It is a stunning place. Nice walk from Hole in the Wall. A local took us to the Hole in the Wall and also showed us the boiling point. Suggest to take water with. We were glad the local took us, otherwise we would not have seen the Boilingpoint. If you cannot walk there is a lookout point from where you can take pictures. I know there is a path down but do not know the condition.

Absolutely spectacular! Make sure to pack in a picnic, light a beach fire and enjoy the ocean and views. The hike from Coffee Shack to the Hole in the Wall is highly recommended. Lucky was a fantastic tour guide!

This was one of the most spectacular places I have visited. From the emerald Green rolling hills, to swimming in the warm blue ocean and soft beach sand under your feet. This place is definitely worth the visit! If you climb the hill (or drive), the view from the top is breathtaking! Time seems to stand still as you take a few moments to sit down on the grassy hill overlooking the valley, and soak in the view of " The Hole in Wall".

We parked in the Hotel grounds. Walked for about 20 minutes to the Hole in the wall. I have knee problems so it goes slower. It is a moderate walk through a forest. To go to the boiling pot afterwards is a tougher climb. Well I made it and it was worth doing the walk slowly! Afterwards we had a drink and order pizza takeaway at the hotel

(Translated by Google) Nice but not sensational natural phenomenon. It is not worth the long drive over very bad roads. In addition, there are young people walking around who are irritating / aggressive as guides (Original) Aardig maar niet sensationeel natuurverschijnsel. Het is de lange rit over erg slechte weg niet waard. Bovendien lopen er jongeren rond die zich irritant/agressief opdringen als gids

A view like no other, the option of the swim across is available but sitting across the Hole in the wall suffices just as much while enjoying the mix of ocean and river water. A short walk from the main beach, the view is worth the walk

One of the most amazing views you'll ever experience!!! Good luck getting here without a 4x4!!! We drove a car... 2 hours 30min on 29km. So worth it though.

If you can't be in awe of Mother Nature, there's something wrong with you. ... You cant visit coffee bay and not visit HOLE-IN-THE-WALL. Expect to drive on a gravel road for about 10km. Any car can be used, the road is not that bad. The views are to die for. The drive diwn here was worth it. Oh beware of animals on the road and also potholes .

Great in and out day visit experience, view is always great especially for an inland fellow like me. Not particularly impressed with the hole in the wall itself.

The view is mesmerizing!! Trek a little to go near the Hole in the wall and you can experience the wonderful creation of God.

Try to go during low tide - its more spectacular then. Picture taken while on high tide. An impressive number nr of hustlers trying to charge you for “parking” and aggressive “tour guides”

Wow! What an amazing experience.... hiked to whole in the wall... through the villages with amazing views! Took us 4 hrs but we made it!

The happiest place on earth. A truly Cinematic landscape and beautiful views of the hole and surrounding mountains and ocean and oceanic cliffs. Almost certain this is where happiness is made.

Don’t be fooled! The accommodation at Hole-in-the-Wall resort is nothing short of disgraceful. No water for 3 of our 5 days. Reception cannot assist, rather go straight to the manager. Roofs were leaking (I have never seen so many people complaining at the same time before). We had a 6 sleeper which was short on glasses, etc. Our toilet did not flush, even when we had water. The lid for the cistern was missing. Couch cushions had no covers, they had a sheet over. Tiles falling off walls. Bathroom door looked like it had excrement all over it. Light fittings missing and the wiring for the plugs and fridge would not pass an inspection. Grounds not maintained or kept tidy, litter and bottles lying around. The area was beautiful but I would avoid this “resort”

A more further down filling station with a convenience store would be really nice....n if you're not well prepared for ur road trip please don't pass by Mqanduli or Vidges Ville for refreshements... Otherwise kindly include Wildcoast on ur bucket list, the views are breathtaking. I enjoyed exploring Coffee Bay with my family 👪 ❤️ Please be in the lookout for animal crossing n loads of potholes 😢 😢

Oh wow... What a wonder... God at work.. Will definitely go back for a plunge... Amazing. ???

  • 4/5 Olive Van N. 4 years ago on Google
Very pretty. One has to use some initiative to get there. No designated parking area, we parked slightly off the gravel road and followed an unmarked footpath down the hill to the beach area from where you can see the hole in the wall. On a hot day I suppose it is also a nice area to take a swim - but only in the river/lagoon area since the riptides and waves crashing on the rocks can be very dangerous. There are more unmarked footpaths around the area. Nice place to take the kids if you are in the area.

Amazing scenery - got harassed by some of the locals who all want to take you on a tour, which is a whole 5 minutes of walking but other than that I'm glad we went to see this wonder.

Lovely place. Be sure to park at the whole in the wall hotel (p.s the have a very nice restaurant) and ignore any tour guids suggestion from the local people. They just want your money. It's easy 10 min walk with Google maps guides or the local guard at the hotel

Magical, the wonder of God’s creation. We parked at Hole in the Wall hotel for R50, then a guide was assigned to us (at a cost) to take us for the walk to the Hole in the Wall, which took about 15 minutes. I enjoyed the walk to the beach, as well as the walk/swim to Hole in the Wall. You can easily spend 3 to 4 hours there, bring a chair and an umbrella, swim costume and sun screen lotion. The guide also took us to the Boiling Water viewpoint on the way back. The best activity to do in Coffee Bay!

  • 4/5 Trevor van D. 4 years ago on Google
Rustic and casual. No load shedding probably because of a high ranking chief in the area. Reasonably priced menu except for the specials which are pricey. The locals are bothersome when one leaves the security area but the views are great.

It's a fun, energetic place. Fishing is awesome if you know what you are doing. Locals are friendly but be careful of the gillies(the helpers while fishing). Scenery is breathtaking. A lot of hiking so wear good quality shoes. No ATMs or fuel stations close by. All in all a wonderful place every South African should visit

  • 5/5 Michael S. 4 years ago on Google
Pretty obvious why you will love Hole in the Wall! The very best of natural, unspoilt beauty. Park on the hill above the hole and take the 3 minute walk down. The walk back up may take a few minutes more! Swimming is safe in the small bay. Jumping off the rock ledge to the right of the hole is possible, as the wave comes in. Obviously it is dangerous, but I lived to tell the take.

    awesome place

  • 4/5 Cornelius P. 4 years ago on Google
Oh my words. We liked it. Friendly ferral dogs crossing the river. Swimming. Goats climbing rocks and trees. Friend tripping while crossing the river... but keeping his backpack dry while trying to think how to get up and keep the bag dry... while the current and waves pushed and pulled at him. Haha. Nice swimming and good to see See-cows(not manatee- but Nguni).

The place(coffee bay) is amazing, beautiful and tranquil. Uberkei cottage was not very welcoming to us. The place was not prepared and cleaned for us guests, we couldn't get keys on time. The is no television and Dstv. The place provides no towels and toilet paper, even air freshener. It is pathetic! The owner, Nicki could not be bothered by our inconvenience. The following day white guests arrived and the place was prepared and cleaned for them prior to their arrival. Double standards or race preference is my opinion of the attitude of Uber cottage management!

Great scenery. A bucket list item.

  • 4/5 Maraai 4 years ago on Google
The hole in the wall is absolutely stunning and great place for a nice swim. Only problem is the locals trying to get money and getting agitated if you don't want them to guide you to the hole or watch your car, makes the experience a bit uncomfortable.
