This
place
is
a
true
Michigan
gem.
It's
lovingly
cared
for,
wild,
and
scenic.
Great
swimming
in
many
areas.
The
back
country
campsites
are
spectacular.
They
are
primitive
and
remote....
Expect
to
carry
in
or
filter
water
from
the
lake,
use
a
vault
privie
with
no
roof,
and
either
hang
your
food
from
a
bear
pole
or
use
a
bear
box
(both
are
provided)
.
Be
prepared
to
cut
(down
and
dead)
firewood
if
you're
camping....
Bring
a
saw.
I
had
to
hike
a
bit
from
my
campsite
to
find
anything
to
cut.
So
you'll
probably
need
to
cut
and
carry
firewood
from
some
distance.
The
trail
in
is
easy
....
Flat,
well
used
and
marked,
with
bridges
over
mucky
areas,
and
a
few
benches.
The
public
beach
is
lovely,
there's
good
rock
hunting
up
toward
the
point
if
you're
into
hiking
to
other
parts
of
the
shoreline.
Great
trail
system.
The
drive
in
on
the
two
track
sand
trail
road
is
ok
most
of
the
time
but
I
would
imagine
you
need
4
wheel
drive
occasionally.
It's
all
sand.
