When I saw wow, I mean WOW! This place has really really good food, I ordered one of the specials with scallops and it was perfect. The prices are fair and the garlic bread is the best I’ve ever had! (And not to toot my own horn, but I’ve eaten a lot of garlic bread.) I would recommend this place to anyone, I’ll probably be back for lunch tomorrow.

Low-key, friendly little spot with efficient service and excellent food. The garlic bread they bring to the table is absolutely delicious, the wine list is shockingly inexpensive for this area, and entree portions are large. I’ve also been by for lunch sandwiches a few times and they are both huge and delicious. My only regret is that we waited this long to visit for dinner. We will be back!

We were on vacation and staying at a family friend's home. Aldo's is located right across the street from them.... The food, yummy! The service, very attentive and fast! The staff, very friendly! If we're ever there on vacation again, we'll definitely go back! Thank you Aldo's Italian Kitchen for serving delicious food (fried calamari, scallops with linguine and spicy red sauce, chicken pesto pasta) and for the kindness you showed us!

Definitely recommend Aldos to anyone looking for a great dinner experience. My family and I were greeted at the door by the owner, Emanuele, and were treated like long time customers. The food is fresh and delicious. I will be sure to go out of my way to patronize their establishment and recommend others to do the same.

What a great find! I am originally from New York and basically grew up on Italian food. Since moving to DC I have realized good Italian food is hard to come by. I am so happy my husband found this place. It really felt like home to me! The food was wonderful, service was flawless, and it was overall a great experience! Don’t let the somewhat strange location turn you away…it is definitely worth a visit and we will be back!

This place was pretty cute, and I randomly met friends here for Restaurant Week for dinner. Place gets pretty busy on a Saturday night. I had the vegetable soup and grouper with fettuccine. I loved the fish because it was not too soft or hard and the soup was seasoned well. I also had the stuffed mushrooms, cheese bread, and calamari. The calamari could use some more seasoning, but otherwise, everything was great. The sweet wine was bomb, especially because I don't do tart wine.

This is a little hidden gym! For an authentic taste of Italy 🇮🇹 try Aldo's Italian Kitchen and always expect a warm Italian greeting by Aldo's owner Emanuele Cognetti who is ALWAYS working to prepare some mouthwatering delicacies. My personal favorite is the Fettuccine with Portebello - Sautéed mushrooms served with fettuccine pasta, artichokes, herbs, garlic oil. I have a hard time ordering anything else. 😋

We were in the area over the weekend and decided to try this place based on the reviews. It was a pleasant experience. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the chicken piccata with pasta and my partner ordered the lasagna. They brought ice water to the table as soon as we sat down and finished our meal off with a few complimentary bite sized pieces of brownie. Would definitely recommend this place if you are ever in the area.

The garlic bread is very good and the pistachio cake is also very good. If you go, I recommend both of these, but that's about it. I got the lasagna and the pasta was way overcooked and it was not very well seasoned. My friend got the chicken parm and he said the same. I also tried my wife's chicken picatta which had a nice sauce but the chicken was not well prepared and also under seasoned.. We got the first round of garlic bread and was really good and we were hungry, so we ate it quickly and politely asked if we could have some more. They brought out a double order.. we had no idea we were going to be charged for it. It's fine if they want to charge for it, we thought it was like many other places that simply offers bread. If we knew, we would have only ordered a single most likely. $12 for the bread was a bit of a surprise on the final bill.. The staff and atmosphere were nice. No complaints there, but parking is pretty tricky here. Overall I probably won't be back as the pros do not outweigh the cons for me...

I just moved into town, great hidden gem (at least to me). Took my sister there in her own words she hasn't had such a great tiramisu since Italy. All around food and service were on point good portions, great price and you can tell that everything is made with love. Will be back many times over.

THE BEST authentic Italian food we've ever ate. We visited last July and had to go back. The food is AMAZING, the portions are huge, and the service is like no other. A small place tucked away in Alexandria, VA but they have a huge welcoming presence that will make you feel like family. We just love everything about this place. We will continue to visit when we're in the area, 2 hours from home.

During our vacation in Alexandria, VA, we decided to check out Aldo's Italian Kitchen because it was close to the Marriot Hotel and we could walk there. The food was amazing, with perfect bread and delicious pizza. The pasta was cooked just right, and the sauces had fantastic flavors. The service was top-notch too, with the staff being quick, efficient, and super friendly. Don't let the looks or location fool you, this place is totally worth a visit. We're really happy we gave it a shot!

A real hidden gem. Probably one of the best Italian places in the area. I can't believe I only found out about this place after living down the road for the past two years. I've had the lobster ravioli special and the Marsala chicken so far. And both were amazing.

We had a delightful evening at this Italian restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality. We ordered the Parma and Quattro Stagioni pizza, and our son enjoyed the Alfredo pasta. The food was simply outstanding—each dish was prepared with freshness and attention to detail, resulting in a burst of delicious flavors. The customer service was a standout; the staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. We left with contented hearts and satisfied appetites. We'll definitely be returning to savor more of this culinary excellence!

Great place. Very nice owner and staff. Super great food both for lunch and dinner. Indoor and outdoor seating. Have been multiple times in the past month. Never knew it existed. Lunch specials are very nice. Great prices. Check it out.

ALDO is a fabulous family owned business. Emanuele , the owner, is so very friendly and welcoming. The food and service are great. Many of his dishes are homemade , including his marinara sauce. His eggplant parmigiana is the best I have ever eaten; it just melted in my mouth. The garlic bread is delicious, and his cakes ( from an Italian bakery) are amazing ; both the limoncello and the chocolate mousse cakes are our favorites. The pizza is good, even tasty cold the next morning. I highly recommend ALDO for its food, service , and family friendly atmosphere.

Recommended by staff at a near hotel and am I so very glad they did. This place is amazing. The owner greats you at the door like family. It's decorated with family photos and feels like you are in someone's home. The food knocked my socks off. Better than the places in old Town that are far more expensive. It was very reasonably priced and the chicken pesto pasta was the best pesto sauce I have ever had. Margarita pizza was fantastic also. Will definitely be back when I travel to the area.

Parking is tricky, but who cares...it's worth it...Excellent quality ingredients and portions are huge. We walked in and the owner in the kitchen, waved at us, as if, he'd known us all of his life. He also greeted us at the door as we were leaving, and ask if we enjoyed our meal. He just seems to be a great human being. Great food, atmosphere and portions. If You're in or around DC and you love Italian food...THIS. IS. THE. PLACE.
