It's
been
nearly
2
months
since
I
arrived
at
ARA
and
nearly
3
weeks
since
I
left.
I
still
struggle
to
find
the
right
words
to
describe
my
experience,
but
I'll
try
and
give
it
a
go
here;
I
felt
at
ease
from
the
moment
I
set
foot
in
the
shelter;
everybody
was
very
welcoming
and
I
quickly
settled
down
into
my
new
contemporary
'home'.
There
are
a
lot
of
dogs
at
the
shelter
(around
a
hundred),
many
more
than
what
I
expected,
each
one
with
their
own
story,
some
of
which
we
are
familiar
with,
some
of
which
we
aren't.
What
they
all
have
in
common
is
that
they
have
been
given
another
chance
at
the
shelter.
There,
they
are
receiving
lots
of
care
by
a
team
of
deeply
engaged
and
dedicated
people;
the
attention
and
detail
they
put
into
every
single
dog,
from
special
diets
to
medicine
to
which
dogs
get
along
and
which
ones
don't,
is
nothing
short
of
heroic.
It
gives
me
hope
that
a
place
like
ARA
exists,
and
I'm
so
incredibly
grateful
that
I
was
given
the
chance
to
stay
there.
The
staff
was
kind,
patient
and
professional;
I
especially
want
to
thank
Tiago
and
Claudia
(Clo)
who
always
had
time
to
stop
and
chat.
My
4
weeks
there
flew
by;
I
can't
wait
to
come
back
for
another
round.
In
the
meantime
I
want
to
wish
you
all
the
very
best,
and
I
hope
to
see
you
again
soon.
