The wontons here are huge! Each wonton contain 3-4 shrimps in it, very succulent. The beef stew is also very tender as well. Food orders comes out quickly after order even on a busy lunch hour on Saturday. For take out orders the food is still hot and fresh tasting, they don't let food sit till cold or luke warm. They take phone orders as well, kitchen is very organized and fast like a well oiled machine. I ordered at the counter waited about 7-10 minutes to get my order. Take out orders were well packed with chopsticks, napkins, chili oil, red vinegar by default. Menu is in English and Chinese, while staff speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Congee has a small menu but it specializes in congee, noodles & wonton soups, and lo mein. I ordered shredded pork & preserved egg congee and shrimp wonton noodle soup. Both items were delicious. I was impressed that the wontons were big and have a good amount of shrimp inside. I am definitely coming back to try more items. 😊😋

First of all, Big WOWs. Wow wow wow. I can’t believe this food is takeout. Takeout food is the best quality to enjoy. I don’t know how even I will be able to describe when I have this soup dine in. The Best. Simply the Best. No explanation is needed. If anyone is near Alhambra, please stop by this amazing place. Stay Healthy, Be Safe, and Be Well everyone! Have A Blessed Day! Bosco :)

Super clean, focused restaurant with a small menu that they execute well. I appreciated the congee has sufficient ingredients in it compared to other restaurants serving congee. Great experience, huge portions, and service was excellent!!

It’s an amazing place for authentic Cantonese noodles and congee. The best part of my meal was this chili sauce! I bought a jar 🫙:)

With the name "the congee" you expect some really good tasty congee. This restaurant definitely pulls through on that and served a delicious bowl of flavorful congee. Got the duck egg and pork variation and wish I could have had another! The wonton mein with house fish balls was just as good and satisfying. The wonton were packed with shrimp and tasty; this soup dish could stand alone in its own restaurant! The salt and pepper wings were freshly fried and had a decent amount of seasoning. I wonder why we're given all flats and no drumettes though? Chinese thing? hmmm. Regardless, decent prices keep this place honest and people like me coming back consistently.

It suppose to be NO Star due to Service. I ordered to go and I want to get more chili oil from the table. But the Server looks unhappy about it so I didn't get any. She told me there are enough chili oil in the bag already. She wants me to buy their bottle of chili oil for $11. After I got home, there wasn't any package chili oil. Very disappointed that the server is not generous about the chili oil. I won't go back.

They're well known for the congee and wonton noodles. Ordered 2 wonton and beef stew lo meins. The wontons are huge and each serving came with two. The beef stew had lots of flavor and tender. Extra $2 for more noodles. The price is perhaps higher than other similar stores but I find the quality much better.

It was better before. The wonton soup was done right in the past. Now its a bit watery where the taste of the vegetable dominates instead of the shrimp before. The hard core liver congee had lesser and smaller pieces. Hope it was a single incident. Revisited 2022 Nov. Prices have gone up. $12-15 ea. Tasted about the same. In all the decade+ that it came to exist, never renovated so the facility is edgy on the wrong side. Formerly known as "Wonton Time"

I was craving for congee!!!! We ordered the ginger and beef congee which was alright. I still prefer ground beef congee, but they don't have it. We also ordered wonton noodles. The egg noodles was a little soggy, but the wontons and broth were good. The lo mein was a no no. Make your own egg noodles and mix it in oyster sauce. Overall, food was good but a little overpriced for the quality of food.

I’ve ordered : 1- two items lo mien (on the menu $13.25) 1-wonton noodle soup (menu price $12.90) 1-house special fish balls (menu price $10.25) 1-herbal tea (menu price $2.75) They charged me more than the amount on the menu. Before I posted this, I double checked the menu photos that other customers posted last month and I took screenshot on it. I don’t know why they charged me more of the pricelist menu?! If there is an increase on the price, they should let the customer know before ordering.

First time here. Ordered the wonton soup, wontons are huge with simple and flavorful broth, and enjoyed the special pan fried rolls with chili oil on the side. Service was quick and attentive, parking available in the back.

The best place to order take-out or delivery from when you are feeling down and sick! They have good heart-warming congee and a variety of options for you to order from. The plain with chicken is my go-to congee. They give a lot of meat. I also like their rice rolls. Chewy! They take cash and card. Indoor dining only. I came in the late afternoon in a weekend and I thought that the breakfast rush was over- until several parties showed up after us and the whole place was filled! They have tables for 2-4. Idk if you could fit bigger groups. It’s really small inside and a tight fit. Parking Parking lot is free and shared with the other stores in the plaza.
