The hotel charged 205 Euros to my credit card without reason and without notice. Now they claim that it takes up to 7 days to refund the money. Very strange business policies so you better be careful.

Really struggling to figure out why this place is 5 star. Where to start... We booked on booking.com due to the staff of Caro hotel confirming on the website the restaurant would be open on Christmas, but when we arrived we found out this was not the case. So we were left with the options on a fairly pitiful room service, with miniscule portions of sandwiches served with bags of crisps, at extortionate prices. Next the room, a very low slung bed in a room best described as dingy - which really applies to the whole place. There is not a single space in the hotel that we found which could be described as well/appropriately lit. The nighttime was also terrible. Very little sound proofing at windows and doors for other guests coming and going. Also the pillow in the room was a disaster (although a pillow menu is available - found on the last night)... it was akin to trying to find comfort on a bag of cement! The morning of Christmas we requested an iron to be told that they did not have one available for clients. This is my first experience of this in a long history of staying in hotels. They then added the ironing charge to the bill without informing us first that the service cost money. The only saving grace was the breakfast and the service which was very pleasant and nice choice of cooked options. Having said that, it was pretty bad having to pay full price for a 4 year old. Will not be back! And would advise others to steer clear.

We started two nights in Valencia at the Caro Hotel. I had studied all of the nicer hotels in the city and was so glad Caro was available. We were impressed from the moment we arrived. Staff were kind and welcoming. They spent time explaining the area and giving us recommendations of what to see and where to eat. We were pleased to see that two of our planned food stops were their recommendations as well: Central Bar at the market and La Salita. Both were outstanding. The room was cool and quiet. The bathtub was a luxury and the shower had great pressure. The hotel bar made interesting cocktails and the outdoor area next to the pool is a great place to have drinks. The location was good particularly for walking around the old city. And we walked a lot. When we return to Valencia we hope Hotel Caro is again available!

SERVICE: We stayed here for a week and couldn't have had a better time! The staff were fantastic - attentive, friendly and always on hand to help, they really made it a special experience. I celebrated my birthday during my stay and they were kind enough to leave a card, a dessert treat and a small bottle of champagne. Lastly, I love that the hotel is small as well which makes it a more personalised experience. FOOD: We had breakfast every morning and it was always great, after a while the waitress started to remember our orders! There's a small and standard buffet but you can order extras such as porridge, eggs, sausages etc. LOCATION: I was hesitant to book this hotel because it seemed secluded and I was worried it would be hard to get to places. I was wrong! It's so easy to walk anywhere and you're stones throw away from the centre with lots of restaurants etc but the benefit is it's on a quiet road so there's no noise - perfect balance! ROOMS: The bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on and I liked the fact the showers are separate from the bath itself. Everything was fine with the room but be aware there aren't any kettles in them so if you love tea before bed like me then you've got to ask for a kettle which they readily give to you. The same goes for an iron. The only small thing is that I would have loved just one or two more lights in the room so we could see around the bed area at night better. In summary, I will definitely stay at Caro Hotel again. If you're staying in Valencia I highly highly recommend Caro Hotel!!

Amazing hotel in Valencia! I came here with my family for my wedding and all the staff was over the top helpful and very friendly. The rooms were very nice and the pool and bar area was a fun place to hang out with everyone. The restaurant downstairs has an amazing menu. The location is great too, only a few minute walk to bars, restaurants, and shopping. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Valencia and we will stay here any time we visit!

Loved this hotel. They preserved many antique features in the rooms and open areas. Breakfast was in the basement area lightened by a glass roof between buildings. We sat next to the Arabic walls - just amazing. They had probably the best breakfast menu I've ever seen and if you're a breakfast person, this is your heaven! The bar had a great selection and all hotel staf was very friendly. Hotel staff will park your car so that you don"t have to worry getting around the old city traffic infrastructure. Would definitely recommend it and will be back one day!

During my time in Valencia, I had the fortunate opportunity to spend a night at the incredible Caro Hotel. Set within a 19th-century palace, the 5-star Caro Hotel is an exceptional monumental hotel in the heart of Valencia’s historic Old Town. With plenty of historical elements, a mesmerising blend of ancient and modern architecture, and a distinctive sophisticated character, Hotel Caro truly makes for an unforgettable experience. Add to that the most friendly staff, excellent gastronomical offerings, an outdoor pool with a terrace and a top-notch location near the best things to do in Valencia, and you know you’ve stumbled upon something out of the ordinary! Staying at Caro Hotel is simply exceptional, making my time in 'la capital del Turia' one to remember!

My husband and I were in Valencia for one day and I wish we would have been there longer. From the moment we walked in, the staff was so welcoming and provided exceptional service. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, each room is different and it’s boutique style and size! The location is perfect and everything in walking distance! Gracias Caro Hotel!

Beautiful design merging Roman elements with latest modern design and it works. Very relaxed and elegant you cannot find a better placed to stay in old town Valencia. Excellent service too so cannot be faulted. We moved on to Hospes Valencia and although a completely different vibe, would recommend Caro. Very well priced given the quality of product too and nice touches like free mini fridge and proper coffee and tea brought to the room on demand. Spectacular room - we stayed in the Armoury. Lovely sun trap balcony and very spacious. Design was classic modern - beautiful!

This is a fantastic hotel. We are currently 3 nights into our stay and couldn't be happier. Location is unbeatable for Old Town. Staff very friendly and courteous. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with even a free minibar. It has a bar and restaurant, but no gym (it is a boutique hotel after all). Would definitely stay here again.

High-end boutique hotel ideally situated in a quiet, but central, area, set in a beautifully renovated historical building. The staff was friendly, considerate and helpful. Highly recommended.

Included in the price of your stay is free admission to the incredible museum and living history that is the hotel itself. If you are a history or archaeology lover, this is absolutely the best place to stay. Despite being carved out of a historical structure, the space is highly modern and clean. The staff was very friendly and catered to every wish or question we had. Our room had luxury amenities and the room service was better than expected. Breakfast in the morning was fresh, the dining area is surrounded by more history, and the waitress was lovely. Every detail from check-in to check-out added to the positive experience. Although we stayed 8 months ago, we still remember it clearly. Amazing hotel!

Caro Hotel is a hidden gem in Valencia Spain. The hotel is well maintained, the interior is full of beautiful characters, the employees are professional and welcoming, and the location is perfect. I'll stay in the hotel again.

Great hotel in the perfect location and awesome staff. We arrived very early to check in and wanted to leave our bags. Nothing was too much trouble, whilst we had a drink they not only prepared a room for us and also upgraded us so that we could check in 4 hours early. I am ceoliac and the options fir a gluten free breakfast were endless. We couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Very quiet hotel in an ideal location. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and they made great restaurant recommendations. Lovely room as well. Only downside is that the hotel doesn’t have a lot of natural light.

Perhaps the most interesting hotel we have ever stayed in. This hotel has been repurposed over the millenia. It has some Moorish ,Roman, medieval, and Renaissance features and artifacts. It's most significant iteration was a mid 1800 luxury palace of a wealthy family. The hotel has gone to great lengths to preserve elements of each era. Every room has its own history which is described with qrc codes. Every effort is made to give the room the flavor of its past. This is the opposite of tacky. It feels authentic. Our room was large, comfortable, and extremely well designed. The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. Although we were within a 5 to 10 minute walk to the cathedral and main PLAZA, the hotel and immediate surroundings were quiet and peaceful. In summary, it would be hard to find a better hotel.

Quality of service and location is what makes Hotel Caro stand out. We have stayed in many hotels in Valencia but this one had by far the best service by a mile. Very friendly staff, free coffee and tea service brought to your room, free minibar and treats left in your room throughout the day. The room itself was maybe a bit too "designy" and minimalistic to my taste but very comfortable and with a wonderful bath. High end toiletries were supplied. Location is perfect to explore or to go to meetings in the city, and the road is very quiet. The pool is more decorative than practical but it didn't affect our stay. The hotel is on a pricey side but with prices in Valencia going as they are, I'd rather spend a bit more and stay at Caro.

Rating: 8/10 Room: as advertised, pretty spacious, with great A/C. Work desk in the room is a great size and good for laptop work. Comfort: the bed is very hard, like most Spanish beds. The pillow choices are great though. The blackout blinds work great, and the A/C is really good. Didn't use the TV, but it's behind the mirror in the bedroom which is cool. Wardrobes are a good size, and the fridge is useful (and with free snacks/drinks). The only downside is that the room is quite noisy, mainly from the sound of chairs and cleaners on the floors above, the lobby, and the school next door. Amenities: wifi is great and room service is really good, very tasty and a good variety of things. Location: well located for the center and going to the park. Close to some grocery stores too. Price: a bit pricey, but worth it for what you get. Other: all the hotel staff are lovely, kind and friendly.

This is one of the best hotels I ever visited. It’s very minimalistic with beautifully designed and spotless rooms. The service is excellent and special thanks to Mr. Alejandro. But all the people working there are truly great and will make sure your stay is special. The swimming pool is tiny but nicely located outside next to the bar.

We booked this hotel for a birthday celebration. We were a party of nine. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, to the moment we left 3 days later, we were given a fantastic personal service from everyone involved with the hotel. The location is excellent, right in the city centre and within walking distance of everything. If you’re thinking of visiting Valencia, The Cato Hotel is where you should stay. The rooms were first class, and immaculate. A pillow menu was provided to all guests which ensured a comfortable nights sleep. What could they have done better, absolutely nothing. Outstanding and reasonably priced as well. We will be going again. Thank you to everyone 👏🏻👏🏻

We haven't checked out yet and l have never written a review before leaving but this hotel has exceeded our expectation with impeccable service and attention to detail. Highly recommend this stay in this Valencia gem! Do not second guess this for location, cleanliness and customer service!

Beautiful hotel in a very unique location. The staff is really friendly and also helps you with any requests. We loved the coffee delivery to the room every morning and the terrace with the pool. We will definitely come back when we’re in Valencia again.

Fantastic boutique hotel with very attentive staff that can’t do enough for you. Inclusive breakfast was great. Pool is strangely narrow but fun to stand in with a drink on a hot day. Definitely come back again 👍🏼😉👍🏼

Lovely hotel, with passionate, friendly and competent staff. The breakfast was very nice with plentiful options for every taste. The only downsides were the slightly grimy pool and the missing lights in the shower.

Stayed here last week. Hotel perfection. Amazing service. Beautiful bar. Lovely touches like a free tea menu and pillow menu. Very central location. Around the corner from the central square. Would love to come back. Immaculately clean and jaw dropping design. Pieces of the original Roman wall remain and are dotted around the hotel.

Located smack dab in the center of the historic city center; chic and minimalistic hotel in a former palace with antique relics showcased throughout; the BEST bed we’ve slept in with a plethora of pillow options; we indulged with room service; a bit hairy to get to with a car but they offer valet parking; highly recommend for a luxurious stay.

We stayed here for three nights. Probably the most attentive and service-oriented hotel staff I have ever experienced. Super clean rooms, evening turndown service. Helpful staff always ready to assist and answer any questions. In a safe area, within walking distance to virtually anywhere in the city. My only gripe would be parking. You can pay for parking service or park in garage 3 blocks away. Neither is cheap - 23-25E a day. But parking seems to be an issue in any big city in Europe. Would definitely stay here again!

An amazing boutique hotel in the centre of Valencia. The design and style of the rooms is incredible, and the service from the team is 10/10. We were upgraded to the loft room which was magical - definitely coming back.

Stayed here for two nights with some friends. It’s a small boutique hotel with I think, 26 rooms. The rooms were nice, and the bed very comfy…but maybe a bit too low for me as I have a bad back. From what I saw none of them have a particularly great view. The minibar and snacks are included in the price of the room, however there are no alcoholic drinks in the fridge 🙁. Coffee and tea were via room service and delivered very promptly after ordering on the phone (these are also included in the room price). Valencia is a great city, the hotel is located in the old part and is perfect for Virgin Sq (few minutes walk) where there are loads of cafes and street performers. Actually based on what I saw of Valencia the hotel is in a quiet street in a near perfect position. Finally the staff could not of been more friendly or helpful.

we had booked in April very spontaneously a night at the Caro Hotel traveling from Madrid. The hotel is very tastefully integrated in a historic location. Even the smallest room category is very spacious and historical elements of the building beautifully integrated into the design. The very tasteful color concept and the materials used are very atmospheric and one of the reasons to book this hotel again. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very quiet and restrained. Although the hotel was opened 10 years ago, there is no impression that there is no investment in maintenance. In addition to a generously stocked minibar (free of charge), there is the possibility to order a welcome drink at the bar, which is also included in the price. overall, an extremely fair price-performance ratio. We were able to check in a few hours earlier and also used the room much longer than planned. this was subject to availability at no additional cost. If I ever visit Valencia again, this hotel will be my first choice. In the rooms you have access to a Netflix account, which makes the stay in the rooms even more enjoyable. If you look for a nice view, you may need to book a certain category, as our rooms view wasnt' that spectacular, however this has not negatively afffected the experience at all.

The Caro Hotel is a five-star hotel in the heart of Valencia, 5 mins walking from Virgin square. An urban and commercially independent hotel, its 26 rooms, each unique in their own right, and gastronomic restaurant are fine examples of the singular and highly respectful integration of its contemporary interior design, characterised by clean, geometric lines, designed by Francesc Rifé, with the building's original historical, architectural features. Under the eclectic appearance of a nineteenth-century palace, the hotel walls guard a legacy of more than 2,000 years of history, including an original mosaic from Valencia's creation in the Roman era. The 13th century Arabic defensive wall, several Gothic arches, and nineteenth-century constructions, which, combined with its warm, friendly, client-focused service, make this establishment a high-quality must for all travelers who want to enjoy a memorable hotel experience from a different perspective.

Lovely, clean, minimalistic hotel but maintaining character by including Arabic features in various places in the hotel. Great location. Staff were amazingly helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble - extra towels, adapters, more water, maps with local sights explained, restaurants booked for you etc etc. A Lovely large clean modern room. Bed very comfortable. Coffee service delivered to your room however I personally would prefer a machine or kettle in my room. Restaurant food was excellent.

Absolutely amazing. The staff here is what made our stay so great- they were all so helpful and welcoming! From check in to check out, they helped with luggage, getting a taxi, offering beverages, giving recommendations on what to see/do, went over a map of Valencia with us, and refreshed the room every night. Cannot compliment them enough! The hotel itself is GORGEOUS. So much history and it’s so cool how there are videos about everything that you can watch. We loved our room with our private balcony, so minimal and romantic. I can’t wait to go back one day- favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

We loved it! Great atmosphere, beautiful building and a very service minded, friendly staff. We are definitely coming back to stay at Caro hotel next time we are in Valencia! We stayed for two nights. The staff literally went out their way to make it the best possible experience for us. When we arrived, while waiting for the room, we were offered a drink and we received a quick 5-10 minutes guide to Valencia - what to visit, recommended places to eat, and how to navigate around the city. The staff also offered to book a table for dinner and lunch for us. The minibar and snacks in the room are free. Coffee and tea were delivered promptly via room service after ordering on the phone (for free). It was my hubby’s Birthday on the second day of our stay and the staff delivered a delicious cake and Cava to our room with a card saying happy birthday. Valencia is a very romantic and elegant city. The hotel is perfectly located in the old part of the city a few streets away from the busy night life on a quiet street - and very close to the park that crosses through the city which is very convenient if you’re renting bikes to see the city. All in all - great experience.

Beautiful boutique hotel! The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The room was very cozy and gorgeous. They stacked the mini fridge with complimentary goodies! The location is ideal as it is close to nearby cafes and restaurants but without the noise from the streets. The bed was so comfortable I missed my alarm and kept sleeping! We loved staying at Caro Hotel.

The Caro Hotel in Valencia, converted C19 mansion of the Marques de Caro, is a beautiful hotel. Roman walls and floors have been incorporated into the renovations in the dining room and some of the bedrooms. There are only 26 rooms, but each one has its own special features – a Moorish wall, an arch, heavy timber beams. There is a lovely outdoor courtyard, with a tiny picturesque swimming pool, adjacent to the bar. The atmospheric restaurant serves delicious food for breakfast, and at night. But what makes the Caro stand out from other lovely hotels is the staff. There are many reviews of many hotels that comment on ‘friendly staff’, but the difference with the Caro is that the staff are friendly with each other as well as with their guests. There is a happiness about it as a ‘workplace’ that is very rare in our experience. This must contribute to their extra efforts to make you feel at home – the welcome drink on arrival, the little treats on turned down beds at night, free coffee to your room on request. Some of the staff with whom we made friends (hello, Sonia and Diego!) told us how well they had been looked after during the hotel’s 2-year covid closure. We will be back. Max and Margaret ...M&M
