So
far
this
is
one
of
the
few
hotels
that
has
a
definitive
personality
in
Los
Angeles.
It’s
different
and
quaint
because
it’s
under
a
smaller
chain.
Always
like
to
see
how
they
make
these
older
buildings
modernize
tastefully.
They
have
these
large
tile
clay
floors
in
the
lobby
and
the
palette
is
dark
wood,
brown,
ivory
and
gold.
Games
are
in
their
lobby.
Old
photographs
of
Los
Angeles
adorn
the
walls
and
there
are
two
vintage
wood
telephone
booths
in
the
lobby
with
white
and
gold
rotary
dial
phones.
It
makes
you
think
about
times
past,
when
people
didn’t
have
cell
phones
and
there
was
more
etiquette
with
talking
in
public.
Were
people
were
more
considerate
then?
The
rooms
are
unique,
they
are
clean
and
have
an
art
deco
revival
style
with
blue
and
gold
tile
in
the
bathrooms
and
this
purple
carpet.
The
Spanish
tile
courtyard
has
intricate
blue
and
yellow
tile,
wicker
chairs
and
gold
and
white
umbrellas.
Humphrey
Bogart
or
Lana
Turner
could
have
hid
out
there
with
a
martini
or
cigar
in
hand.
The
heated
rooftop
pool
area
is
modern
and
a
nice
touch.
There
is
a
gym.
The
music
could
be
better
and
more
complimenting
the
mood
or
maybe
it’s
the
speakers?
The
staff
is
laid
back
and
nice.
They
have
bartenders
ready
to
serve
drinks
at
night
at
this
serious
carved
wood
bar.
Someone
had
fun
decorating
this
gracious
hotel
-
it’s
a
memorable
hotel,
a
step
back
in
time.
Similar
vibe
to
the
Roosevelt
Hotel
but
more
charming
and
relaxed
because
of
the
personal
touches.
I
hope
places
like
this
keep
going…
