my stay here as long as I can remember, thank you you for your compassion and willingness to go out of your way when seeing that someone else doesn't feel quit on top. You went that extra mile, and for that I am grateful for you. Can't wait to stay there again .THANK YOU!!! Julie

Imagine a non functional hotel where the hot tub does not worked since February. Only 50% of the evaluators worked, and you wait for 5 or 10 minutes to get to the lobby. Warm water was not working everyday. Personal is friendly but understaffed. Reception is very unfriendly and does not care about things not working. The amazing part is they charge a service fee per day for all things not working. They offered me to remove it from my bill once the manager is available. However, they never sent me the bill.

I would say it's in the bottom 5 hotels I've ever stayed in. I'm not sure where to start. When I checked in it was very busy and very slow to check in. There was 4 of them but it was taking about 8 min per person it felt like. Way too long. Got to my room. Realized after a bit that my AC was set to 60, but was maybe 75. Next day has to switch. Go to the next room and wow... TV didn't work. Couldn't turn down the volume and couldn't even turn it off, it would come back on. Had to unplug it lol. The WiFi is very spotty here. Will connect and disconnect at any time. Didn't connect for the first few hours. Had to use my phone. The bath tub drain was so slow I stood in water taking a shower. The light switch is broken. You can't take the stairs, it will lock you out. So you need to wait 10 min to go up and down one thought by the elevator when busy. On the 17th the elevator down button is not functional (face palm). The ice machine is broken here on 8. Again need to go up one flight via elevator and that machine just ran out lol.... My mini fridge looks like it was stolen from a dumpster. The floor and overall decor is something from the 90s I feel. Clearly not been updated in 20+ years. Luckily this AC actually works. The only good thing I can say is that the staff was very nice and kind and got me this sweet new room where nothing works lol. But they were actually nice. Just this place is a s^*+ hole.

I secured this place for my birthday but was very late checking in. I called ahead of course, but for some reason the information didn't get conveyed to the third shift personnel. But it was fine. My agent checked me in, apparently doing a lot of fenagling around an otherwise booked evening, and even managed to get me a bit of an upgrade in lieu of my birthday. The next day, I was sent up a complementary platter of sweets also, so just really great service all around. I had stayed here before some years ago when it was still a Hyatt . They seem to be struggling a bit to claw back some of that prestige but the place itself is still phenomenal. Gorgeous out door pool. An expansive 24 hour fitness center. However, they no longer operate the elaborate male/female separated sauna and spa facilities from their heydays. None of that really matters though. Especially right now, as The Clyde is aggressively seeking to reclaim its Hyatt bona fides, you will find some deep discounts associated with this property that don't seem possible to count on in the future. Definitely a recommended addition to Albuquerque's rarefied family of upscale downtown hotel properties.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at The Clyde Hotel. The remodels in the lobby, bar, and restaurant are gorgeous and have the classic art deco aesthetic with modern touches. The customer service was commendable! The manager, Mr. Ortiz, was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about local fares. The restaurant on-site, Carrie’s, was delicious and affordable for its higher end quality. We will look forward to visiting again and excited to see the new room designs! Location was fantastic being right in the middle of downtown. The views were amazing from our room showcasing the city and the volcanic mountains in the distance. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!

The staff were lovely for the most part and very cordial. Despite their efforts, our stay was atrocious. The ADA room really wasn’t; it only offered one king bed and no seat for the shower. The entrance to the room had a draft stopper that was incredibly difficult to roll over. Our entire group got various holds on their credit cards from $750 to $1200, even though we were told there would be a $25 hold for incidentals. After a four day stay this ‘mistaken’ hold was still in n place. We scheduled a reception in one of the hotel areas and it was mainly only reachable by stairs. To access it with a walker I had to enter a coded door and walk down an incredibly long hallway. There was a service elevator the hotel did not offer use of.

Ugh! The hotel has charm and potential, but I have had a terrible experience here. Firstly, the mattress covers were loaded with dog hair. I didn't make an issue of it. I have dogs too, so I just notified them after chekout of the hair that I noticed (just before checkout) and they said they would tell the housekeepers. Second, my rooms cost $341.96 total. They explained the incidental deposit so I was not surprised to see a hold that totaled $447.96 because of the refundable deposit. I expected the $100 deposit (50 for each room) to go back into my account. No big deal. The big deal happened the next day when there were charges totaling $341.96. So now, I have $783.92 pulled from my account. I texted Guest Services and showed where I had been double charged. The person texted back and explained that there was a system error and they reversed the charge. I asked for a receipt of the reversal because, at this point, I just don't trust strangers with their word. After asking for a receipt of the reversal, it turned into, "it wasn't a reversal." It was just a hold and we have no receipts for holds. And then explained that it would be back in my account and that it was the hold, but the second charges were the actual payment and that if I have two separate charges it is my bank's fault. Etc. etc. I just want to warn absolutely everyone that the "deposit" they hold from your account is NOT $50 like they tell you. It is the cost of the room + $50. Then they are going to charge your card again while you wait up to 10 days for that original cost of the room + $50 to be put back into your account. I have never stayed at a hotel where the deposit hold amount was higher than the actual cost of the room. It is absolutely ridiculous. I did escalate the situation to management and management also continued to gaslight me and sent me paperwork, but none of the paperwork reflects the receipt I requested, it only shows the two charges.

The hotel has this 1930's-30's vibe. The decor is lovely. The little touches are throughout, from the pretty hall table right inside your room to the little brass touches and comfortable classy seating in common areas. The valet staff are friendly and on-point with luggage care and local must-sees. The front desk staff make you feel like a friend, not a customer. The bar has a superb wine selection. It's not vast, just quite well selected. Local brews are on tap. The rooms were clean and very spacious. And the Starbucks right in the lobby was so convenient, with its own awesome friendly staff.

This hotel is downtown and the building is part of the skyline. There are some places nearby to go to eat, but a lot of this area appears to be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is valet parking available or you can park in the parking garage under the building after checking in. The staff were all very nice but the place needs some work. The pool was closed the entire week I was there and each day there was a different reason so I’m not sure if it will be operating soon. Most of the elevators do not work it seems. Your credit card gets charged quite for some deposits so be prepared to have a hold on your card for a while. The rooms are as expected for hotel rooms. I didn’t have a room with a view, but I think some do. The conference rooms are absolutely freezing cold so bring a jacket if you’re using their meeting rooms.

Excellent service. Great view of the mountains. Good sized outdoor pool. Great gift shop. It's part of the ABQ downtown skyline. Marty's the best. They have a restaurant and lounge. Great breakfast starts at 7:00 for us early risers.

This is an outstanding hotel. From the time that you check in to the time that you check out, Yesena was friendly, courteous, and she always had a smile on her face. You can tell Yesena enjoys working there and She's appreciative and happy to help you with whatever you need. They have lots of parking spaces and even on the busiest day we were able to find a parking spot. We spent 4 days at this hotel, and it was a very pleasant stay. I would highly recommend this hotel property to any one staying in the Albuquerque area.

So impressed with this hotel. Was greeted and checked in by a lovely young man named Martin. He was very informative and nice and was happy to answer all of my questions. The hotel itself has beautiful views all around and we were lucky enough to watch the snow fall from our room. Food is incredible! Very much enjoyed the “Christmas “ chile. Room service was top notch. All around Class act hotel and staff. Can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I stayed recently on business. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Valet parking was professional and helpful. Rooms were very nice, large bathrooms, full shower and tub. Had a wonderful view of downtown and city skyline. Close to just about everything. Would definitely stay again!

Currently staying at the Clyde. I am impressed by their hospitality. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and have a great view of hills and the city. The staff is extremely warm and helping. They are always ready to help, special mention of Mr Martin at front desk, who went out of his way to help. I look forward to visiting again. Highly recommend Clyde hotel for the stays.

We did not stay at the hotel. We had a great date night. Went to dinner with friends and then to The Clyde Hotel for the Candlelight show. We were the 2nd showing, so we got a drink and waited for the early one to end and the doors to open. The ushers were great and we got good seats. The music was awesome, and the atmosphere was perfect. After the event, it was easy to exit out on 4th St. We will definitely be back!!

Well worth paying a little bit extra to get a room that feels elegant, clean, and safe in downtown Albuquerque! Front desk staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Love the classic art deco style to the whole place. Parking is available in a garage under the hotel. The room doesn't have that typical "weird hotel smell". Comfortable and cozy pillow-top bed with plenty of soft, fluffy pillows. A Keurig in-room. Very nicely scented shampoos/soaps. Fitness center open 24 hrs. Room service is available. Hot tub does not function and the ice machine on my floor was out of order.

I was there almost 4 weeks ago now & still haven't received my $50 deposit for the room back on my debit card yet. They said it would be back on there in 3-5 business days, I'm still waiting. I've talked to them on the phone last week. Not sure if it's on their end or my debit card banks end though. The room was great, housekeeping was great, the bartenders were awesome, the restaurant was awesome, the pool was perfect. I have no complaints whatsoever about our actual stay. It's very convenient in it's location too.

Shante helped us out tremendously and she’s so amazing super talented. The staff is super friendly and will work with you. Very helpful finding us a good stay at there establishment. Forgot to mention the help of the IT crew Lindsey, who was the key factoring leading the way to help my crew get our jobs done smoothly. Thank you all!

I am so disappointed and upset with this hotel. From booking to staying - a nightmare. The worse: having to stay for the whole week. I had to make special requests due to some current special needs. They were not absurd requests. They were reasonable and easy to accomplish. I am a seasoned traveler. I have stayed in many different hotels in the US, Europe, and Canada. When I go to a 4-star hotel, I expect 4-star service (cleaniness, comfort, attentive and knowledgeable staff). Well, I have stayed in 3-star hotels a few times that were better ten times than this one. Here are just SOME of the issues: - I requested a room with a walk-in/roll-in shower as I cannot climb over a tub. Request made before coming (I called ahead of time). The first room they gave me was with a tub. I called and asked to be moved. The second room was a walk-in/accessible, but old, hair on the floor of the shower, poorly cleaned sink. - There was no full-body mirror. Just half body in the bathroom. - There was no shelf in the shower where to place the shampoos/conditioner. Had to place them on the floor. For someone who cannot bend out, this is a problem. I told them that I needed at least a small stool where I could place them during my shower. They brought me a massive plastic chair for people who are in wheelchairs. The chair takes half of the shower space and makes it hard to shower with that in there. I decided not to complain again. - When I had a shower the water overflowed and inundated the bathroom. I ended up slipping and falling. - I asked for a feather-free room. This request was also made in advance as I phoned the hotel directly before coming, and again when I arrived. The room was NOT feather-free. Result? Allergies abound, poor sleep, itchiness. I decided not to complain again. - The duvet has no cover (like a washable case like other hotels have so that it can be washed between clients). They just put a lose sheet on top. Really disgusting. Feathers coming through the mesh of the fabric. I had to get that out of my bed. - The bottom sheet does not cover the whole mattress. I wake up with the sheet moved up and my skin exposed to the mattress. - There is a bad smell in the room that I felt as soon as I arrived and got worse every time the air conditioning turned on. I had to use vic vapor rub under my nose. - Andre's no cleaning or making the bed. They don't even check the room to replenish shampoos, tissue or toilet paper. I had to call and ask for it. There are other things that happened. But I gave up complaining or trying to get better service.

Impressive Lobby, solid bar and the Clyde is staffed by a professional and friendly staff, from Valet to Front Desk to bartenders, all top notch. Nice room on a quiet floor, no fridge in our room but we didn’t ask for one, coffee maker, a/c and everything in the room worked. Would definitely consider the Clyde next time I’m in Albuquerque.

The hotel was nice and when we walked through the doors my daughter said “This is fancy!”. One thing to know is that the beds are true doubles so sleeping two people, even my two petite girls, is very tight. Also, half the bed was soft and the other half more firm. This could be okay for two people if they like different things, but it was a bit uncomfortable to try to sleep in the middle as a single sleeper. The outside noise, both from the road and other guests, was very easily drowned out by turning on the fan on the thermostat. The front desk was pleasant and check in was very quick. The parking feels secure and is well lit. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to book as the cost is well worth what we received.

I haven't even left yet but I wanted to write this review. This hotel is amazing. This is my first time in ABQ and I didn't know what to expect (especially booking a hotel), but I'm glad I picked The Clyde. The bed has to be my favorite thing. I drove for 11 hours yesterday from Dallas so the first thing I did after putting my stuff down was lay on the bed. I did not get up for at least five hours except to use the restroom. I even missed dinner because I was so incredibly comfortable. Speaking of the bathroom, it was incredibly clean and very modern, which I'm a huge fan of modern design. It was almost as if I stepped into a remodeled bathroom that has never been used. It was spotless and the amenities were perfect. I feel like the price was fair. I don't normally stay at four star hotels because I'm always arriving late and leaving early, but my boss told me I could sleep in so I knew I had to book at the nicest hotel with the most comfortable looking/sounding bed. And even though the cost for the night was more than the allowance I get for hotel rooms, the rest that I paid out of my own pocket was 100% worth it. I will definitely be staying at The Clyde the next time I come to ABQ. 10/10 experience. I will be recommending this hotel to my friends and family. 🙂

Amenities were super cool and Hotel was beautiful, staff was nice and helpful, but the rooms that you sleep in for a good nights rest were awful. My first room had random droplets of blood on the sheets so we changed. The next room was miserably hot, and everyone we talked to said the same thing. Each room was muggy and with a weird smell. We turned the temperature to 60° but it was blowing hot air and the 1 fan they gave us was the only thing that got us through the last night. I honestly can't say I will ever stay here again.

What an amazing experience it has been to stay here. The hotel is super on point with the 1920’s theme. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms quite noice and well-stocked. Their restaurant is very nicely decorated and their food is delicious and well-priced. Their staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly. I 100% would recommend you stay here and experience the Clyde hotel yourself. You will not regret it.

Rooms overdue for an update, TV didnt really work, hotel is operating with hardly any staff, limited services/amenities open, bar/restaurant not open, and even the starbucks in the building has reduced hours. I was given keys to a room that someone was already checked into and in bed when I opened the door, unaware of this. They charge a resort fee, yet have no resort amenities open. Room had 2 towels, no hand towels. The downtown area around the hotel seems unsafe, with many homeless people, including a few that were aggressive in their efforts to ask for money. The hotel keeps most of its entances locked, which seemed to be for the safety of guests and employees. Areas like Uptown feel much safer.

This is a beautiful hotel! They really put a lot into restoring it to have a 1920s look and feel. The valet service is very nice and the number of them were dressed up in 1920s uniforms front office was helpful and courteous. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The only critique I have on the rooms is that the bed I slept in was a touch on the overly soft and lumpy side. However the hotel offers a lot of other amenities that are worth checking out I stayed here on a business trip for the meeting on the 19th floor.
