Nice little shabu shabu restaurant in downtown Alhambra. They were still practicing social distancing, but was able to be seated within 5 minutes. Overall, about 15 tables and about 10 seats at the center bar. Was immediately greeted and placed on the short waitlist. Ordered several appetizers from the edamame, karaage, curry fries, squid leg karaage, and garlic wings. Took a little longer than expected to place my order, but once ordered, the appetizes arrived pretty quickly. All the appetizers were good, but my favorites were the squid leg karaage and curry fries. Gyoza, karaage, and garlic wings were good, but what you would expect from an authentic Japanese restaurant. For the shabu shabu, it is a 3 step process of choosing your protein, choosing your broth, and choosing your carbs. The proteins were a nice mix of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, duck, and seafood. They allowed you to do a combination of 2 different proteins. The broths were a variety of soy based, miso, and tomato types. The carbs were choices between types of rice and noodles. I opted for the beef & seafood protein, creamy pork bone broth, and udon noodles. All the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. I cooked the food, so won't criticize the cooking... Overall, nice authentic shabu shabu restaurant. Service and food were good with a nice variety of options.

Great spot for date night, families or a big group! I ordered sukiyaki broth with beef chuck, mixed tempura and spicy edamame. It all tasted very flavorful and I could tell very fresh ingredients. I plan to come back and try the spicy pork bone broth! The fresh ramen noodles were amazing with the sesame sauce!

We were die hard for Tokyo Shabu Shabu and had to find a new place post pandemic. We tried this place and love it. Their broths are delicious. Meat is always fresh and all you can eat veggies. I usually get their fresh ramen as my carb and it never disappoints. The only thing is don't get the A5 waygu, the beef belly is better

Still my favorite shabu place in the 626! It’s the best option for non ayce and definitely a must during the winter season. I only wish they opened for lunch too.

This is long over-due. I have frequent this place since they opened business but never remembered to post my review. Nabemono is one of the best hot pot place I have experience. The food and variety of the protein plates offer will provide you with plenty of choices, whether you want meat, seafood, or just vegetables. They provide unlimited veggies and soup refills. The prices are a little expensive, so treat yourself here once in a while would be so worth it.

A friend mentioned eating at this shabu shabu place recently and we decided to try it since the sauces are said to be really good. I ordered a large size of the beef belly with house konbu broth. It was very satisfying and filling. The appetizers are made really fresh. The shrimp balls, karaage, and gyoza are top notch. The fried foods are really hot since they're that fresh so be careful not to burn your tongue. The sesame and ponzu sauces really make the shabu shabu stuff taste even more better. I normally don't use sauces but these ones are on a different level of deliciousness. The place is very clean and the service is one of the best I've seen. The ordering system is very convenient where you can just order from your phone and start your own tab. This is definitely one restaurant I'd recommend for dinner.

Following a friend's recommendation, I went ahead and ordered a large portion of short ribs for both my girlfriend and me. While the meat was decent, it was really the sesame sauce and garlic that elevated the experience. I might opt for a less expensive cut on my next visit. However, while the food delivered on its promise, the service had a few hiccups. Upon entering, we were seated at the bar and kind of left to our own devices. Ordering through toast on my phone (which I personally dislike) was a bit impersonal for me. I'm more a fan of actual menus and some interaction with the staff. Luckily, our food and water arrived pretty quickly, but the staff's attention to our table was minimal until we'd finished our food. A staff member did eventually come around to check if we wanted more soup, which left me puzzled because why would we need more soup when we were out of meat and veggies? It wasn't until we were leaving that my friend mentioned we could actually get more veggies at no additional cost. I was surprised that no one mentioned this at the start or checked in during our meal, given how quickly we devoured those veggies.

Simple style shabu shabu. Can't go wrong with that. Decent selection of veggies and I chose the beef short rib slices. That was good. Nice rice portion. Regular amount was just right. Ponzu and sesame sauces included. Their sesame sauce was really creamy and good. I normally only prefer ponzu, but this place has nice sesame sauce. You order with their QR code. The waitress also can take your order if you like doing that instead. Food comes out fairly quick, then again I was there first when it opened for dinner service so there weren't many people at the time. Would come back again.

Awesome Japanese Shabu Shabu!! Their top notch service is even better than their top notch quality meat. Order and pay directly from your phone. A little pricy but it's totally worth it. Free veggie refills! I'll be back!

This place is SO DAMN GOOD. Easily one of the best shabu/hotpot spots around. Plenty of parking, and desserts to grab after munching. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

To be fair I knew coming here was going to be pricey but I was still curious how good is the ingredient. I got the Angus steak cut which was the cheapest among their choices of beef cuts that still rounded off about $29 for medium sized plate. TBH compared to other hotpot restaurants in the 626 area, we can do better. Quality didn't stand out as the cut I got had mostly fats. But why 1 star? The place was pretty filled when we were there, but the restaurant didn't even have their AC on. The server puts down the plate of ingredients and ask us to pass 'em down like he's too lazy to serve each person individually. So I'd say the only fancy thing here is the price and the restaurant name. Disppointing.

We were able to get a seat quickly when we went there after 8pm on a Saturday evening. It was quick to order on their app through QR code. Each meat dish comes with broth and a side of veggies and carb options (noodles or rice). We got 3 meat plates and 1 mixed seafood plates for 4 people and it was enough. Everything arrived pretty quickly. The quality of meats and seafood were great and fresh. We didn't mind paying a bit more for the quality. 😊😍😋
