A big airport. Needs more facilities. Endless security checks. Clean, well maintained. Few restaurants and Cafe's. Few shops. Not enough seating in waiting areas. Clear signs everywhere. Information desks.

One of the lowest airports I have visited in my life is quality, arrangement, organization and lack of services, there is never internet, bad bathrooms are not clean and not suitable for use, there are no good restaurants or cafes. Your bags are searched at least three times every two meters, a policeman stops you to ask you, and most airlines still use the old airport, I don't know why !!!!

Endless security checks. Rude police. The plicewoman who did the body check after the scanner was the worst, she put her hand in my intimate parts many times, and forcibly. I’ve been theough many airports around the world, and this was the worst experience ever. Felt violated!!! It’s like they do it on purpose so that tourists and Algerians don’t come back. Ever. Very sad. Doesn’t represent the real Algeria or Algerians who are mostly very friendly and welcoming.

Probably they had wasted millions of dollars to build an ugly airport. Would you please, tell me which airport in The world Who doesn’t have a WI-FI in 2022? This airport is like a pig with lipstick 💄 everything needs maintenance and good management. Even human body needs maintenance and good management.

Man, the airport is alright, aight? Unfortunately, the disorganization of people (both the workers and the travelers alike) make this place, despite the great improvement of premises, look like a complete jungle. It is always disappointing to come back to Algeria and realize that people did not change their mentality and behavior towards public places, and how to act civilized. So for that, thank you for the consistency fellow Algerians :) continue on giving us nothing.

At the entrance there is the first baggage check, slow check in, second baggage check, customs, yet another check before accessing the plane. But you can go up with water. Cheap, decent bar and diner with a good choice of both light and savory dishes

An airport that definitively feels new. The services inside the airport could be better. One strange thing is that everything needs to be paid in Algerian dinars even if you are not allowed to take this currency out of the country. The security personnel is friendly.

DO NOT take a taxi at night (dark from 6.15 pm) from airport - we got robbed by a taxi driver who threatened in French saying I'm robbing you, with one hand on his pocket inside the pitch dark taxi in a pitch dark empty airport car park. It was very scary. We had a very narrow escape last week. if this ever happen to anyone, there is a security/ police checkpoint when cars exit airport parking, and most likely the taxi will slow down, run! On a separate note, if you wish to catch flight on time, make sure arrive airport 3+ hours before departure. Their passport checks take forever, and 8 rounds on a passenger. The worst was border control which was extremely slow, about 5-6 minutes per passenger, regardless of massive queues behind. Security checks were only 3 lines open for 1000+ passengers. When you enter the airport front door, the security check only open 1 line for passengers. Best of luck!

This Airport is one of the biggest airport in Africa. But with several disadvantages, such as flights which are not organized. We find people who come 5 hours before the time to be sure. I think the airport need more organisation and maintenance to have more credibility. I hope also to think more about the transit flights to have more tourist in the future.

Very disappointed! Had a Hawaii key ring stolen from a last minute checked carry-on bag (there's no way it fell or broke) it's 3bucks but it's sad to think employees are thieves Plus my main bag had the zipper pried open from the TSA lock that came with the bag, there were local big pink curtains so I suppose it was too obvious to steal. I will for sure stop in france and hop on a ferry if I ever have to bring important stuff with me ! Shame on you whoever did it On top of that, there are no chairs or benches ! And absolutely no wifi... paid or free there's just nothing! Also the food and beverages prices are outrageous (not per international standards) but just compared to the shops around the airport A Redbull costes 650 dinars whereas outside it is almost 3 times less A simple 5 inch salami sandwich is 750da it shouldn't be over 150 One other odd thing after passing security there's a last checkpoint before the jetbridge where they'll check for whatever they don't want you to carry with you The only thing that I really liked was the elevators (glass ones) and a BA ( swissport ) lady working the counter then the gate, she was amazing only reason I gave 2 stars Otherwise awful experience

Very annoying that there is no free WiFi on this airport. Especially when you come from outside Algeria. You can not use your cellphone. In case of emergency or to let someone know via WhatsApp. Because you also can not use the cellphone to call. WiFi should be free of charge on a airport. Fair Use Policy if the airport think that is necessary. The toilets. It is a disgrace. They are so filthy! Many toiletseats are broken. I had to go really bad to the toilet. But after inspection of several toilets, decided that I had to do it in the plane. You can imagine that this was a very difficult moment, to wait that long. About the customs control. What is that? They look at your passport and you for 5 minutes. Back and forth. Asking the same thing over and over again, with always the same answers from me. Are they deaf? I have never seen that elsewhere on airports.

Inneficiency at arrival! From a total of 6 carousels on the luggage pickup, five are idle since only one flight is pending luggages. It has been now more than 1.5hrs waiting and many travelers are still waiting for theirs bags… is it the first time? Certainly not. Floor is dirty, no presence of whatsoever agent of the airport. Smokers everywhere: travelers lighting up cigarettes as if there were no rules. Inefficiencies everywhere. A nice airport, with a poor management.

Not really impressed, drop off zone closed you have to carry your language through lift, long queues and slow passenger processing (since Covid is ok), if you lucky to travel business lounge is Good with showers and food ok however other bathrooms in common areas are without toilet paper. For arrival sometime you can expect delays to get luggage but overall is ok.

It is easy to navigate to and inside the airport. Make sure you give an allowance of 4 hours ahead of international flight. There is a security check upon entry into the checking in area, the long line for check-in, slow immigration clearance, and another security check after immigration. There are limited number of cafeteria and restaurants before the air side. There is a free internet service.

The old airport to the new terminal absolutely stunned me and i was so amazed at how modern it also looked. Algeria's finally upgrading its city and it touches my heart. The inside is also very modern and has enough space to accommodate thousands of people. The staff are always quick and very nice people too.

The new airport / terminal looks better than the old one. But Services are very poor. Hygiene is poor. Bathrooms stinky Lack of seating areas for passengers and visitors. Poorly organized. Luggage trollies half or them are not rolling properly. Broken and noisy. Passport controls takes eternity, one of the worst WW. Luggage reception waiting time, 2 to 3 hours after flight landing, this is absurd. Endless security checks, which delays the flights. Badly organized queues (typical third world). …. No improvement unfortunately

I mean I guess it must be newly built because there was no system with respect to duty free. It is the first that I have ever seen in an international airport that credit card is invalid. Only cash is accepted which is nonsense. May be in the future things can be much better.

Its a great airport, you can use euro, dollars and Dinar at the shops. There are lots of people around pointing you in the right direction, signage is clear and it is easy to get to your gate, there are also multiple places to charge your device's, you just have to look around a bit.

I can only talk to the domestic terminal but there are pigeons and cats inside. The roof is falling apart (see pic), and bird poop on seats. There is no board to tell you which gate you leave from. You just have to walk around and try to find it close to your boarding time. We didn't have a jetway so boarded a bus and drove out on the flight line. We stood in the bus for nearly a half hour waiting to go to finally being let off after arriving which was way too long for a 5min drive. There was no ATM in the terminal either. This was a disappointing visit for an international airport in a country's capital.

I find this airport very modern, very clean with very friendly staff, we can lie down while waiting for our plane with a view of the landing strips, the staff are courteous and attentive, the police on site are very efficient and friendly. For my part, I really appreciated this airport.

Very clean and renovated airport. Two prayer rooms for both genders in the public side of the airport. More seating areas should be added

Great place.. -It must be made clear that the western station means the international airport because the new arrivals cannot know this, which leads to delays in flights -But I don't like the lack of seating.. -The reception staff lacks some tact with people

I went to the restaurant inside the airport (from the picture). The guy who served me took advantage of me. I was purchasing some breakfast and, by the time I was paying (in euro), he was giving me the worst exchange. As a tourist I do not consider this is fair. There wasn't many options to eat in it.

First time coming to Algeria and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to navigate through this airport. We had to come back the next day due to the airline losing our luggage but it was resolved very quickly. All the employees we dealt with were professional and thorough.

Flight number AF1355. Departure time 5:30 am. Gate number 31 travelling from Houari Boumedine Airport to Paris CDG. Disabled passenger discrimination, passenger was made to wait on the back of the que and was deprived of wheelchair que priority. Duty manager provided incorrect information and personal details (karim Abdullah) which was inccorect according to other member of staff. Shift manager prioritised his colleagues. When questioned he reacted in a very harsh and aggressive manor. Disabled passenger was made to feel extremely embarrassed and depressed.
