Interesting museum where you can see a variety of equipment used by the police. Special displays and documentary regarding the north hollywood shootout, patty hearst and the SLA … etc.. only open tuesday and thursday ( buy tickets online)

A museum of a rare kind, showcasing the history of Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and its evolution though major events. There’s even a realistic prison room featuring famous criminals and celebrities who stayed. The best part is on the backyard, featuring bomb disposal robots, armored vehicles, bomb trucks , a helicopter and several cars (including some with bullet holes). Would recommend 2 hours to fully grasp all the displays.

Definitely worth a visit and show your support to the LAPD. A lot of history to see here, especially on the North Hollywood shootout. One of the Department's new at the time '96 Crown Victoria's with a touch over 4,000 miles is on display, with bullet holes all over it, along with the '87 Celebrity used by Phillip and Matasareanu.

Way too many exhibits to be explored under one hour. Good thing is they have free parking and clean restrooms on all floors. Was awed by the massive collection of handcuffs and also be in a cell without causing someone harm. This is a landmark and a hidden gem.

Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in the area. If not, it's easy to do with the LA metro that is just a 10 minute walk away. The people are nice and helpful. The museum is filled with lots of neat and very interesting stuff. It's small but worth to visit. Take your time and you will definitely spend some time in there.

This is a great experience. You have all types of vehicles to look at, old jail cells, memorabilia from Adam 12, ladies in law enforcement, badges over the centuries. But best of all are the displays and video interviews of officers from the SLA shoot out and the Hollywood bank robbers. So well done and informative.

What a wonderful historic museum, housed in a beautiful old building. With the audio tour, it was only $10 per person. Interesting to learn how forensic science evolved to be incorporated into the modern police procedure. Lots of heroic and tragic exhibits. I would say it's good for 9yo and above. The kids liked looking at the jail cells and the collection of handcuffs, as well as the collection of police vehicles in the back. Tour took about an hour or so, parking lot is available next to the museum.

Really cool mini history stop. My son loved it. This could be a quick stop for a tour through LA. There are 3 floors and an outside area to see the original cars in the bank robbery with bullet holes.

Small but informative police museum, very similar to The New York City police museum in N.Y. The front desk person was warm and welcoming. The jail cells and police car exhibits were very cool. Good time

This former LA police station turned museum is dedicated to the earliest history of the LAPD. It is located north of York Blvd at Highland Park neighborhood. Admission is $10 bucks/adults. The museum is a 2 story bldg; it's well maintained, neat and organized. They have a lot of police stuff, jail cells, and vehicles. We enjoyed our time visiting this museum. Volunteer staff are nice, competent and professional. Parking is relatively large. Overall, I recommmend this museum.

This place is cool! We saw it featured on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage and put it on our LA "to do" list. My son loved the vehicles out back, and I liked seeing all of the historical artifacts that they have from some notorious crimes that were committed in the city. The staff was very friendly. It is worth the trip!

This museum is among the few places that document the infamous criminal and police histories of LA. From movies to policy-altering events, the small outward appearance deceives the content held inside. The experience is one few places in Los Angeles offer and is well worth the entry fee. If you can make time for their hours, it is a hub for LAPD history and memorabilia.

the Museum is CLOSED from 12/21/23 to 1/2/24. A shame coz my kids would have loved to see LAPD stuff.

Pay no attention to their posted hours or their recording. They decided that they were going to be closed on a day that they said they were open. Drove out here for nothing.

Great self guided tour...it was a walk down memory lane for me as my father was an officer assigned to the Northeast Division and I visited with him in what is now the museum in the mid sixties...

This place may or may not be open, regardless of hours posted. I showed up and nobody answered the door, which suggests calling before you visit to ensure people are there. Sad.

Intetesting place...yet, with a more creative mind, I think the displays and information could be presented in a more creative and interactive way. It was a bit...dull, dry. However, I'm glad I was able to experience it.

Drove all the way here and there was a handwritten sign on the door that they are closed 1/17-1/20!!! Seriously? Nothing on the website about being closed. Pretty bad when guests come from out of town and we try to bring them! DO BETTER!

Took first dose of Pfizer vaccine for COVID19. Street park only as parking lot is used for vaccinations. Very well organized and every process moved swiftly. Thumbs up to all the workers! I called in a day earlier and got appointment setup. Much faster and easier than dozen different online booking sites.

Wish they had more cases. Felt like they could have added more like state to in the cells. And area to take pics like look like a mug shot. Talk about oj trial and night stalker ...ect. show weapons Confiscated. Just more. Everything was onions and Hollywood shoot out. Just could have slimmed that down to have more rooms dedicated to other cases.

Great exhibition, you can go inside cars and touch them. Amazing things and videos about north hollywood shooting. The people working there, not good. Waiting for 20 minutes to open the door because they werent listening the door. After, I had to found a worker to tell her that we were waiting to pay the tickets…. Very bad service

It was a $10 admission for each adult. I just wish we had a tour guide to explain the history of the stuff being shown. Gift shop was nice.

It's a great museum to see the history of LAPD. It has material from the past on to our present. From, jails, vehicles, handcuffs, uniforms and even a helicopter. Would come again and present it to for example my children.
