I
went
to
the
ER
and
was
seen
in
pre-triage
almost
immediately.
The
nurse,
I
think
his
name
was
Francisco,
offered
to
speak
to
me
in
English
since
my
Portuguese
isn't
fluent
enough
to
handle
medical
issues.
He
was
very
kind
and
very
helpful.
All
of
the
nurses
were!
However,
the
doctor
I
saw,
Dr.
Rita
Cerqueira,
was
extremely
rude.
She
refused
to
speak
to
me
in
English
(which
is
normally
fair,
but
she
handled
the
situation
poorly),
spoke
to
me
very
quickly
even
knowing
about
my
lack
of
language,
had
a
bad
attitude
with
me
and
my
mother
(who
at
74
acted
as
a
translator
since
the
young
doctor
refused
to
accommodate
me
as
her
patient),
and
was
overall
just
distasteful
and
disrespectful.
I
hope
I
don't
ever
need
to
go
there
again,
but
if
I
do,
I'd
rather
get
hit
by
a
bus
and
taken
to
a
public
hospital
than
have
to
deal
with
that
woman
and
her
total
disregard
for
foreigners.
If
you
can't
handle
people
with
respect,
maybe
don't
become
a
doctor
-
all
that
money
for
a
medical
degree
and
it
still
couldn't
buy
her
compassion.
What
a
disgrace.
3
stars
for
the
nurses,
-3
stars
for
Rita.
