The reception is really letting this surgery down. I rarely ever need to visit my GP but when I do it is for an urgent reason. I had been waiting on the phone to book an appointment for just under an hour, only to be told by the receptionist that there were none available (as always and understandably) and to call back the next morning. Because I was so desperate to see or speak to someone, I’ve had to call 111 to get them to request a call back from the duty doctor (a second time), which came through quite quickly, so many thanks for that. But what really annoyed me was the fact that I was told by said duty doctor that there were in fact telephone appointments available same day but I was never offered one by the receptionist to begin with. It’s such a shame because I’ve only had very positive experiences with the doctors so far but my experiences with receptionists are putting me off of attempting to book again.

Rudest reception person I ever talked over the phone didn't even listen and hang up the phone, I wonder why they hired some mentally frustrated people their that they think they sitting home and do anything they want You are working. For us At least hire someone with little more civilized approach How can you shout like that and hang up phone on someone The person should be get rid of Look at the comments all about receptionist lady bad behaviour Figgs march surgery should really need to take a step for reputation and hire someone with little less mentally loopy persons Plzzzzz 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Staff were always helpful and I got appointments whenever I asked for. I always receive reminder texts to book any test or vaccine. Overall, I am happy with the patient care of this surgery for myself and my family.

Really rude staff at reception. I said I need an emergency appointment for my sister who has high fever and vomiting. And the lady was like “how long has this been for” i said form yesterday night and she said “do you think this is an emergency go to the pharmacy and buy medicine”. And to let you know I did call in the mourning and waited for 2 hours until they’d pick up and said we are full have no appointments left and cut the call without listening to me and so I showed up to the gp and the lady was being so rude and rasic

I had a truly dreadful experience at Figges Marsh surgery. The level of neglect and unprofessionalism I encountered there was completely unacceptable. Not only were my symptoms ignored, but I also felt like I was constantly interrupted and not given the opportunity to fully explain my concerns. I vividly remember one specific incident where I was explaining to the doctor that I had chest pain for more than one year, and I'm lifting my shirt to show her the blue and brown discolouration on my chest and she was rolling her eyes and saying "it's okay" As a patient, I expect to be taken seriously and to receive proper care and attention from my healthcare provider. The staff seemed uninterested in hearing what I had to say, and instead seemed more focused on getting me out of the door as quickly as possible. They were dismissive of my symptoms and failed to provide me with the proper care and attention that I needed. To make matters worse, I was constantly passed around between different doctors and nurses, which made it difficult to establish any kind of rapport or continuity of care. The appointments felt rushed, and I felt like I was not given enough time to fully explain my symptoms and concerns. Not only were my physical symptoms ignored, but I was also advised that my mental health was the problem and I should concentrate on that instead. It's such a shame that I've been paying my taxes all these years to be treated in such a neglectful manner. As a patient, I deserve to be heard and to receive proper care and attention from my healthcare provider, and that was not the case at this surgery. Overall, I would strongly advise against seeking care at Figges Marsh surgery. The level of neglect and unprofessionalism I experienced there was completely unacceptable, and I hope that this review helps other patients to avoid the same experience

My recent experience with Dr. Shamsuzzoha at Figges Marsh Surgery, regarding acquaintance's learning difficulty concern, was disheartening. When seeking advice on potential learning difficulties and dyslexia for this individual, Dr. Shamsuzzoha shockingly claimed that individuals over 18 cannot be diagnosed with these conditions. He incorrectly asserted that such issues should have been addressed during childhood, displaying a dismissive and inaccurate understanding of these conditions. Additionally, despite requests for a referral or relevant information, Dr. Shamsuzzoha refused to provide any support or guidance, which hindered access to appropriate healthcare assistance for this person. Especially when this person suffers from mental health problems and is on medication Dr. Shamsuzzoha's dismissive, ill-informed stance towards addressing concerns, particularly regarding learning difficulties, is deeply troubling. It's not an isolated incident; there have been instances where he's failed to assist patients in various areas. This neglect of patients' needs, coupled with his misinformation, warrants serious investigation. It's not just about learning difficulties; this attitude affects lives. The management's tolerance of such behaviour reflects poorly on the practice. I strongly advise avoiding this doctor if possible.

On hold for 1hr40 minutes to rebook an appointment which the surgery cancelled. Given the appointment was cancelled, I’d expect the surgery to be calling those patients to rebook but I guess that basic level of service is unrealistic maybe… I’ve never encountered a problem with the staff however the waiting time really lets the surgery down.

Horrible,I'm changing this place asap.. impossible to make an appointment to see doctor with serious problem Blood High Pressure (high with medicaments and feeling really bad) - needed to find proper help myself (why we pay for that so much money?!?!). High blood pressure is a risk and consultation is a must. No help at all. Not nice receptionists too.

The receptionist it's horrible, no manners or approach whatsoever. Called in the morning, waited 25 min for a call back and then she ask me my date of birth, just to answer give us a call tomorrow, sorry nah... I'm just had enough of this GP, just needed a visit with a doctor to book an specialist as I will need surgery soon. I feel so annoyed to pay this much NHS to get such a bad and late service all the time.... Totally Appalling

Brilliant. Recently joined and have been able to get an urgent appointment when needed, was called back within the hour. The econsult feature is also great for routine issues. Reception staff are polite and helpful and their new patient process is very proactive on their behalf Updated to add: reception staff are extremely helpful, I was offered an appointment for my baby when I didn’t even ask for one! Just as a contingency in case she became more poorly. Which I ended up needing to use. Doctors are brilliant too (have seen/spoken to 3) one of our results came back with something important, I was called twice and left voicemails and when I called back close to closing the doctor was kindly still able to get back to me and explained everything over the phone. I’m so happy I have joined as I used to be with them years ago and wasn’t happy with the service back then (~2012)

I have been to the surgery few times over the last few months and tried over the phone. Main reason for this review was the service provided by Monica. On every occastions She is respectful,so helpful, polite and importantly care about your problem and knows what she is doing. We are so pleased to see someone like Monica and thanks very much for all her service and support. 😃😃
