**AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONES**My Mom was taken by ambulance to Alhambra Hospital for a fainting spell. I’m well aware there are Covid standards at all the hospitals but 2 hours after she was seen and blood tests were run they discharged her. Upon discharge they allowed her to dress herself and allowed her to walk out stumbling. (We we’re not allowed in due to Covid ) They diagnosed her with Vertigo but allowed her to stumble out of the E.R. As she was stumbling there were three large security guards that just moved out of her way. No one offering help, her discharge nurse did nothing to help her outside. No wheelchair, no assistance. My father saw her ran across the parking lot to aid her. This is beyond irresponsible. This was a accident waiting to happen and only because the love my father has for my mother did this not turn into a personal injury. My mother was unable to walk steadily and she was just discharged and allowed to walk herself out. I understand there is a language barrier but what about common decency for your patients. I’m beyond disappointed in the lack of care she received at Alhambra Emergency Room. Is this the service all patients get or was it a isolated event. My advice to you Is avoid Alhambra Hospital at all costs if you care about your loved ones. It’s a subpar hospital that caters only to one race. There were others discharged in wheelchairs properly. But I guess if you go in for fainting and dizzy spells and your Hispanic your on your own.

I am very displeased at the way families for patients are treated. My mom was submitted to ER today and when I came to check in to be with her I’m assuming it was the charge nurse was very rude and did not let me go in to see her. She was not even courteous enough to address me or take the time to let me know any updates on my mom. She simply pointed and in a rude tone told the security guard I had to wait outside. It is definitely not my first choice to come to this hospital and this confirms why. It is very sad that there is no consideration for family members that are worried for their loved ones. I will be submitting this to your corporate office or who ever is in charge we don’t get treated like this at other hospitals I certainly hope and pray she is being treated better than I was today.

DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL. I firmly believe that this hospital is a big contributor to my grandma's death. She was admitted into the ER and later the ICU because she had a bad bout of pneumonia, and her body was starting to give out. They kicked family members out because she had to get tested for COVID, which she didn't have (we regularly do at-home tests, and she already had a prior diagnosis of pneumonia). They put her on a ventilator and did not let any family visit, citing "policy" and that they would call us with any updates. She ended up passing alone in the hospital. You cannot call yourself "front line heroes" and say that this is all in the interest of "public health and safety" while simultaneously depriving people (and more importantly, elderly people) of humanity and compassion. At this point, our loved ones are treated worse than animals if they can't be by family as they pass. Absolutely unbelievable.

Beware if you aren't asian, the staff is incredibly rude and seem discriminatory against latinos. They completely neglected my family member the entire time she was here. Recently called to have a singular question answered and was transferred in a circle to someone who insisted they couldn't answer a simple yes or no question. Nurses and staff are INCREDIBLY rude. You'd be better off anywhere else. DO NOT COME HERE. It's disgusting the lack of care all these people show and that this is to be expected of care for working class people.

I had a good impression of this hospital before, but last night a nurse in the inpatient department on the second floor made me experience the most uncomfortable moment in my life. My mother almost couldn't be rescued last night. My brother and I asked this nurse A lot of questions, she didn't know anything, and later she even hid when she saw us, running faster than anyone else, I also saw her laughing at me and another nurse in order to successfully hide, my mother just now Had a life and death experience where they had no empathy at all, I went home and couldn't even sleep, this nurse was horrible, it was terrible! And I also doubt the doctor's treatment plan in this hospital. Now I feel that everything is very bad! -------------------------------------------------- Through the social worker of the hospital this morning, the head nurse actively came to me to solve my anxiety and answered my questions with a very good and serious attitude. I mainly want the nurses last night to take everyone who trusts them seriously. Patients and their families, I hope such unpleasant things will not happen again!

This hospital has been the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. My wife came in six weeks pregnant with heavy bleeding that caused a siezure from being anemic. Upon arriving in the ambulance it took them four hours to do labs. When the labs came back they acknowledged her hemoglobin levels were low but discharged anyway. They misdiagnosed the pregnancy saying the baby had already passed when it had not. This is malpractice at its finest and they will be hearing more from me.

🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑DO NOT COME HERE!!! UNBELIEVABLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT COME HERE! This hospital is very inconsistent with policy. Security is uneducated. Staff lacks compassion and empathy. Do not go to ALHAMBRA HOSPITAL Here my experience. Drove my brother to this ER hospital around 10pm. We were rudely greated by Mr. Zing door security. I was only able to provide 2 COVID vaccine credentials according to “their policy” I needed to show proof of 3 covid vaccines. Therefore, Mr. Zing maliciously escorted me away, to wait by the parking lot, in a cold bench away from his empty outdoor heated waiting room. No compassion in where THIS HOSPITAL sitS waiting guest. Observing from the parking lot, I noticed Mr Zing wasn’t asking everyone for COVID vaccine. I addressed him asking why WASNT everyone is being asked for covid vaccine proof. He mumbled and brought me Nurse Arlene. Nurse Arlene didn’t come out with intentions of wanting to support, nor listen to my concern; Nurse Arlene came out with a “I don’t give a Freak” type of attitude and couldn’t answer why some where being asked for proof of Vaccine and some weren’t. To make my ER experience worse; there’s only 1 doctor for the entire ER HOSPITAL. Expect to wait more than 2hrs before being seen -or perhaps die. Luckily my brother didn’t die; I quickly checked him out and took him to a Better hospital. DO NOT COME HERE! This hospital is very inconsistent with policy. Security is uneducated. Staff lacks compassion and empathy. Do not go to ALHAMBRA HOSPITAL!

Just left the hospital. My mother has a history of ruptured intestines and they had treated her here before. The nurse that took her vitals was rude and inconsiderate or her pain. The security yelled at me to "Go to your bed!" (I was just there accompanying my mother). We waited over 2 and half hours with no check ins or any information on when we would be seen. I understand there are different cases, but this was a horrible experience.

I’m writing this review because my family received great care and service at this hospital. We were transferred from another hospital to get seen by a specialist and they got a room right away and were seen by several care team staff. They were continuously communicating with us and answered every question we had. Every single person has a great attitude and we’re very supportive throughout this process.

SCAM !!!! Charged me $433 for a minute of nothing. I had covid few months back, waited at the ER for 2 hours while having 100+ degree fever. The nurse came out measured my temp, heart rate, blood pressure then told me to go home take Advil or Tylenol there's nothing they can do. Didn't even prescribe me anything or let me inside the building, everyone waited in a small open area in the parking lot. Now I'm getting a bill from Shen Medical Group with $433 charge for nothing. The people who arrived on ambulance was waiting outside for a long time too, there were constantly 2+ elderly waiting more than 10 mins outside after arriving in an ambulance outside in the parking lot.

I must say they have the nicest staff of any hospital I've been too. Thank you everyone there for taking the most incredible care of me. They are very knowledgeable in procedures as well as mentally easing you before and after procedures. Went In to surgically remove a huge kidney stone.

My dad was told by Dr. Stephen Doane (fantastic doctor and very keen of my dad's anxiety) to go to the ER at this center after he was diagnosed with a prolapsed hemorrhoid. I took off a few stars because of one of the ER doctors' behavior when we were waiting to be transported from the ER to one of the floors in the building. Everyone else (clerical and clinical staff) was friendly, kind, and patient. However, the doctor's name that I will remember is Tarek R Nassif, whom I thought was friendly initially as he asked "How can I help you today?" As soon as I told him that we're waiting for surgery (a hemorrhoidectomy for my dad), his tone quickly became condescending and said "you do not wait in the ER to be admitted to the hospital. This is not how it works" among other remarks that I don't remember because I was already feeling unwelcomed. Even if he was right about "how things work", his tone could've been way different as he was anything but respectful. My dad doesn't speak English all that well and the front desk staff had already put us in the ER waiting area, so why all the fuss, doc? We don't know how the system works obviously, so what did you expect us to do in that situation? As soon as he had clarified with Dr. Doane on the phone about our situation, his attitude and tone changed when speaking to us again, but he did not apologize to us. All I can say is, do better doc, because I certainly do not want him to be treating my dad in the future.

I'm a cancer patient and this hospital has gone above and beyond. Thank you to my nurse Ms Shushanik aka Lilly for making sure I'm comfortable and all my needs are met. They don't argue with me about my pain meds(Dilaudid) like most hospitals have me in pain for hrs. The nurses are all awesome and friendly.thank you to every one working here. Never had a problem with them unlike other hospitals.

They didn’t even care about me what so ever. Didn’t even take blood samples or anything. Just sent me back home with pain and no referrals or care plan or literally ANYTHING. Horrible experience. Very subpar care. Avoid as all costs. Seriously the WORST. I’m still in pain next morning and it was just absolutely a waste to go to this hospital because this the next morning now and same pain just woke me up, so I’m laying in horrible pain still. Such a waste I wish I went to a different hospital.

95 yr old father in law was brought to ER saturday after passing out 2x and 911 called and passed out again on Guerney. Bp80s. The care was awful in ER. No concern or compassion. My father in law asked for help several times and staff walked by him. No water or food offered. Family went to get food at a take out. Nurse said no food was allowed in ER. After labs done they sent him home saying nothing was wrong. Worked in hospital for 40 yrs in icu and that should not have happened. No orthodontics done. Poor workup. What type of education do your doctors or nurses have. Not competent. Need retraining. Especially compassion

This rating is solely for their ER intake process. I was in sever pain from kidney stones. I live close to the hospital so I managed to drive there. As I got out of my car I was bent over with debilitating pain. At the entrance they have security. He asked me to fill out a form & sign in but my pain was too great for me concentrate on the task and told him I wasn't able to. There was already someone waiting to be seen (mind you, this is outside in the cold at 1am). Someone (I only got her first name, Yoko) from the ER came out and attended the person ahead of me who clearly was not in any major distress. All the while I'm sitting there moaning and crying bent over in pain. Yoko never bothered to ask me I was there to be seen, or if I needed any assistance. She took care of the guy ahead of me and went back into the ER and did not return. I waited at least another 15 minutes vomiting and crouched over on the ground in pain yet no one came to assist. I finally mustered up enough rage and determination to go pound on the ER door until someone would come out. And they were all like "you have to sign in or we can't help you". I said I was unable to because of the pain. And the RN, Ismael Duran, had the nerve to say "well you were able to bang on the door". Their attitude lacks any kind of concern, empathy or desire to help. I literally had to suggest they fill out the forms for me by asking me questions. (I will say the care I was given once inside was very good.) After the same RN, Ismael Duran, processed me for discharge I told him that I hope he never has kidney stones & gets treated at intake like he did to me. Then he decided to judge me (he called them "observations") by asking if I drove myself, if I carried my laptop bag (which contained also my wallet, otc pain reliever & keys). I took that as him implying that I wasn't in enough pain to not do the forms myself. I also spoke the the guy who did my forms about it and all he did was make excuses & rationalizations. Absolutely NO ONE apologized for the substandard health care service at intake. What if I was having a life threatening medical crisis? I would be DEAD from their lack of care.

From beginning with my intake nurse being fast efficient and compassionate as well as my emergency nurses and Dr. , the beginning of my 6 day stay was put at ease feeling that my was in good hands. Once I was admitted my nurses and cna's were sooooo attentive always checking on my well being. The protocols were always well explained which put my mind at ease again. When I was not really feeling the food the dietitian corresponded with me directly to workout a meal plan once again really happy with this whole visit. Thank you to the whole staff at AHMC keep up the great work. 🙏

If you’re Asian you get the royal treatment otherwise doctors make decisions about your medical treatment without informing you. This place is a house of horrors a full a bunch of uneducated lowlifes that can’t converse in English. The doctors are a bunch of sadist that’s only pleasure is watching you suffer while you constantly plead for help also pictures below are of my Cather and I was left to bleed and complain of pain for hours . I was left to sit in stool for hours.

Our family member's journey brought us to Alhambra Hospital. Very interesting turn of events after spending a month at the hospital where LMP died. That was a horrific hospital: fancy, expensive equipment but our family member would have died had she stayed there any longer. We experienced a Nurse Ratchet, the worst rounding Drs. and departmental Drs., a terrible hospital director/CEO and a bunch of professionals acting/fighting like high school children. Everyone in the area knows NOT to go there. Overall, I will say Alhambra Hospital saved our family member, who received the best treatment humanly possible here. You see and learn a lot when you are at a hospital for weeks. Thank you to the Drs.: Jah (the man), Mantilla, Liu, Bai, Lin, Evans, Cui, Tsai, Pak and a few others (depts.) who I forget names of (sorry). Respiratory Angels: Maria, Javier, Anthony, MICHAEL (who taught me how to LS - other hospitals have gaping jaws when they ask me where I learned how to LS; and I've had to use it to save life again recently), Kathy, pediatric RT and several others. Nurses/CNAs: the nurses are all wonderful here - so kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. If I listed all of them, it would fill a book. Special shout-out to our Unicorn nurse. Physical Therapists: all wonderful. ICU: all wonderful. I got an eyeful in there. ER: wonderful but please renovate in there. Social Worker: setting up everything post stay. Radiology and phlebotomists. Hospital director. No thank you to the Speech/Swallow therapist chooch. You should hire someone new or add more. Kind of a scary looking building but it's not about the equipment, it's the people that will get you through medical emergencies. I believe they specialize in respiratory ailments but I could be wrong. We are all so grateful to you! Our family member is reminded every day - and they did make it on several vacations now and is living large, while recovering.

It was not a very welcoming place. The landscaping outside was terrible, and the hallways were dark and gloomy. It looks like the place has potential for a face-lift. I met with staff that truly missed the mark on patient care. They were judgy and left me more stressed than when I entered. Great location and lots of parking, though.

My father was recently sent to Alhambra Medical Center for treatment and in an attempt to get him stabilized so that he can be transferred to a Convalescent facility for rehabilitation and hopefully to get his ejection fraction of his heart to improve. During his stay at the Alhambra Medical Center I have had the privilege to meet some outstanding and professional medical staff that have went above and beyond the call of duty to get my father right and in particular I would like to publicly thank RN Liberty for all the help she has rendered in my father’s care as well as his attending physician and all of the other staff involved in my dad’s care and recovery. From the bottom of my heart I thank all of you not only for the care provided to my dad but also for your daily selfless acts of professionalism and compassion that I have witnessed all of you rendering to numerous patients under your care.

Loud/shared rooms, that don't allow for privacy or rest, they flip on overhead lights in the middle of the night, no mri machine, nurse who don't do assessments on their patients, don't even listen to heart and lungs, don't know how to use sterile technique, poorly cleaned rooms/hallways, no patient portal or written info given, no turning of patients or oral care/baths when pt is dependent, doctor came in and told us the wrong reason he was there, didn't even know my mom's history. I do believe there are good people here trying but there is alot of room for improvement.

Came to the ER after waited 12 hours at Huntington Hospital with my son and not able to being seen. This ER was packed as well but the staff was attentive. We were seen within 20 minutes by Dr. Margaritis. My son was seen in his car seat outside in the waiting area. I can feel the hard work and effort they put in for this winter. Even though we never really went into the Emergency room, but we were seen quickly and reassured within 2 hours. This was definitely a surprising first visit to this ER.

They showed up as a part of the Test-to-Treat services on the government website and were completely unaware. They kept transferring me several times and each time I was met with an increasingly apathetic, sassy phone operator that didn’t know what they were talking about but had all the confidence in the world.

In the past, I had already visited this hospital to check on my sick friends. The staffs at the front desks were courteous and helpful. Then, I myself also got taken by 911 to this hospital for a medical emergency in March 2020. They took care of me very well. They treated me respectfully although I unintentionally puked on the floor. The finance department (when I called about my co-pay) was also very friendly and willingly helpful. Thank you!

Excellent emergency room and the regular hospital was great, too. Very thorough and the staff kept in contact with info about my uncle's condition. There are a number of people who either give 1 star or 5 stars. I suggest 5 stars is closer to the truth. No place is perfect, but this place is very good for a smaller hospital.

My grandmother was taken to this hospital since it was the nearest she kept asking to use the restroom and instead of assisting her Christopher her nurse tied her down. She is 94 years old she was not going to harm anyone that was elderly abuse. This hospital is the worst place. We are working on getting her to her hospital. Please do not come here if ambulance picks up a loved one ask for any other hospital if allowed. this hospital has no sympathetic nurses all staff is cold. At night you can hear the patient yelling for help no one comes and helps we have stayed all night with my grandma with fear of leaving there alone.currently reaching out for legal advice due too age discrimination elderly abuse and negligence

Sketchy place. Came here after getting food poisoning. Got great service from the two Asian ladies who were attentive and caring probably new. Then an Asian doctor came explaining to get a surgery in a strange way when I'm positive I did not need one. Then said I'm 18 and old enough to declare right there if yes or no when I had indication to call my family. I said No and currently living without a problem and no missing body part.

This medical center used to have reliable service, but not anymore. The nurses did not enter all the prescriptions into the system when one got admitted. and the CNAs are very rough when treating the patients. Some of the nurses were lousy and did not fulfill their duties during the night shift, not to mention their English capability. The rehab center is okay. The doctors did not care much about the patients. They showed up for a few seconds daily so they could bill you. Don’t go to this hospital if you are sick. If it is a 5-star (many years ago?), then Huntington Memorial Hospital will be 10-star.

I was in emergency room few weeks ago. The service was terrible. And the medical record came out 2 weeks later. Then when i asked the doctor to write prescription he said after check up it has been already 2 weeks so i have to go to emergency and wait again to have checked up. Thats unbelievable. If i had very serious illness probably i could have been died already until they release the medical records and write me a prescription. I had very bad experience with this hospital. I don't want to go there again.
