We were excited to try this place out because there was always a long line. The wait to get a table wasn't as long as we expected but it took a long time to get all of our food. We ordered the breakfast plate (bacon), prawns and millet, and the biscuit twists. We got the breakfast plate first, and after my husband finished it, we got the biscuit twists. We waited quite a while after we finished the biscuit twists to get the last dish. Food here is pricey and the portions are rather small. The biscuit twists was my favorite and if you ordered the breakfast plate, you'll probably need to order this to feel full. The breakfast plate did not seem like it was worth the price and you only get one small slice of bacon. The prawns were tasty but the millet was just ok. Overall, none of the dishes really wowed us. We were also surprised that there was a restore the planet fee added to the bill because there was no disclosure about it.

I finally had a chance to visit Yang's Kitchen in Alhambra after seeing so many positive Yelp reviews. This restaurant, spearheaded by the talented team of Chris Yang and Maggie Ho, along with the seasoned chef Joseph Marcos, promises a contemporary take on comfort food. With Chef Marcos's impressive culinary background, which includes stints at renowned establishments like Pizzeria Mozza, Campanile, Ciudad, and Sona, I had high expectations, and I'm happy to say that Yang's Kitchen did not disappoint. Upon entering the restaurant, it's evident that the team has put a lot of thought into the ambiance. The former Mosaic Lizard Theatre has been transformed into a modern, inviting space that strikes the perfect balance between casual and stylish. It's a setting that sets the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. My visit was for brunch, prompted by the rave reviews I had seen on Yelp. We started with the sesame cold noodle, Yang's unique take on the popular Taiwanese dish. The noodles were perfectly cooked and paired with shredded carrots and cucumbers, creating a refreshing and delightful dish. The flavors were spot on, capturing the essence of Taiwanese comfort food. It was a promising start to our meal. For our main courses, we opted for the breakfast set featuring scrambled eggs and hanger steak. The scrambled eggs were a revelation—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. It was evident that Yang's Kitchen takes pride in using high-quality ingredients, and it showed in every bite. The hanger steak was cooked to perfection, boasting tenderness and a rich, savory taste that left a lasting impression. Throughout our meal, the service was both friendly and efficient. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and they were more than willing to accommodate our requests. It added to the overall positive experience. While it's true that the prices at Yang's Kitchen lean toward the higher side, it's clear that this is a restaurant that values the freshness and quality of its ingredients. The commitment to providing a memorable dining experience is evident in every aspect of the meal. In conclusion, Yang's Kitchen in Alhambra is a hidden gem that deserves the praise it has garnered on Yelp and beyond. The team's dedication to delivering exceptional comfort food shines through in every dish. Whether you're craving Taiwanese classics or innovative twists on familiar favorites, this restaurant has something to offer. I can't wait to return and explore more of Yang's culinary creations.

We visited Alhambra recently and a friend took us there for dinner. We had zero expectations but the place was so good that we went back for brunch the next day. They have a good selection of wines and even a secret wine option. The food was excellent both for dinner and brunch. The crew in the morning shift was snappy. I don't like that when you're paying a fair amount of money tip included. Totally recommend if you live close to Alhambra or even if you're not. It's worth the drive

One of my favorite dinner destination in the SGV. The grilled fish collar and Hainan Fish w rice was fabulous paired with a glass of white wine.

Solidly 3.5 stars. Yang’s Kitchen was on my list for quite a while, and I finally got the chance to check it out. Before visiting, be sure to put yourself on the Yelp waitlist since the line can get extremely long. We were quoted a wait time of 1 hr but luckily only waited for 40 min. We ordered: - Smoked Fish Dip: Really great bread from Bubs and Grandma - Multigrain Porridge: I don’t recommend this at all. There’s a lot of added texture from the toppings (crispy rice, herbs, pickled cabbage), but the porridge itself had the unfortunate gloppy texture of cornstarch slurry. There was no distinction in the grains. - Barramundi set meal: The sauce on the fish had good flavor. Nothing else on the set really wowed me. - Lemon Meringue Tart: My favorite item. Meringue and lemon curd were perfect, while the tart crust was too thick for our liking. - Strawberry Kombucha & Strawberry Amazake Smoothie: Was expecting a larger size for the price I paid. Too sweet for my liking, I prefer a kombucha that is more fermented; it tasted like strawberry soda. Overall, nothing truly wowed me, but the simple nature of these dishes means Yang’s is a solid choice for a clean meal.

Healthy and delicious Taiwanese food. From the store front to the food it all felt very well designed. The only downside is it’s a bit on the pricier side for the type of food they are serving but no doubt it’s very delicious.

I don’t think you’ve lived until you’ve tried the cornmeal mochi pancake here. No joke. Yes, it is $15, but it’s life changing. After you’ve taken a bite, you’ll wish all pancakes had this light, fluffy texture and perfect crispy edges. It’s pairs perfectly with the fresh whipped cream, blueberries, and condensed milk. For our entree, we tried the set meal with the mushroom medley and the adobo pork. Everything was cooked very well and it tasted like elevated home cooked meals. The portions are on the smaller size compared with most restaurants in the US. However, the quality of the ingredients shine through and I love that they display all the local farms they source from. For drinks, the Oolong Fresca is amazing. I felt like I was being transported onto a tropical island with each sip. I definitely recommend this place if you’re ready to splurge for a healthy and tasty dining experience. Don’t forget to order the pancakes!!

Love this place!!! Fusion Chinese? I must have lived under a rock! They have a great twist on classic Chinese dishes and I love that they source everything locally.. definitely a place to splurge and the wait can be discouraging but come during the weekdays and it's a lot easier.

Went in almost before closing but the waiter and kitchen were nice enough to feed us. We ordered different protein options for the set meal. All tasted excellent! And the special grilled shrimp were amazing as well. Only wish the rice in the set meal would have come with some veggies or more pickled stuff because everyone could not help but finish the other parts of the meal first very quickly :)

Everything we had was solid!!!! We didn’t have to wait long because we went early around 10am. But if you go around 11am-12pm know that you’ll be in line waiting. Servers were really nice and helpful. Wings were nice and hot, the sandwich was tasty, had a nice sauce to it and the biscuit was tasty. The pancake was goood too. Love it all

This is the best brunch we had so far. Food was fresh and high quality. We loved the way they wrote how they sourced each of their ingredients used. This restaurant is very creative with their menu and drinks. If you think it is expensive then you don’t value the work and quality of each ingredient served in your plate. They offer some vegan/ vegetarian options but limited. The only 3 side downs of this place is the music was too loud, ac was too cold ( didn’t make sense for us if they said they are eco-friendly) and service was lacking. The place was not crowded at all.

Casual restaurant for brunch and dinner. We went for brunch as the menu looked more appealing, and it did not disappoint. Yang’s set - this is like a bento box with several different items on the plate. I got the braised Meiji tofu and it had a unique taste — soaked in some light, savory sauce. Cold sesame noodles - probably my favorite dish here. There was a good amount of veggies on top of the noodles. The peanuts paired with the sesame sauce that coated the noodles tasted hella good. Really enjoyed the brunch here. The service was super friendly and quick despite it being packed. Delicious, healthy food options.

Was thinking to eat breakfast here for a long time but i couldn’t pull the trigger on breakfast at an Asian restaurant. My whiteness restricted my view of just how good it could be. But I just kept hearing how amazing their brunch was so I finally tried it. And I will go back. Their cornmeal pancake is phenomenal. The salmon hash also excellent. Next time I’m getting the breakfast with steak!

Our new favorite restaurant. Brunch was fantastic: chicken liver mousse, smoked salmon hash & Mochi pancake - OMG. Beyond the fabulous food - the staff made excellent recommendations and were so warm and so happy that we loved their food. We ended up coming back for dinner the same day. An equally fantastic experience - pepper steak, Dan Dan pasta & grilled cabbage, and orange wine. Every dish a revelation.

The food was amazing. We ordered variations of the breakfast plate and every aspect of each was on point. Crispy hash brown brick and perfectly cooked eggs. Also, the mochi pancake really surprised me. It was thin and a little crispy on the edges, but still substantial. And it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. The staff was attentive and friendly.

Porridge was whatever but the salmon belly crispy rice was delicious. The sesame noodles were also great, loved the ratio of vegetables to noodles as wel as the chilli sauce that came with it. Had the custard as well, it was passion fruit flavored this time and thought it was pretty good as well. The service here was great too!

This place is so good we came here twice while visiting from Australia. Would definitely recommend booking (or waitlisting) as this place gets packed. Recommend: the breakfast plate, Yang's set meal, and mochi pancake. The chicken we got with the breakfast plate and set meal is topped with chimichurri which makes the dish. The first time we got the chicken it was perfectly cooked - tender and juicy. The second time it was cooked longer - so it had more char, and was less juicy overall. It would be a 5 star if they were consistent. The hashbrown is AMAZING, but too bad you can't order it on its own. The mochi pancake is the best pancake I have had. I would eat this over regular pancakes any day of the week. Not so sure: chilled tofu, coffee Cannot fault the service. Staff are polite and very accommodating. Would love if they opened one in Australia! Will definitely visit again as soon as we're back in the US.

I'm just a bit disappointed with how the food came out, not as we ordered. Both my daughter and hubby ordered medium rare steaks. Only one came out medium rare and the other one close to medium well. We liked the chicken fat rice paired nicely with the fish we ordered.

The food here is pretty good but the portion and the pricing is something to be wary of... For a party of 6 with ordering only 5 items, it averaged around $30 per person. For this pricing I really would think twice about coming here to done outside of trying it once. The portions online and in pictures look big, which is what caught my groups eye when we went to dine in, but in person, you'll be wondering if someone already gotten to your food already given how much food you're getting for what you paid. I don't think any of my party actually left full, just ok where you're not starving but you can probably get a burger to actually feel full. Lastly, they have a mandatory 20% gratuity for 6+ or more which is 2% more than what is normal and have a "save the planet" fee that is just tacked on. For the price tag here, you're honestly better going to any of the other restaurants nearby for either cheaper and filling food that still tastes great, or go to somewhere that has comparable pricing but the food is just another step up.

Yangs Kitchen is simple but great food crafted with artistry. A humble place who values great ingredients, good taste, service and experience. A nice place to celebrate Mothers Day.
