An amazing cheese experience .. Visiting from Texas! We know Wisconsin has legendary cheese and was on a mission to find some .. we found it in Baumgartner's A friend recommended this place and we were not disappointed. The service was good but the food was great. I can't say enough about our food .. good cheese is so satisfying. It was a cold day in January 2023 we had the tomatoes basil bisque warm thick and tasty. Tuna melt topped with slice of tomatoes and cheddar, pastrami and Swiss on rye served with extra cheese and a pickle 😋 Its an awesome atmosphere serving awesome food . We highly recommend 👌

Nice and cozy tavern known for their wide selection of cheese. The place is known for rye bread sandwiches pack with gourmet cheese and deli of choice. Which pair perfectly with their award winning chilies! Also don’t miss out on the mustard honey that they have in a squeeze bottle on the table, a true game changer! The atmosphere indoors interior is cozy with wooden booths, while the outdoor patio is perfect for cold beer in the summer. Additionally you can also just walk up to the counter and buy the locally made cheeses as well. The staff was super friendly when I asked her to cut the limburger log, rewrap them and pack it separately for me!

Wow!! Go out of your way to get here. Great atmosphere, unbelievable food, and great scenery Nd history. This palce has German written all over it. The pastrami sandwich was to die for and be careful with the horseradish mustard! It'll getcha! I bought two jars

I had this saved on my bucket list to try because the Limburger sandwich, I want sure if I ever would make it until I traveled for work and realized I was only 2 hours away. I had to go, I did and it was fantastic! I was early in the day so way before the lunch rush but that sandwich was something I wish we had in North Carolina! I will for sure be back when I’m in the area or even driving distance. Next time I will try some other things.

A kitschy Wisconsin institution! Truthfully this is a glorified bar but it’s certainly a unique institution. The beer selection is good, featuring about 20 rotating taps, featuring Wisconsin breweries. They also had a decent selection of non-alcoholic beers (although that may have been supplemented for dry January). The menu is simple, featuring “room-temperature sandwiches” (their words!) with Wisconsin cheeses and meats. They also have several daily soups. The real selling-point is the ambiance. The walls are covered in interesting artwork, the chairs are handmade and the environment is cozy. If you want a great Wisconsin experience, this is a top destination and won’t disappoint!

Fantastic and memorable place to have a meal. Everything about this place is awesome. Burgers were amazing and curry chicken sandwich the same. Great staff, food, beer and Landjaegers!

Always have to get the limburger, braunschweiger, and onion sandwich. It sure is stinky, but man is it good!
