Amazing experience, front desk staff were wonderfully professional and very helpful, making check-in a breeze. BUFFET breakfast is back! Fresh food in a gorgeous spread with staff constantly checking and renewing food. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.

I like the Intercontinental. It's looking a bit tired, but I understand they are working through an upgrade. They have the BEST water pressure showers ever! The beds are comfortable and room amenities are reasonable - recently including coffee pod machine in the room. Dining and drinks prices are what you might expect from this grade of hotel: really like the Korean chicken bites. On the downside, some guests have no idea how to behave: putting your feet on the table is not what I expect to see in the dining area.

Great location, we caught the train here for our stay. Train station is right next to the Intercontinental. As we entered the hotel, we were offered a complimentary glass of wine. We noticed everyone else in queue to check in, were enjoying a wine however neither of us drink so it was a little disappointing that there were no other drink options offered. Our room was very spacious, tidy and comfortable. I loved the bathroom! Buffet breakfast was chaotic. There was no strategic system for seating. We had booked the night before but still had to wait for a table to be cleared. I found it very odd that each time we wanted a coffee, I had to go looking for a staff member to ask for one. It seemed strange that everything else was on offer to self serve except for coffee. Staff at check in and check out were very friendly. Breakfast, dining staff seemed unorganised & unfriendly.

Stayed 1 night while attending the Santas Snowy Christmas for work function at Convention Centre. Room was clean & tidy. I did request light milk on our booking special request section, which was obviously overlooked because all we found was full cream milk in our fridge. I thought the kettle sitting on a rather small shelf was positioned in an awkward spot, way too small & not enough room to on that shelf to spread cups saucers mugs out comfortably, plus the fridge no where close to tea & coffee facility, the fridge is located in a cupboard under the TV, so your going from one section to another to make a hot drink. The room was meant to have city views but the room we were given didn't have those specific views. We did have a nice breakfast the next morning. The king size bed offered a comfortable nights sleep. I thought the dressing gowns were very small, my hubby could not fit into them. No shower caps on offer in bathroom, we always normally find one is supplied in bathrooms in other places we've stayed at. I was willing to offer some ideas I thought would improve the room as I have worked in this area of guest services in town before, but no one got back to me to hear my ideas. But it is a lovely place to stay in city.

Arrived for a business meeting and convenor was running late. Went to the bistro and ordered a hot Latte. Perfect. Great service from Ash who was extremely friendly and efficient. Great area for a lunch or a drink. I had forgotten how nice it was. Valet parking at the front were warm and friendly. Great work intercontinental!!

Stayed at this place while on company business. It is an old 5 star hotel. This seemed to obvious from the appearance of the lobby and the room I was in. But service was good. Everything one would expect from a 5 star. The price was good. The company paid 180 per night. This is without the valet parking which is an additional 50 dollars per night. There was no complimentary parking. Close to restaurants, parks and the Adelaide Oval. This place has a top class gym and swimming pool

Wow and just wow! Friendly Staff make such a difference and they did incredible work: from checking in to checking out- super helpful and friendly. Hotel itself is well located, close to everything yet very peaceful surroundings. Beds are very comfortable and the showers are fantastic! Great water pressure that makes a huge difference. All in all very pleasant stay- I will be back for sure.

I have been staying at this hotel for 25 years. My last visit in October was a little disappointing. Lack of preparation for my arrival lead to a very long check in process and unfortunately I was not given the room type I prefer. On a very positive note the club lounge was excellent and food choices the best they have ever been at this hotel. The staff in the club were also outstanding. I also appreciated the lovely welcoming amenities.

Super convenient well located Hotel in Adelaide. We were down for a conference next door, no issues with check in and check out, bags were held no problems. Staff were friendly. The rooms are very spacious but are most probably in need of a refresh now, I’ve used this hotel for 10 years and I can’t remember a change. New carpet or couch in the room would help. Will stay again though because the convenience and size of the room is perfect.

Our stay was OK. No complaints about the room and decor. Staff attentiveness was pretty good overall. What irritated me is the restaurant “deal” for two courses was $69 yet the most expensive combination of main and starter totalled $70 and every other single allowable combination was way less than $69. Are they trying to trick us into paying more or is it just a mistake?

Excellent hotel. Neat, clean rooms with all the facilities you might need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good. We stayed on a package deal which was very generous. Included room, parking, breakfast and $50 credit towards dinner. Good views. All round a very pleasant stay.

I have to admit the rooms are VERY dated to the point I question the cleanliness of the floor carpet and the couch. However what makes me come back here instead of other IHG hotels in ADL is the staff. The staff especially at the club lounge are always friendly and helpful. Afternoon tea at the club lounge is always a delight and evening canapes are pleasant too. Location is also fantastic right next to the river, casino, and shopping.

Travelled for business and stayed 6 nights. Amazing experience, great and friendly staff, always willing to help. The room was always clean and super comfortable. I had the best sleep ever at this hotel!

The hotel has a great reputation and while it is very nice and the staff are great, it is not quite as nice as we expected. The rooms are smaller than the pictures suggest. We stayed 2 nights and the restaurant was closed. Not bad overall, but better value can be found nearby.

Popped in for a one night stay while on holiday to kangaroo island. Utilized points and had a wonderful stay conveniently located downtown. Room was modern and well kept. Restaurant and ambassador club were fantastic quality and staff were all fantastic and friendly. Can't wait to stay again.

The staff were very welcoming as we entered the hotel. Our room was lovely with a beautiful view over the River Torrens and Parklands. The only negative with the room was the shabby wardrobe and fridge area which was really in need of an update. The location is spot on with easy car parking and the tram stop outside. We had a breakfast package which was amazing, the breakfast bruschetta with avocado and poached eggs was delicious as was the granola and range of fruit toppings. Great coffee too. A fantastic two night getaway for our Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Visited here today. It was the best choice. The drinks were made to perfection. The ambience was really good. And most importantly, the customer service is very satisfying and good. I ordered the peach and pineapple cooler. And it was really good. Also special mention to the bar attendants, Joel and Abhinav, they were on par. Highly recommend this venue to everyone.

Would not recommend. They take extra money. I was charged $574 extra and it's 3 weeks later and I haven't received it back. It was a fault on their end yet we had to pay the concequences. We had travelled 5 hrs to get to the hotel, we were then short $574 for our trip. I noticed the double charge and spoke to several workers and a lady who stated she was the manager, yet on these reviews it is a different person stating to be the manager. Nothing was offered for us until I sent an email to this supposed manager, Holly stating I'd like to send a formal complaint. She said we could have breakfast in the morning and parking for 1 day. And now 2.5 weeks later has said we can have tea their??? We live 5 hrs away, that offer should have been offered when we were staying their in our stressful time from their error. Will never stay there again due to this porbsbly happening again. We still have not received our money back 3 weeks later. Super unprofessional

We had a wonderful stay at the Intercontinental. The room was beautiful and the location was excellent.... especially for staying for the footy. Public transportation is easily accessible and also close by. The buffet breakfast was excellent as well and we could each eat on our own time. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Adelaide.

Returned after nearly 15 years for a weekend stay. Hotel has excellent location, and our suite was showing its age but was well maintained, and the staff were amazing. Loved the quality of breakfasts and evening drinks in the Intercontinental Club.

A lovely place to stay in the centre of Adelaide. The staff at the reception are very good and efficient. This place is very close to many of the tourist attractions and the railway station, tram and bus services are just a few steps away. The Adelaide oval is just behind the hotel and you get lovely views of it if you are staying in the north side rooms. The Torrens river bank is near the hotel and walks along the promenade is beautiful. The breakfast spread is very good and the staff courteous. Highly recommend when in Adelaide

I travel a fair bit and stay at hotels here there and everywhere. I've come not to expect much and I am grateful when there is a pod coffee machine instead of instant, so arriving at the Intercontinental was like, wow! Did I have the right place, this looked far more flash than the budget normally allowed! From the person meeting me at the door to take my luggage to the bathroom that had a bath.(and shower) robes and slippers. And there was a pod coffee machine, winner!!! Such great value for money! I'll never stay anywhere else when in Adelaide.

Great place if you're visiting to attend the convention centre as it's next door. Rooms are a bit tight, and the doors sometimes block cabinets opening. The bathroom is large but the door is narrow too. Clean rooms, friendly staff and some nice places to eat. Breakfast buffet it's packed with a lot of options; I could never fit it all in. Close to everything worth seeing in the city.

Please be aware of their very misleading terms and conditions. We cancelled at last minute due to contracting covid. I was aware that I would lose a deposit if we cancelled after a particular date and prepared to accept that. They had originally taken my full payment of nearly $1000. When I asked for the balance to be refunded to me they refused. The confirmation of my booking I received did not indicate at all that I would lose the full payment only deposit. If I had have known that would never have booked with them.

Third stay here. The staff are always lovely, particularly in the Executive Lounge. Great views over the river and right next to the main railway station and tram service. One of our favourite hotels anywhere.

The best hotel experience I've ever had. We came for a conference, brought our baby, we were flustered and stressed but the helpful staff made it a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable experience. Food was delicious. I can't speak highly enough.

Our experience at the Intercontinental hotel in Adelaide was rather ordinary. The rooms felt a bit dated, relying mainly on lamps for lighting, and lacked ample power points for charging devices in the bedroom. The buffet breakfast was passable, but it didn't quite justify the additional expense. The hallways had noticeably dirty and stained carpets, which was a bit off-putting. The bed was less than comfortable, leading to a restless night and making one's partner feel like they were on an air mattress. On a positive note, the staff members were genuinely kind and attentive. Valet parking proved to be a bit challenging at times, as it wasn't always easy to locate the valet team outside. It's advisable to call at least 30 minutes ahead of time if you need your car. Overall, our stay didn't live up to the expectations one might associate with a 5-star rating. However, the location was undeniably excellent.

Room is a bit dated but large and comfortable. Bed and pillows to die for. Plenty of places to eat and very centrally located with the trains, buses and trams right outside your door for transportation. Went to see Miss Saigon, which was a short two minute walk to the Festival Theatre. Always stay there as the pricing and location is good.

The hotel decor is very dated. Spacious room, very clean and tidy. The bathroom tiles is lol. Amenity provided is decent. Bed is comfortable and room temperature is fine. The soundproofing could have been better. Hotel staffs were friendly and polite. Breakfast buffet was better than I expected. Overall a very pleasant 5 day stay.

Haven’t stayed yet, but bitterly disappointed to have received a lovely voucher to stay here for $350, only to book with friends who have a $200 special on that got the same as us but also free parking (we would be charged $50!) absolutely ridiculous

I like this place due to attractive interior, great service and nice breakfast. It's nice to spend time in a hotel which doesn't devote all internal spaces to rooms.

The Intercontinental is a must. Such a lovely atmosphere with brilliant service and lovely interior, very fancy. The hotel room my partner and I stayed in was amazing, set with a stunning view of Adelaide Oval and the River Torrens. The space was great, the bathroom had a bath! The bed was so comfy. I can't fault anything. The food was outstanding. I definitely want to come back here.

Our favourite hotel to stay at in Adelaide! The customer service is great, we found all staff to be friendly and go above and beyond where they can. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the views are spectacular (especially on the 19th floor where we stayed). The food we've always found to be delicious. We look forward to staying here again soon!

Very good overnight stay. Lovely room with a fabulous Eastern view, good service, quite reasonably priced and heaps of good restaurants nearby. Only difference is parking in the neighbouring Convention Centre which is franked by the hotel on check-out. Worthwhile for a break

We had a really lovely stay at the InterContinental Adelaide. The service was excellent - the staff were helpful and very friendly. The gym was large and really good. The heated pool was great - it was lovely having a morning swim and doing some laps. We also had a huge buffet breakfast.

  • 5/5 Michelle P. 2 years ago on Google
The room was well appointed with everything you need. The decor shows the age of the hotel but still certainly of standard. The room and bathroom both spacious. Our package included breakfast for two, a $50 food and beverage voucher and welcome drinks so we enjoyed dinner in the Atrium bar and then breakfast in the Riverside restaurant..both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. We will stay again.

Great stay. Prime location. Would have loved valet parking but there is a garage less than 100m away and the hotel will validate the ticket for you. Room was very clean and comfortable, only issues were the shower door let quite a bit of water out and the pillows were too soft for us, but I found out in the morning that I could have asked to change them over for firmer ones. Check in was busy but still easy enough and check out took about 30 seconds. If you intend to use the Japanese restaurant, I advise you to book ahead. It's very busy and we actually missed out.

Always a beautiful place to stay. Location is perfect with great views. Facilities are amazing, everything you need inside the hotel. The bar has a really nice atmosphere and the cocktails are so yummy. Ritzy but also family friendly. The staff go above and beyond and always meet my expectations. Quite affordable and comfortable rooms. Valet parking on-site is pretty much the same price as 24hr parking in the city and much more secure for your vehicle. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful place to stay! Very friendly staff and they're happy to help 24/7. Lovely buffet breakfast included in our stay along with validated parking! What more could you want? Gym 24/7 and staff happy to help with issues. Definitely recommend Intercontinental Adelaide!

Checked in with family for a night to enjoy the famous IHG hospitality! The best star rated hotel in Adelaide offering wide range of eating options. The room was spacious with a nice view of the city. Also enjoyed a dip in the open pool. They have live music in Friday evenings which added to our overall experience! Highly recommended!

They have a good location, close to Rundle Mall where you can do some shopping and when you get tired you can go back to the hotel in 5 minutes walk, can walk to the Market too and Churches as well , Rooms are out dated and needs a renovations, Hotel is accessible to public transport. Riverside staff services are really good. Lobby toilets are clean and smells fresh.

I don’t like liars. It all started at checkin when we discovered they had not given us what was promised / reserved on the phone. Samson at Reception was most unhelpful and did not resolve our concerns. He also told us that breakfast was included as were in a club room, but we discovered this was also not true when we arrived at breakfast on the first day. Never staying here again. PS - The carpet in room hasn’t been replaced since it was built and I think the fridge is older than I am. The only positive comment I have is that the shower pressure was amazing. Perhaps I could enjoy it if the whole hotel wasn’t so tired.

Service in person was faultless...just the phones for room service didn't work. Was much better to go down to the dining rooms though. Food was delicious. Loved our 1 night gift stay...would definitely do it again.

We stayed here for 4 nights when the cricket was on. The room we had was dated but clean and well kept. Elevators were problematic, just not a very good system but this is in the process of being upgraded. The carpets on the floor was very unsightly and off-putting. Staff were top notch and made up for the dated decor.

High tea was excellent. Food was delicious and plentiful, service was brilliant and exceptionally friendly. Jonathan was our server and ensured we had a great experience from start to finish, he was so friendly and attentive. Great experience had by all of us, one of the best high teas in Adelaide

We had a lovely stay at the Intercontinental Adelaide recently. The Atrium, it’s a great spot to sit back, relax and enjoy a drink. We love the Intercontinental, the staff continually offer service at an exceptional standard, all the services in the hotel, it’s location to the city! We can’t wait to return!

Service is great, especially the club access, worth upgrading and no need to queue up for breakfast at lobby restaurant. All fixtures are due for major renovation. Next to the train station and convention centre, easy to access

Great service and lovely breakfast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Manager on duty Ajit and Concierge William went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely visit again.

  • 3/5 Tania M. 1 year ago on Google
Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Curtains falling down, stains on bathroom floor and the glass shelving in the bathroom had so much dust, it probably hadn't been wiped down in weeks. Very old and tired room. Housekeeping definitely needs to step up. No fresh washed cups/mugs daily, no replenishing of tea/coffee/choc daily. Bed sheets are supposed to be changed every 2nd day, didn't happen until the 4th day. Having said that, the service of the staff was outstanding. Prompt and efficient. Great buffet breakfast with so much choice. Nothing was too much for the staff, just awesome. Given the cost of the per night rate, I would go elsewhere.

  • 5/5 Jacqui H. 1 year ago on Google
Big spacious room and comfy bed. Service was what you'd expect (polite and professional). Hot selections in the buffet brekky were pretty average with no variety over the week I was there.
