To the community the doctors at this hospital are subcontractors that utilize the medical equipment and provide the staff, if doctor discharges after you complain about your systems and decide a to throw you under the wrong, go to another hospital or call 911outside the hospital right away do not go back to this hospital. If s doctor caused you harm or a family member death contact the state medical board of California, it means the doctor is dangerous to the community and can practice like nothing ever happen.

My sister in law gave birth here and I went to go visit her. I found the staff very kind and cheerful. My sister in law was very well taken care of from the staff. The hospital looked clean and well maintained. Parking was very accessible. There was plenty of signage to know where you are going and if you got lost there was staff always directing you to the right place.

Very awful experience, staff is very rude not helpful and did I say Rude ! Very dirty unsanitary. Don’t go here if you need urgent care wait time is awful 8 hrs to be seen. If you have sick kids really look at other options there this better hospitals because here they don’t really look into the symptoms you explain they over look they are very negligent. This is the food the hospital served my daughter. BTW, My daughter can't have milk. They put milk on the tray everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner. They called this meal chipped Italian meatballs. I'm Italian and I never heard of such a thing. My daughter is a little girl not a convicted felon. This food is not a one off, all the food they are serving their patients look terrible and taste worse. Well when they get their food. Yes, they are so screwed up they forget the patients food. You be the judge?

Worst service ever. The emergency room needs help. Telling somebody to nurse their child in the bathroom or telling me to wait until I get called and there was only two people ahead of me. After numerous people being called and I was yet to be called they pretty much told me my 10 month old wasnt a priority as he is sitting in the lobby hacking up a lung.

A really good hospital! My daughter was transferred here from ER in Downey and the nurses even the lunch lady and clean up lady were all so courteous and kind! My daughter had a good time while she was getting treated here, they have a good selection of family movies and they bring in plastic toys so she won't be bored. Also having a family room with snacks and other stuff is really nice! they even gave her some free toys to take home. Everything was handled with ease and very professional! The nurses went above and beyond to attend to us and we left feeling really great about the care they gave her. I wouldn't hesitate to come back! They know how to treat and talk to children.

My son was born here via C-section in November 2018 after 32 hours of labor. Absolute worst nightmare from start to finish. Five terrifying and excruciating attempts to insert the epidural. Then the anesthesia during surgery COMPLETELY WORE OFF and they had to tie my arms to the table because I was grabbing at my abdomen, panicking and screaming bloody murder. Those are my first memories with my son, thinking I was going to die and never meet him, and the sound of both of us crying and screaming. Then in recovery, my husband and I didn't sleep more than 30 min. to an hour at a time for FOUR DAYS STRAIGHT because people NEVER STOPPED coming into our room for every ridiculous reason, like CHANGING A LIGHTBULB in the bathroom 2:00AM or refilling our water pitcher at 7:00AM after asking them over and over again to leave us alone. It was absolutely maddening being almost completely deprived of sleep AFTER A TRAUMATIC SURGERY – I've never be so exhausted in my life, I felt like I was going crazy. My son had jaundice, and instead of just treating it with the light therapy, they pricked and squeezed blood out of his heels a total of 14 TIMES over the course of several days to "check his levels." WHY???? They were high, why not just give us the damn lights???? Then to top it all off, after many, many painful attempts to breastfeed and finally giving in to formula feeding (which they were adamantly opposed to), and feeling completely defeated, a nurse came in and grabbed the formula bottles off the shelf and said, "I need to hide these, we're a breastfeeding hospital. This looks bad on the nurses." I was livid. After all that, they wouldn't give us even a dime off our bill. We're paying them $3,750.00 out of pocket after our insurance paid $34,575.00. I wouldn't wish this experience on any mother. If you can somehow give birth someplace else, FOR GOD'S SAKE, DO IT. This hospital is a torture chamber full of inept and callous a-holes.

Whatever your name was and I will figure out , I am gonna report you to everything possible. She’s an rn on the 2nd floor that worked night shift covered room 218 on march 21st 2023. Youre terrible for denying my son formula after knowing he’s gone already 6 hours without eating because it was his 2nd day and is very difficult for him to feed he can’t latch on yet and the milk isn’t fully developed. We asked her countless of times easily 4-6 times that he needed formula and she insisted so much that we never got it, in other words denying us formula. We understood the risk and still even tho we said it’s ok we still want it, she refused to give it to him. Which led to my son getting dehydrated and now I went home without my son because he needed to stay. That’s a terrible feeling that is our first child and it broke us to have to leave him over a mistake a RN made ! I will still give this 5 stars because every single other person was amazing. Tammy the midwife was amazing and helped so much. But it’s just that nurse that made a terrible choice that led to my son being put in an incubator. I complained to a manager already. I truly hope they speak to her and have her acknowledge what she did was wrong in so many ways. If you’re planning on having your baby at this hospital i recommend it, but if you’re baby needs formula and they insist it’s probably that same nurse because I talked to the other nurses and they all agreed she was wrong!! I pray to god I can pick my son up tomorrow and I can get over this tragedy!! If the hospital wants to contact me about this situation I’d be more than happy. I know what time she was there and what room she took care of I just can’t remember her name, it happened around 3-4 AM she was working the night shift.

I absolutely love Miller Children's! I've had multiple amazing experiences here at this hospital! All of the staff, nurses, and doctors are all so friendly and caring and understanding. I recently had to spend 4 days in the hospital here and every day was another great experience! The nurses and doctors did such a good job at helping us to understand everything going on and talking us through the process and diagnosis and procedures. Thank you Miller Children's ❤️

ER is unorganized, wait time is forever and nurses are rude !! I wish I would have read reviews before comming here because they are all saying the same thing! They will over bill you, Nurses are unorganized and insensitive. I informed nurse Corbin that I have a medical condition, needed to eat, could he give me food or let me talk to a nutritionist , he told me “ next time come prepared or leave go eat and come back “ how can you tell someone this when they came to a place that is suppose to CARE FOR YOUR CONDITION! Wait WILL BE APPROX 8 hrs. I usually go to Harbor-UCLA in Carson and have NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR ER ! Unfortunately I was in Long Beach and cut my hand open on glass and this how I ended up at Long Beach hospital. I came in for stitches, left 8hrs later with a headache, possibly the flu and a bill as my insurance covered over half and the hospital over billed me. I WAS CONSIDERING THIS HOSPITAL FOR MY CHILDREN BUT AFTER THIS ER EXPERIENCE I AILL KEEP THEM, myself . And all my recommendations else where . If you could avoid this hospital you can save yourself a bad experience

Terrible Hospital always a problem!!! Only person worth going there to see is Dr. Steinmetz if it wasn't for him I would have been done with this hospital! Nurse told me transportation will be available shortly waited 6 1/2 hrs for them to say your transportation was not approved! Gave me 2 tokens which didn't even cover the train fare! I live 2 hrs away Asked them 10 times about transportation oh yes it's approved well that was BS...left me to get home with a 4 year old who had a mild surgery had to carry her out plus her car seat wheelchair and diaper bag!

I cherish this place like no other, my kids were born here and as a child this place saved me a couple of times. Now as an adult they saved my sons life. The nurses where on top of things and monitored him through his stay nonstop. They never complained even when my family would five them a hard time they always had a smile and cared not just for my baby but they made sure i was comfortable the whole time. If you ever have a kid hospitalized here (I hope you dont) you will realize that these angels spend 12 caring for you and your baby, they spend more time with your family than their own, they spend more time taking care of your baby than their own. I am forever grateful no matter how I put it, theres just isnt enough ways to describe how thankful I am with the staff here.

Please go anywhere else but here. It's insanely crowded and you will not get any form of help in a timely manner. I have a sick 3 month old baby with a dangerously high temperature, our wait would have been over 8 hours just to get medical attention if we had stayed. The security guard on duty was just rudely on his phone with his mask off, headphones in, listening to music and bopping his head. Several parents left in the hours I was waiting and the main lobby was even worse. There was a poor man with visible difficulty breathing just sitting there unattended for over 2 hours continually being promised he was next. Never ever coming here again

I cannot say enough positive words about this hospital and our stay. 8 days here..the nursing staff is one of the best ive seen. Dr.s and surgeons were not only super kind but helped to heal my child. The child life program here for children helped so much w our worries and fears and actually made it fun. The cleaning staff kept the rooms emmaculate at all times. Extra special to us was nurse Esmee.

I urge you to never go here. Go literally anywhere else. The nurses have seriously injured my sister twice purely due to gross negligence. I cannot stress how unpleasant this hospital is - it’s a prison where the patient might not make it out.

We were transferred to the children hospital because the prior ER we were at did not specialize in my toddler's age group/pediatrics. I am soo happy they referred us here. Hopefully my kids don't need any emergency services again but I would highly reccomend this facility. We stayed overnight and the nurses and doctors are AMAZING! We had Shannon and Haley as our nurses in the pediatric Corp building. They are wonderful, caring and super attentive to the child's need to make them feel comfortable and treated to go home safely and healthy. The facility is clean and the nurses are available on call at all times. I am very pleased and I am happy that my child got the care he needed.

This is one of the worst-run facilities I've been to. It's next to impossible to speak directly to a doctor - you need to leave a message, and maybe you'll get a return call. Maybe not. It depends. Billing is even worse. We received a random, unexplained charge for which we (apparently) unreasonably asked to have explained. Not only could they not explain for what we were being charged, they couldn't - wait for it - be bothered to call us back (even though they were "going to look into it" and get back to us). No one - NO ONE - picks up the phone here, and when you go to the hospital, you cannot speak with anyone without an appointment. Which you can't get, because no one will call you back. Oh, and when we tried to fax a letter (since nothing else was working), they re-sent to fax to a random doctor's office (seriously - someone actually took the time to send our fax to someone else), who called us asking why we were faxing them. Sadly, that office was not surprised that no one at Miller's bothered to read the fax, as it has apparently happened before. Go elsewhere.

I have to say received the absolute worse care from a doctor who refused to do her job today. She even made comments that my condition is chronic, and needs immediate attention. Looked at my wounds and saw they were draining blood and did nothing about it. No tests were ran. All she said was continue taking pain meds.

Parents: If your baby ever has a rash, never bring him here! I took my 4 month old baby for a rash and first and for most they didn’t even know if it was a rash or not but they decided to give him random medicine anyway, where none of the doctors even knew what was going on. Second, my child didn’t get treated further more but only got involved with social workers and state investigators when we didn’t do anything!!!! These people think as if we are abusing these children and bringing them for treatment after. PATHETIC.

The cystic fibrosis clinic at Millers hospital is a horrible place to take your child with cystic fibrosis. Doctors got a strong agenda about your child going through unnecessary procedures and if you as a parent decide differently, you will be blackmailed, threatened and finally discharged. There is no compassion whatsoever in this CF clinic. Doctors are unwise and so frequently dissagree with eachother regarding treatments for your child. Particulary Dr, Stephanie Abrams and Jill Edwards the coordinator are a horrible team. Both taking unethical approach by misdiagnosing my son with a second disease he never had. to the coordinator calling to our new CF center to cancell our appointment we had schefuled for my son! Yes, you heard it right. Parents of a child with a chronic illness like this, should never have to go through such a pitiful and unethical situation in a place like this, where he was supposed to be take cared Of ? The grievance commitee was also unable to help. Washing their hands when my son would not have anyone to prescribe life saving medications for him. They didnt care nor had compassion for him while COVID would greatly threaten his life if he was taken into an hospital just to be able to have prescriptions refilled. May God have mercy on these people.

I’ve always had a very deep respect for these doctors at long beach memorial. I have been in search to find out why I have consistent dizziness with the numbness in my face hands and arms along with my heart racing. I didn’t get an answer I actually was treated very Rudely And then discharged. My ER nurse was very rude. She was cold and had no compassion for what I was going through. I’m actually quite shocked at my treatment I received today

They give up on you so easy they told me there’s nothing we can do for u here any more and that it’s all in my head that if I didn’t accept a sitter or accept a therapist or a crazy person doctor that they won’t help me they don’t know how to put an iv they poked me more than 30 times on all my arms while I was here the nurses are mean and rude and ignore you the doctors only come for 3 minuets and go especially dr. Maggie they criticized how you treat your own child and how you live they won’t help you if they give up on you a good doctor won’t stop looking until they find what’s truly wrong with you but here in this hospital they give up the nurses take forever and leave you in pain until they feel like coming especially the nurse Ross she is Chinese and she gets in your business it’s truly sad how they can leave a child in pain to die and feel weak I hope one day everything changes there horrible hospital ever and they have you in a room like a presión I was in the pumalry floor it’s truly a bad hospital they hurt me and my child physically.

Dr. Lubans is the best children's Neurologist and his welcoming staff! I strongly recommend this hospital over Children's hospital anyday. Parking is always available inside and well worth paying. Everyone is professional and a welcoming atmosphere beginning with the Parking enforcement. Overall kept clean because they acknowledge that children are to be seen and treated there. Thank you so much!

Do not come to this place. Horrible doctors nurses practitioners s They operate from their ego. They refused to give me any exams for the pain my breast because I mentions a possible cyst that was told me years ago. They didn’t want to exam me because it was a pre-existing condition. The nurse practitioner said an ultra sound would not detect or display an image of a cyst, only a mammogram can do that. All they want is your money.

  • 1/5 Gary J. 1 year ago on Google
You can’t book an appointment there with an actual doctor. Only an obgyn nurse! That is ok if that’s all you need, but if you need a practitioner who can order exams you are out of luck. My wife has ovarian tumors and can’t get any ultrasound ordered from this facility. It is horrible and I would not recommend going here if you have any real issues.

Took my 19 month old daughter to ER to have them check out her leg for a possible fracture. It's been 6+ hours still and haven't been seen yet. When I told a nurse how long we've been waiting she replied "there's patients that have been here for 12 hours". Seems incredibly inhumane and wrong.

  • 1/5 Ruthanne S. 7 months ago on Google
This review is specifically for the ER only. The processes aren't logical. They had my daughter triaged and wait in the waiting area for 4 hours and then moved us to the actual Pediatric waiting area for another 2 hours. During this time, only one parent could be with our child. So we had to switch off intermittently while the other waited in the parking lot. My husband was told he could see our daughter, but was still held back in the first waiting room because there was a shortage of nurses to open the door to the other waiting area. 6 hours later, we still did not see a doctor. I don't understand how they can expect young sick children to wait for longer than an hour. Their processes seem odd, and they seem to have some serious staffing issues. Even the nurses agreed it doesn't make sense to do what they were doing...I don't get it. We left after 6 hours because it seemed like we were never going to get seen. Our daughter's fever luckily reduced a little, but she seemed more exhausted than anything from the long day of waiting in the uncomfortable waiting area filled with other sick children. Never again. Thank you.

The most inhuman people can be found here. They made the delivery and postpartum experience the worse they could. Unsupportive nurses especially Lupe should not be there for new moms, they all will make sure you not comforted and not heard at any point. They are racist too so please beware. Terrifying hospital group

Beyond exceptional care. Our daughter was a part of the "cooling program" in the NICU after a series of unfortunate events during labor and delivery. Every person whose hand guided or aided in our journey to get baby Willow home demonstrated extreme care, concern, and knowledge. I feel grateful every day that Dr. Croslin, the NICU doctors, all of the fellows, residents, nurses, PA's, and other specialists looked over our daughter... she is perfectly healthy and I do believe they have much to do with her positive outcome. Thank you for the bottom of our hearts! We love Miller Children's Hospital and the labor delivery teams!

So the Childrens Village 5stars the staff is always kind and helpful always fast visits and they’re super clean The Emergency department 0 stars. Brought my son in for high unbreakable fevers since they are the closest children's hospital to us I’ve been waiting for over 6hrs to be seen. The waiting area has a high volume of homeless looking for a spot to sleep. It’s not the cleanest and the bathrooms are horrific. I’ve never seen a hospital bathroom so dirty before. The lobby area isn’t that clean either so that should say something. I think county is cleaner and faster than this place

I felt very discriminated here by one of the nurses here for being Mexican/American. The doctor was very professional and very sweet but the whole staff does not have any humanity. Needs to improve on their staff because it seems like they are just there for the money and not for what they went to school for. Im very dissapointed never going here again. People please do not bring your child here for anything they are very racist! Becareful the nurses will discriminate you if you are a latino.

The doctors are nice the nurses are rude and unsympathetic. Literally waited 5 hour for an xray the doctor ordered. Not once did the nurse check on me then got mad when I went to get water and use restroom. Nurse said she assumed I didn't want medical treatment after 5 hours waiting of course I want treatment. Never again worst than Harbor didn't think it was possible

This is by far the best hospital I’ve been to. The whole staff was so nice. They treated us so great. We where on the general children hospital area and our 2 nurses were beyond incredible. We know that they’re job is hard and exhausted but they were so happy to help and that is something special they’re names are Karl and Wayne. The 2 doctors we got were as well great. They were checking on my daughter at least every 30 min. I’ve had really bad experiences on every hospital we go but this one made us feel comfortable with every decision we had to take. I’m definitely coming back with something for them to thank them.

My experience is very very good!!! I’ll recommend this hospital with my eyes close and with out a though, because doctor, nurses everyone there is so beautiful and kind, they really put themselves in the patient situation, very loving, beautiful hearts here in this place! This place is a proof that we have a wonderful creator watching over us. ☺️

I was being taken care of very well. Thank you very much to nurse Katy who goes to my room almost every hour the whole night for my fetal monitoring. I needed to remove the monitoring devices from my body to go to the restroom and every time I did that she also proceeded to my room to check on me. I appreciate all the efforts of the nurses who took care of me on the following shifts. They are all obedient and engaged in taking supervision of me.

I had a such a wonderful labor and delivery at Memorial Care. I delivered 11/024 and Nurse Yan Moreno made me feel so comfortable. I forgot the other l&d nurses names but they were amazing as well! He introduced me and my husband to the Lavonne Circuit and it helped my labor immensely. I am incredibly grateful to have had him as my nurse. Any expecting mothers who come to this hospital would be lucky to have him as a part of their labor and delivery team. He even took the time to take pictures of my husband and our new baby. We will cherish those pictures for the rest of our lives. 💕 I hope the hospital recognizes how big of an impact their nurses have on their patients.

We had a very positive experience at the maternity department in this hospital. Nurses ware friendly and always willing to help and available at moment notice. I would especially like to thank labor nurse miss Claire that help deliver my baby as well as take videos and photos for us. I wish the team the very best and they have my eternal thanks.

E.R. only for this review! Came under my son's pediatrician advice, only to wait over 8 hours for absolutely nothing! Waited for 3 hours in one place, only to be moved to another to wait longer! Well the new area has forgotten who we are, cause we're still waiting. The sad part is people are coming in after us, and being seen and gone as we wait! Receptionists on her phone, so asking questions gets you dirty looks!! Truly can't believe this is a children's hospital, even the VA has more compassion!! THE VA MIND YOU! Hope we never have to deal with this hospital again, my wife seems to think there's a lot of racism going on there, but guess we'll never know! Get your employees off the phone, IT'S ABOUT THE PATIENT NOT FACEBOOK OR INSTAGRAM! Steer clear if you love your child, cause they don't care here!

😠 Dr. Chappell is one of the worst doctors in this establishment. Handed me a tray with needles and asked me to give it to another patient, when I was clearly not a nurse. I looked at him confused because I wasn’t taking the tray from him and he rudely told me to go give it to another patient. I didn’...

😠 Worst rapid testing experience of my life. Waited 6 hours before I was seen. Don't even give you the option to come back since "you are only have five minutes until you are called and then they Move on."
