Love these trails. Well kept, beautiful scenery, smooth walking surface!! Super fun park, no shade but still excellent and close to the parking lot!! They added lots of picnic tables which is fabulous! (3/2023)

Such a good walking trail. You can stay on the circle around the pond or go deeper into the woods for a nature walk. Very pet friendly and good amount of seating for picnic or get-togethers. There is also a nearby playground for kids. Stroller friendly.

Super nice park. Spacious, nice pond for fishing, and the walking path is perfect. Love taking the dogs here. Plenty of parking and play space for kids.

Beautiful and well-maintained park with a great playground area and walking trail that connects to the Madison County Transit trail system. Of note, the park is fairly new (4-ish years at this writing) so expect very little shade as the trees are growing. I have two recommendations for the park managers. 1. More trash cans are needed along the walking trail. There are dog waste stations at two ends and these are equipped with bag dispensers which is an awesome way to get dog owners to pick up after their pets. However, as was my experience, you might be carrying that bag of waste the entire length of the trail looking for a trash can. I did. A lot of folks might find that a deterrent. 2. There are 8-10 nice benches thoughtfully spaced along the length of the trail, but oddly they are right up at the edge of the concrete path where in many cases there is a small shade tree just 10 feet off the path. Some benches in shade would be a terrific alternative or addition.

This is a great park for any family. It is on a nice plot of land and has a few lakes for eye candy. This park also hosts a few events each year and they are always a fun time. Anyone in the Glen ed area should consider this park when needing time outdoors or letting the kids run off some food.

We love coming to this park. Right off the bike trail and our daughter loves the playground. Nice and clean restrooms next to the playground and plenty of seating. Can't wait to see the full expansion once it gets started.

Nice flat open area park with small lake. Playground equipment available. Easy parking. Needs shade trees for the summer.

Small but nice. It has a very weird slide that reminds me of Johnson shut ins. Like the rocks you slide down and bump into. We normally go for a little bit after school. The kids that play there are nice and fun. Responsible and supervised.

This park shows a lot of promise. You can watch as future shade trees grow and you can tell a lot of thought has been put into the layout. The length and variety of the walking paths makes for a nice evening stroll.

Decided to go for a walk 🚶‍♂️, starting at Schon Park. Great trail, mostly shaded.

Nice park. We lived in Glen Carbon from 1985-1993 about a quarter mile from here. Hope to come back again some day when I have more time to spend there.

The parking lot has not been plowed. You could possibly be stranded in the snow. There were people there sledding. In better weather it has a nice walking trail and plenty of places to park. It has a small playground for younger children. Restrooms are also available during spring, summer and fall. Very nice overall.

Is fishing allowed at this park? Seen a guy there today with several fishing poles and he said fishing is now allowed.. Hope the Koi fish are left alone.

Such a beautiful place now in Glen Carbon! The walking trails are great! It’s neat to see the fish and turtles in the pond and the kids playground was awesome. The whole place, including the restrooms, was nice and clean. It was a perfect place to spend the day with the family!
