I live in the neighborhood and was craving some Japanese style curry. Loved everything about this place. Super friendly service from the owners and a comfortable and inviting atmosphere to eat in with lots of natural light. This is behind the Target in Rosslyn in the Arlington Tower office building. Pictured are chicken teriyaki and Japanese curry rice plates. Will definitely come back for breakfast and lunch soon. Thank you!

Update: The pandemic has really hit hard the businesses in the Rosslyn area. Several staple eateries around here have succumbed to the lack of visitors able to dine in and are no longer doing business. I'm happy to report that Open Kitchen is still quite "open" and serving great food, M-F. I recently had the cheeseburger and fries meal (comes with their signature hot sauce on the side) and it is truly wonderful to eat. Perfect portions - in fact I always have a bit of leftovers. I understand they now have a curry meal and will have to check that out on a later visit. Do give them a try as you try to decide what next to eat in Rosslyn. This cafe is really worth visiting. Nestled away on the ground floor of a pretty high-rise commercial building, Open Kitchen has a little bit of everything. Serving breakfast and lunch, I've had a number of their offerings. My breakfast platter with sausage, pancakes and scrambled eggs was very good, with the right portions for the price. Their burger is very tasty, and I've so far been able to have the meat cooked to my medium to medium-rare preference (that's a request that is sometimes hard to find). My first ever bibimbap was theirs - and with a runny egg on top, it's one of my all-time lunch favorites (by other reviews, that seems to be a hit, too). Today, I tried their fried chicken burger and it was so big, I had to picture it for a review. It was really good and very filling (it's the kind of sized burger that required some mashing down just to fit bites into my mouth). For me, the chicken had the right amount of crisp at the edges along with a really meaty center. I'd definitely get it again - but leftovers are real possibility with this sizable menu option, if you get some fries to tag along. Shout out to the owners for their siracha mayo concoction that seemingly goes with almost everything on the vast menu. Last but not least, wait times are minimal - the staff is friendly and efficient. Seats are plenty and they have a patio, too, which I imagine fills up in nicer weather.

I have visited Open Kitchen two times since it opened. It is located in the Arlington Tower in the space that used to be the Jefferson Cafe. The owner of Open Kitchen used to run the Skywalk Cafe a few blocks away. I wish they had the buffet like they did at Skywalk. So far, I have only tried the burger and fries, which are good.

Wow. The bulgogi rice bowl I ordered is HEAVY and full of fresh veggies + quality beef. It feels homemade and is delicious. I didn’t expect too much from this place given it’s in an office building. But I’m so impressed. The space is also very beautiful and airy. I will come back for sure

Got the Chicken Katsu Curry for lunch, one of the best Japanese currys in the DC area. Sauce was excellent, really rich. The chicken katsu was not overly breaded and perfectly fried. It was a really generous portion too. Well definitely be going here frequently for lunch

I've had the pleasure of working from Brookfield Properties for 1 year. I have to admit that the Angry Pasta, Chicken Noodle, and Ckn/Bean and rice soup are my absolute favs here. During the spring and summer I'd definitely recommend there salads! Talk about yummy! It's amazing !

Grabbed a bagel & coffee, both were delicious! Prepared quickly by friendly staff and the atmosphere was great. It’s the perfect spot for grab and go or sit down and enjoy!

I work in the building and I am so glad to have this restaurant right on the ground floor! I get my lunch there almost every day and have tried a lot of their selection. Everything has always been great, and the staff is always so nice and friendly!

Wonderful food with a lot of options. Everything I've had has been terrific, from a turkey sandwich to bibimbap. The staff is friendly and prepares the food fresh to order. I mostly get the food to take away, but the tables are comfortable and they even have outdoor seating available. It's conveniently located, but a little off the well-trodden path. It's a true gem worth a visit.

The chicken curry good but the chicken is not my favorite but other than that the salad was awesome and the rice and curry sauce is bettter without the chicken in my opinion. The dude who was preparing my food funny good sense of humor.
