This restaurant had a lot of bad review on their customer service that's why we never went there. So, a couple of days ago my family decided to try it out for a benefit of doubts. Surprisingly, the service was fast and the staff was helpful and quite nice. She was very busy because she was working herself, so it's totally understandable if she looked like in a hurry. The restaurant was not so big but it's pretty nice though. It was not busy during our visit at weekday, but there were a lot of online orders coming to pick up food. Amazingly, their food tastes as great as our other favorite restaurant on Valley Blvd. Their pork belly tastes and smells great and their fried chicken is also tasty. Will come back soon.

Great food. Mom and Pop chinese restaurant. We ordered a salt and pepper Shrimp, Pork Chop Shanghai style and Fried Intestine. White rice is free They are all good. Place is small but can accomodate at least 70 people inside. Our server is very nice and attentive. We are not rushed. Compared to Sam Woo or Oak Tree Inn with prices, this place is cheap and it is an authentic shanghai cuisine. Definitely a very good place to go to save money specially with inflation now.

Great food with generous portion at reasonable price.

I ask the waitress how many years the restaurant has been in business. She said 42 years. That is amazing. I felt like an ignorant fool. I pass this place for way too many years and never bother to try this out. All 3 dishes we ordered were delicious. They are what Chinese food should taste like. I will have to make up for lost time. Will go back.

12/16/2022 I just visited Alhambra CA, near one of my favorite places for great Chinese food. The food is great tasting and the prices are very reasonable. The food is similar to traditional Chinese style food, I grew up eating. You get real food... much better than ahem Panda Express. I've been eating at Shang Hai Yau Fat (you fat) for years, because I'll get fat eating the great food. I previously eat near the downtown Los Angeles area to get original Chinese food. I haven't been disappointed. I also stay away from the busy Chinatown District.

Have been going here for 18+ years. It has always been good and staff has been nice. They always remember us . We always get the potstickers, Mongolian beef, and sizzling rice soup.I am not Chinese but I assume the food is pretty authentic. This place has a special place in our memories.

Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ❌ Ambience ⭐️ The restaurant lived up to its picturesque photos in appearance. The floors and menus were sticky, and a pile of disposable meal boxes, napkins, and chopsticks cluttered a dining table in the corner, creating a messy atmosphere. There was no welcoming greeting from the receptionist as we entered, and although half the tables were available, we had to wait for a waitress to clean up and set a table for us. Luckily, the enticing aroma of the food kept us from walking out immediately. We ordered sautéed sticky rice cake with salty pork, crispy chicken, fried cod with pepper, and house tofu. While the other three dishes were delicious (but a bit too oily), the house tofu tasted slightly spoiled.

I used to frequent this restaurant with my family as a young boy MANY years ago and this was my first time back in about 25 years. The food is still tasty as ever!! Delicious authentic Chinese food service family style with many choices on the menu. Would recommend to anyone!!

I have been coming here for years the best Chinese hands down, I recommend salt n pepper pork, orange chicken, pork fried rice, chicken chow main and the wonton soup is absolutely amazing!

My family really enjoyed our dinner here. Good, freshly cooked Chinese food with fast friendly service. The pepper pork chops were as good as reviewers have mentioned. But everything else we ordered was just as delicious. Large portions too. Will be back when in the area.

We have been going into this restaurant for a couple of years now. The people work here are super nice. The food is super delicious. Great food and great service!!! Couldn’t ask for more.

Food is delicious and affordable prices. They also prepared your food fast. Every time I've been there it's taken them about ten min. to serve our food. Staff is friendly and kind. My new Chinese restaurant stop.

Food was delicious and worth the cost. My friend treated me and am glad because I wouldn't have been able yo pay. But he had three take home containers.

My wife, who is Chinese said that she wouldn't strongly recommend this restaurant, although she did like three of the four dishes that we ordered. Having lived in China for 17 years, the restaurant reminded me of my mother-in-law's cooking, and the numerous small restaurants that we would frequent. Nothing fancy, generous portions, and if you lived in China, it will remind you of home.

Been here a few times, first time putting a review, the place has great food, excellent portion sizes and a wide selection of dishes to enjoy.

This place is a hidden gem. Great portion and good Chinese food with real Chinese flavor. Their lunch specials are great deal. This is just outside of the busy are so I think that's why they can maintain their quality and price. Also, this restaurant has been here for like... 35+ years of not more. It's definitely not easy to be in business for that long especially with the growing Chinese community in the area.

The food was good and tasty and the prices were extremely affordable. When you order a meat dish you'd expect more meat than veggies but this wasn't the case otherwise it was all around good.

First time coming here, ordered take out. I called in to order. They are open for dining! I ordered the beef & broccoli. About $14. It was good! Nice big portions! Can definitely share with a family. Will come back again to try other items.
