we stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. no coffee maker in room. you had to pay for coffee in lobby every morning. every time we used the hair dryer the breaker would pop, had a microwave delivered to the room , it again popped the breaker. the wakeup call never worked. the desk tried to call me for over an hour saying the line was busy. i have a cell phone. the shower door leaked because the seal was missing. i asked for 1 nights return of our money out of 4 nights. manager never responded to my emails. parking garage is so far away from front desk. is easy to get lost at this hotel.

I came to California this Fall to have a hip replacement. My son wanted to find me the best place to stay where I could recover after surgery for several weeks. He found this hotel where I could book a long term stay. Karmen, the Sales Manager, went above and beyond the call of duty and made sure that my stay was perfect and that I had the perfect room to recover in. It was an ADA room near the pool so that when I went on small walks required by the doctor for recovery, I could just go out my door and go to the pool area and walk around. When I was feeling better I could also go to the Lobby and the Garden Area. The front desk and bartender always greeted me and asked how I was doing. Everyone was so helpful and I had a wonderful stay. I highly recommend if you have an event or need a place to recover like I did, this is the place. Kudos to Karmen for being such a great help and a friend as well!!!

So far this is one of the few hotels that has a definitive personality in Los Angeles. It’s different and quaint because it’s under a smaller chain. Always like to see how they make these older buildings modernize tastefully. They have these large tile clay floors in the lobby and the palette is dark wood, brown, ivory and gold. Games are in their lobby. Old photographs of Los Angeles adorn the walls and there are two vintage wood telephone booths in the lobby with white and gold rotary dial phones. It makes you think about times past, when people didn’t have cell phones and there was more etiquette with talking in public. Were people were more considerate then? The rooms are unique, they are clean and have an art deco revival style with blue and gold tile in the bathrooms and this purple carpet. The Spanish tile courtyard has intricate blue and yellow tile, wicker chairs and gold and white umbrellas. Humphrey Bogart or Lana Turner could have hid out there with a martini or cigar in hand. The heated rooftop pool area is modern and a nice touch. There is a gym. The music could be better and more complimenting the mood or maybe it’s the speakers? The staff is laid back and nice. They have bartenders ready to serve drinks at night at this serious carved wood bar. Someone had fun decorating this gracious hotel - it’s a memorable hotel, a step back in time. Similar vibe to the Roosevelt Hotel but more charming and relaxed because of the personal touches. I hope places like this keep going…

I love this renovated historic hotel that was built in the 1920’s. The lobby is beautiful, staff were helpful and service was excellent. We booked two suites to serve as base for wedding preparations. The rooms were spacious with nice modern furniture. The only issue was the lack of privacy in the bathrooms. There were no doors separating the bath, shower and toilet from the grooming space. Apparently, there should have been a fee to photograph the wedding party at the lobby but the fee was waived for us. That was nice and unexpected.

Lovely lobby. Lovely room. Good service (besides being locked out of he lobby by a fearful attendant.) Be aware that visitors have to pay for parking in the garage ($25 a night) or 2-hr free day parking 9 AM - 6 PM.

I tend to have really unrealistic expectations of what the hotel experience should be but this one blew me away. It’s beautifully designed and creatively styled. The team is so nice. And the amenities are honestly more than you need: pool, patio spaces and balconies, parking garage ($29 p/day) (very worth it!), a bar, a huge lobby with really great nooks for gathering. Do it!

Really nice hotel away from the hustle and bustle. Nice pool and great downstairs bar. Breakfast needs to add a bit value a bit overpriced. Otherwise loved my stay and would come back! Lots of great food and coffee options nearby and close to universal studios.

I bought a package deal with Hotel accommodation and car rental through United Airlines. I used the self parking structure and made my way into the Hotel, it was bit hard to find my way at first. I checked in and chose the parking fee of &29.00 a day. The hotel has an impressive history and the art assembly is beautifully arranged. My stay started on a bad note, there was a loud noise and an awful smell that made their way into the room I was occupying. I exited the Hotel and on my way out I discovered that the noise and smell was due to a big truck pumping out the Hotel sewage. I came back later in the evening and walk straight into the shower to clean up, I should’ve waited until the water warmed up but it once inside I was forced to take a cold shower. The next day after reporting the malfunction to the front desk I went out to visit my relatives. I tested the water temperature this time and the issue was resolved and happily took a warm shower. Later on at night a group of guests were coming back from a night out around midnight and disrupted my sleep, it was hard to get back to sleep afterwards. The next day during check out I returned the key cards thanked the two clerks and I was hardly acknowledge. It would’ve been nice to get a fond farewell.

Had a positively lovely stay here! Rooms are modern and quite comfortable. SUPER comfy pillows! It was quiet, so we got a good night's sleep. Staff are great - SUPER friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Rooms are modern and clean. Quiet area. No coffee or tea or hot water in room. Requested room service twice, once in person, and once via the service panel, and did not get room services at all for 5 night
