Been twice on a 4 day break. Lovely food at very reasonable prices. Good selection of beers. Very friendly staff. Best venue locally. I'll definitely be back. Compliments to the chef.

Warm sunny afternoon first visit to the nags head, very welcoming hosts. We called for food and drinks. Family of 3 Food was very good, lovely atmosphere enjoyed the drinks as well. Will return with extended family next time. Thank you

We are regulars here for a cold drink after our dog walk, but today was the first day we ate here and had a Sunday roast. We don’t eat out often because honestly we always find that either the food or the staff aren’t up to much. I can honestly say that today I’ve found our new go-to place for tasty,home cooked , fantastic food and friendly, efficient, smiling staff!! Special mention to Megan who ensured every part of our visit was spot on! We will certainly be returning soon not just for our post dog walk drink but for the fantastic food and experience that’s on offer here! Great team, lovely atmosphere, tasty food!

Absolutely blown away by the food absolutely massive portions second to none service and well priced would give more than 5 stars if I could!!

The pub has recently undergone new management and this was the first time going. We booked for Sunday lunch and both had a starter and main. The food was really nice and there was a good choice on the menu. We didn't have to wait long for our food either. Service was good and we had a friendly welcome. Would go back again. The outside area looked nice and I can imagine it would be a good spot when the weather is on our side.

Outstanding service, incredible food, great atmosphere! We went for dinner on a Saturday night at very short notice (due to being let down elsewhere), and were greeted by very friendly, welcoming staff. We had two people looking after us for the majority of the night, and both were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The waiter brought a side plate out for us and as he was placing it on the table, he noticed a mark in the middle of the plate and immediately took it back to replace it before we said anything! The food was absolutely delicious, good portion sizes and beautifully presented! 10/10 would recommend and will be returning!

The staff very friendly and provided a good service, no issues here. The Sunday beef lunch was a huge disappointment and I felt I had to leave feedback. The table adjacent to me had exactly the same issues. Beef was not rare as stated but bloody and leaking blood onto the plate, it was also cold meat. The roast potatoes were served white in colour and tasteless, The whole carrots served, which there were two, one was rock hard and the other cooked nicely. Yorkshire puddings were cold. I have been there previously a number of times for Sunday lunch and it was always very good. It was a birthday celebration, let down on the day. However, I am sure these issues will be put in order quickly and the place will be a very good place to dine once again. They did apologise and adjust the bill, but still the amount paid was not at all value for money.

It was my first time visiting this lovely place with my family to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday last night. Great staff, lovely food, very welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you so much for an enjoyable evening. We will be back soon!

Starter was okay (prawn cocktail) but after that, things went a little pear shaped. I opted for salad but everything was rock hard / over cooked i.e. The chicken, the bacon and the croutons. I was also missing a boiled egg which was eventually brought to me a little later. The genuine, roaring fire was a nice, welcome feature and the waiting-on was good but overall I felt the menu was a little pretentious. Will NOT be attending again

Great meal here this lunchtime. 4 people each had something different and all were very good.

Newly opened under new management so still settling in , but main meal was good service was excellent but the chef needs to make some adjustments on portion size of the desserts !! Desserts were served so small that the spoon was larger than the dessert, these were returned and " good old ice cream served - not really what we wanted ☹. Overall, we would return to try again and hopefully they will have settled in and made some adjustments, worth a try.

What a great evening at one of my favourite venues over many years ! Except for the occupancy previously to the now exceptional occupancy! The staff, though only just taken on this new venue still excelled! The meal I had was one I can say was really fantastic. Lovely pretty pub, staff warm and friendly. Excellent food and lovely setting. The only down side was the portions were a little small. My husband had Sea bass pasta dish, beautifully cooked and presented but just slightly too small and it was quite pricey at £22. I had pie, mash and roasted root veg £17, pie was steak again beautiful, full pie but small portion of mash but for me the issue was lack of veg. 1 roasted carrot and 1 roast parsnip not enough vegetables.

Lovely place that holds the worst beer I've ever tasted,the lager was dreadful,the bitter even worse,and the guinness was shocking beyond belief, all I seen all day was people taking their drinks back,wouldn't go back anytime soon

Nice pub with large beer garden at the front (roadside) or side. Friendly staff and fairly busy for a Saturday afternoon. 3 cask handpulls offering Shropshire gold, 6x and one other. Looks like it shows all sports having sky TV etc. Nice stop off place if passing through Rossett

The atmosphere is really good and welcoming. And the food is wonderful too!! They are no ordinary pub food, everything is fresh and homemade hence the price is more restaurant price. If you think it's a bit too dear, you can always go at lunch time when they have set menu price, or 2-4-1 pizza day, which is Thursday I think. You can call them for different requirement, they are very helpful.

Anything less than 5 stars would be a travesty! Staying locally and went for a walk and just popped in, and found proper pub atmosphere with top quality restaurant food at a fair price. Really friendly helpful staff, immaculately clean toilets, good choice of beers & wines. We enjoyed the experience so much, we're already planing to drive 40 minutes to try their Sunday lunch!

Very clean premises, staff were very friendly and attentive without being over powering. People seated behind s were eating, food looked lovely. Will be back soon to try the food

Another great meal out at the Nags Head I'm Lavister. I had the battered Haddock and everything was great on the plate. Partner had the chicken Chowder and all good. Shared a dessert...wish I could fit more in but the main meal was plenty!

Really decent pub with good beers, bar area and great segregated area for food too if you were just out for a meal. Friendly staff, good atmosphere and a pool table in the bar. Outside is covered so could sit out if you wanted too.
