😠 I've been here so many times I can't count. Food is always really good and the waiters are so nice and helpful. Because of that I recommended this restaurant to my boss. Result: none of the waiters gave them a menu to chose from and in the end he was charged 700€ for things he didn't actually asked... I've been here so many times I can't count. Food is always really good and the waiters are so nice and helpful. Because of that I recommended this restaurant to my boss. Result: none of the waiters gave them a menu to chose from and in the end he was charged 700€ for things he didn't actually asked but they kept bringing to the table. Unacceptable! Not recommending it anymore! That was an awful and disrespectful behaviour! Just because they are not Portuguese it doesn't mean you can take advantage of them! Please share to all your non Portuguese friends: from what I've read here it looks like they always do this.

DO NOT EAT HERE... I wish I read the reviews first. Absolute scam! They wouldn't give us a menu, so that we would go with "their suggestions"... Ended up with a platter of awful prawns, and barnacles, terrible quality, we barely touched it. And got charged nearly 350 euros!!! We live locally and there are far better restaurants with people who have morals and don't try to take advantage because we are foreign. Please read the rest of the low reviews, as you know this isn't a one off... Shameful.

One of Lisbon’s off the beaten tracks best “Marisqueiras”. Always the freshest seafood. Beer taps always in tune. Good service.

I've been coming to this place for around 30 years and it never disappointed me. The seafood is fresh and while it is not the cheapest it has great quality. The staff is always very welcoming and has very low rotation so you always see familiar faces. It's worth to check out even if it means a small detour.

This restaurant is on the outskirts of Lisbon. The place itself does not have a view, it is indoor. However, nothing really matters but the food. This place serves the most amazing fresh seafood that you can have. They really invest on food quality, and going there will definitely not disappoint! While we wait for food, the waiters go to your table and serve shrimp pasties and samosas, both of them quite delicious. The range of seafood available is quite extensive, from oysters or clams to Alaska King crab. The clams Bulhao Pato style are quite delicious. The oysters were of just the right size, not too big, not too small, simply served with slices of lemon. The crabs are really big, and very well prepared. The service is friendly but the environment is a bit crowded. Still worth the visit!

Robbery. We were 2 persons we asked for a small sapateira. They charge us 2,4 kg of Sapateira. Plus 90 euros. When I asked to check they weight of all other sapateira( that we’re bigger) none of them were more than 2,1 kg. Ridiculous.

Decided to check out the place I usually pass by on the way home. At most I must have spent 20 mins there. It was enough of time to make my clothes smell like I have been frying all day long I have been ripped of by paying 56 euros for 6 oysters, small beer and 5 shells I have been served drink that I never asked for Not sure if there’s anything to add Lovely place

Seafood couldn’t be fresher. Definitely don’t expected side dishes, seafood is it. Waiters are pleasant & did their best to accommodate language.

Best seafood place in Lisbon. Choose your lobster/crab/... and eat it. Waiters are fast, nice and efficient. And speak English.

My husband and I have been living in Alges for 2 months. We don’t know Portuguese yet, but very interested in Portuguese kitchen and traditions. It’s why we decided to go to this place (it was an obvious mistake). Sea food is good, waiters are very friendly and helpful, but the bill is unbelievable. We paid 150 euros for sea food plate and drinks. It’s the most expensive restaurant experience in our lives, really. The waiter said “trust me” and we trusted. It was a big mistake. But I never thought that the first thing when you go to a restaurant is not just relaxation and enjoying the meal, but paying attention and counting!

Best seafood i had in years. Fresh and large portions full of flavor. They did not have an english menu, but they had enough fresh fish on display to show each item on the menu what it was. I consider that great service!

The seafood restaurant for locals Great service starting with the fried local dish continues with amêijoa à bulhão pato One of the best sapateira availing Lisbon but to finish prego no prato with local taste Beer in cans to keep it fria/gelada If you love red wine try relento 18 , the Douro red from 2011 with taste a Amarone

This is a classical Portuguese seafood restaurant. In my opinion the seafood here is better prepared than at Ramiro's, but that is a personal appreciation. Since this is a restaurant that still caters mostly to the local crowd, foreigners should not come here without a Portuguese friend, because there is no option for a menu in English and the staff while courteous is not used to dealing with foreigners. It is always crowded especially during football (soccer for Americans) season, so a reservation is recommended.

I visited here for the first time today and wasn’t too happy with the experience. The biggest lacking thing was the service. The waiters were too busy and didn’t give us the proper attendance to customer. While not everyone was rude i didn’t like the service from start to check out. Food was okay, tiny portions and expensive prices. In the end while time to pay the waiters took so long that we had to get up and go pay on the counter where we were responded to badly and got irked because he didn’t register the 4 cents In the machine. Too much attitude food not worth the price not coming back.

Menu was all in Portuguese. It appeared like we were being helped to understand it but in the end we were just ripped off. We got charged €266 for a barely eaten seafood platter which we didn't even want and 3 beers. The owner tried to ply us with cheap cherry liquer and "free oysters". It was all just a ruse. We were so shocked by it all we just paid and left. We would never make a scene as much as we wanted to. I would not recommend this place at all to any tourists visiting Alges. It was quite funny that the owner was so "charming" and "attentive" all night and as soon as the bill came out he disappeared. We even saw him drinking red wine with his business partner like they were almost celebrating the fact that they hood winked the silly Irish tourists. It was such a horrible way to start our holiday.

Wide choice of seafood. No fish. Popular with the locals. Ok priced but menu not foreigner friendly. No English menus so hard to tell what is what. Staff don't seem to care to explain or attend to the table. They charge for the bread they put on the table. Everything felt very rushed. I had the garlic prawns which were nice and fresh but mediocre in flavour. People still smoke indoors which isn't nice as a non smoker.

👍 A great place to eat some sea food, they have a recommendation with different type of them and it's good with the right amount for 2 persons. The toasted bread was perfect. The service was also great and the right temperature inside. Recommended
