Sunday special for today $28 all you can eat catfish &chicken, potatoes, grits, eggs AND a waffle! AMAZING flavor! Everything made from scratch and cooked fresh. Just pure deliciousness! Counted 6 variety of different hot sauces. Excellent wait staff. Owner came over to our table to greet us with a smile. If you have a service animal and are just picking up an order, please notify the business for curbside service accommodation. Be considerate not to have your animal sniff around the patrons tables. That's not cute or sanitary. Were you really that scared to come into a soulfood restaurant alone? It's a restaurant FOR HUMAN ENJOYMENT, not your dogs. We don't bite dogs, but your dog might bite us,

I rarely ever write reviews, however this restuarant was so spectacular that I made an exception. This morning, on New Years day, I was looking for a good soul food place around the Pomona area that would knock my socks off and start off my New Years right. Not only were my socks knocked off, but so were my shoes. My family and I were immediately greeted with good hospitality and a comfortable environment. There are beautiful jazz paintings all around the restuarant. Our server was very nice and made sure to always accommodate us. We had the seafood gumbo, big ben’s bacon omellete with waffles and potatoes, slim da monsta, and joe joes combo with mac and cheese and black eyed peas. All The food took about 20 minutes to come and were all very fresh and hot and the portions were plentiful. First off, the seafood gumbo was immensely flavorful and tasted so fresh . The King crab and lobster added an amazing flavor bomb. 10/10 recommend. Next, big bens bacon omellete was a great classic, however the star of the show was really the side potatoes. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned, perfectly textured, and just exquisite. If you were to get one side for breakfast, I would recommend the potatoes. The waffles were also perfectly sweet, fluffy, and delicious and the syrup was hot and delectable. Slim da monsta wings were crispy and seasoned. Joe Joes combo was a dish that truly blew me away. It was the most tender and flavorful gravy oxtail over rice and exceeded my expectations. The black eyed peas on the side were good, but I’d say was a bit more on the salty side. The baked mac and cheese was amazing, classic, flavorful and had a nice texture. Overall I highly recommend coming to this place, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you chef!

As always good food, but lacking things on the menu. Understable since the rise in costs. They should reevaluate the menu and make it condensed. I ordered the rib, link and beef brisket to go for my husband and only got the ribs. The staff is amazing the food is home cooked. I recommend the tesha

Where should I start…? I’m gonna first say that I wish I would’ve know that Day day’s was around 15 years ago but man, I’m I glad I found it. I grew up eating homemade soul food as my younger sister is creole and that’s some major comfort food for me. I grew up in P-town as we call it and to know there’s a top quality, top notch soul food spot locally, is amazing! The atmosphere is super chill and was like walking into Day Day’s house and greeted with great family hospitality. The area is pretty sketchy so keep your head on a swivel but when you’re inside you’ll forget about it. The service was great. They were on top of making sure we were stocked up and refills kept coming, napkins were replenished and so forth. A+ service! Let’s get to the food now…I’ve had some amazing soul food and I’m gonna say that this tops pretty much most of what I’ve had. It’s right up there with my Big mom(creole grandmother). This tops any of the soul food spots I’ve had in the La area and beyond. You can taste the perfect balance of seasoning and flavor. Day Day puts love and passion in his food to say the least. The waffles 🧇 and fried chicken 🍗 🤦🏻‍♂️ Literally blew me away!! Don’t believe me, go taste for yourself! I’m not over exaggerating at all. I can go down the list of things we had and everything was incredible, not to mention the grape Kool-aid was nostalgic and brought me back to when I was a kid. I want this local mom and pop business to succeed because the food is impeccable. If you search soul food, make the effort to come to Pomona and try for yourself. I’m definitely gonna be back. Happy eating fam!

The food wasn’t as flavorful as I expected. The grits were less than mid and the red snapper was over cooked and it was tough to eat.

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the staff. This place is a true delight with Southern hospitality at its best! The food is excellent, the chicken wings were tender and all of the food was not salty. It was savory and the perfect flavor and temperature. If you’re a sweet tea lover, try the Southern style sweet tea! We will be back to visit when we are in the area again!

Got a breakfast late in the day I think like 2:30pm, I didn’t get pictures of Most the breakfast as it came after the omelette plate I ordered. I ordered a Bacon Omelette with Potatoes and Sour Dough on the side. French toast and waffles I have to say the bestHash in the business/ also they get the Best affle award, French Toast amazing Omelette Amazing. Sour dough was excellent. Soda was sweet and carbonated really good. So far I think this is the best breakfast place I been to. I didn’t even try there specialty items. Oh one more thing the smashed sausage patty is a must try. Amazing.

Expensive, very small amounts.... I ordered greens. You would think cornbread would come with them. NOT???? The sides were tasty. I ordered a barbeque rib dinner and an oxtail dinner. Ribs were dry and tough. My husband said the oxtails were touch. 2nd time trying their food. I wouldn't be returning........

Have only ordered from DoorDash & perhaps the dining in experience is different. However every time we’ve ordered it’s come either incorrect or missing items. For as good as the reviews are I was honestly disappointed about the errors as well as the overall food preparation. I’ll probably try them again because I want to support but they’ve got to do better as there are many other dining choices available!

The ribs were old, Mac and cheese was not completely cooked. Yams was from the can. I had to throw my whole plate away. Completely, I was disappointed with the food. Check your food before you leave.

My first time visiting this little hole in the wall. The service and food were excellent. In my opinion, the pancakes were much better here than IHop AND Black Bear Diner. Our server was pleasant, very attentive and professional. We will definitely return to try more of the menu items. The only thing I didn't like very much was the location where this is situated. Chino Hills & Chino would love a little place like this!!

As a picky eater, I was really impressed with how great the food tasted at this place, along with the pleasant customer service. I'd rate it higher if I could, and strongly recommend that you try it out for yourself. I'll definitely be returning and referring people I know. .

The fried chickens are just way too good that I had to make even more effort to try to stay healthy. I am never into fried chicken my entire life, but this is life-changing. Every time I come here, I ask myself why do KFC, Church chicken, Jollibee and Popeye still exist. And then I ask myself… why do people start calling Korean fried chicken just fried chicken? Folks, this is the real fried chicken here…. please.

Wanted to try the Po boy but they only make it during the week so I had to settle for Jumbalya and the Fried Catfish. The catfish was good and so was the red beans and rice. The greens would have been better but I didn't have any juice in them.

Dirty restaurant the owner had the nerve to get an attitude after I complained about my meal. The chicken was cooked in old grease the grits were cold and lumpy. The waffle was over cooked he didn’t take the meal off gave me a gift card instead. I asked for my money back not a gift card. They get an F from me.

I can't stop raving about Day Day's BBQ & Waffle House joint! The service here is outstanding; the servers are so knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. Speaking of the menu, the food is an absolute delight. The gumbo is rich and flavorful, the yams are sweet and savory, and the fried okra is perfectly crispy. The ambiance takes you on a journey to the deep south with its rustic charm and soulful music. It's a must-visit for anyone craving authentic soul food.
